First Night of RNC Gets Nearly Six Times More Views Than DNC’s on C-SPAN

C-SPAN’s live stream of night one of the Republican National Convention (RNC) garnered nearly 440,000 views, a major increase over the start of the Democratic National Convention that drew 76,000 views. “The numbers for Monday night come ahead of traditional TV ratings from Nielsen Media Research, which will be released on Tuesday afternoon,” according to the Hill. Roughly 18.7 million people watched the first night of the virtual DNC from Milwaukee and Wilmington, Delaware, which featured speeches by former First Lady Michelle Obama and former Gov. John Kasich (R-OH), according to Nielson. The Hill report continued: Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s speech on Thursday night was watched by 21.8 million people on TV, beating out the numbers for other major speeches at the party’s convention earlier in the week. Still, the numbers for Biden mark a 21 percent drop from presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s acceptance speech at the Democratic convention in 2016. They are also more than 38 percent lower than President Trump’s acceptance speech at the Republican convention four years ago, which drew 34.9 million viewers. Amazon Prime Video live streamed all four nights of the DNC last week but did not offer a live stream of the RNC on Monday night, according to Breitbart News. The article read: Searching for RNC coverage on Amazon also proved to be more difficult than searching for DNC footage. A search for the term “DNC” brought up Amazon’s livestreams from all four days of the Democratic National Convention last week, while an “RNC” search failed to return anything related to Monday’s convention. Amazon users had to search the term “Republican National Convention” to find any RNC-related content, the report stated. In addition, Fox News received criticism for cutting away from RNC coverage several times during the event, according to Breitbart News. “As the evening continued, social media lit up with questions and criticism regarding the outlet’s broadcasting choices.” “Hannity and friends talked over half of Steve Scalise’s speech. Muting him at the RNC while they babbled,” Media Analyst Mark Dice wrote in a subsequent tweet.

TV Ratings: Oscars Fall to All-Time Lows

ABC’s Oscar telecast reached all-time lows in the ratings, falling sharply from last year. The three-hour-plus kudocast averaged about 23.6 million viewers and a 5.3 rating among adults 18-49, well below the 29.56 million and 7.7 for 2019’s awards ceremony — which aired two weeks later in the year. The Oscars were down 20 percent year-over-year in viewers and 31 percent in the key ad-sales demo of adults 18-49. Last year’s Oscars stopped a four-year ratings slide, growing the audience for the first time since 2014. Sunday’s awards show also falls well short of previous ratings lows for the Oscars, set in 2018. That year the telecast averaged 26.54 million viewers and a 6.8 rating in the demo; Sunday was down 11 percent in viewers and 22 percent in adults 18-49 from prior lows. The Oscars join the Emmy Awards in suffering steep ratings declines. The September 2019 Emmy broadcast on Fox fell by 32 percent in viewers and 29 percent in adults 18-49 from the previous year. By comparison, the declines for January’s Golden Globes (off by 4 percent in viewers and 10 percent in the 18-49 demo) and Grammy Awards (down 6 percent in viewers, 4 percent in the demo) were fairly slight. Sunday’s ceremony, which went without a host for the second straight year. ended at 11:32 p.m. ET. It was capped by a historic best picture win for Parasite, the first non-English-language film to take the top honor. Filmmaker Bong Joon Ho also won for best director and shared the best original screenplay award with Han Jin-won, while the pic was also named best international feature film. The Oscars did maintain their status as the most-watched awards show — although the Grammys scored a slightly better 18-49 rating (5.4), the first time that has happened since 2012. Sunday’s ceremony was the biggest entertainment special since last year’s Oscars.

More and more people are opting to NOT watch the Oscars.  After all, who wants to listen to a bunch of pampered, self-righteous, arrogant, out-of-touch, extreme liberal elitists talk down to them.

NFL Ratings Continue to Plunge in Third Week of National Anthem Protests

For the third consecutive week, ratings for the National Football League (NFL) have plummeted, as players continue anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem. This week’s drop-off also coincided with the Monday broadcast of the first presidential debate between Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton. Ratings for Sunday Night Football featuring the Chicago Bears and Dallas Cowboys scored a 12.9 Nielsen rating, down from the game’s 13.7 rating last week. Week two, in turn, was down from week one’s 13.9 rating, according to Sports Business Daily. Ratings also dropped more than they did during week three a year ago for the slate of midday regional games, falling by 18 percent. Monday Night Football performed even worse. Monday’s game between the Atlanta Falcons and the New Orleans Saints received a low 5.7 rating, a 38 percent plunge from week three of last year. Notably, the game was competing against the first presidential debate between Trump and Clinton, an event that earned the biggest debate audience in U.S. political history. According to CNN Money, the September 26 debate brought in more than 80 million viewers. But the NFL has also been suffering under the anti-American protests during the playing of the national anthem, which San Francisco 49ers second string quarterback Colin Kaepernick started three weeks ago. Since Kaepernick decided to sit out the anthem instead of standing at attention as everyone else was doing, a host of other players across the NFL have joined him in his attack on the United States. Some have decided to emulate Kaepernick’s action of staying seated during the anthem. Others took up his secondary protest of kneeling in the field during the song. Still others have taken to raising the militant black power fist in the air during the anthem. Not content with his on-field protests, Kaepernick has continued his anti-American rants off the field. Recently, as a rejoinder to GOP nominee Donald Trump, he said the United States was never great. “He always says, ‘Make America great again,’” Kaepernick said of Trump. “Well, America has never been great for people of color and that’s something that needs to be addressed. Let’s make America great for the first time.” Since his first attempt to criticize the country, Kaepernick’s anti-American protest has spread to other sports, including high school and college athletics.

Ahh..   Such a positive role model Colin is…NOT.  As much as I love watching NFL games, I’m glad to see Americans showing their displeasure with this crap that Colin started, and voting with their wallets.  I wonder at what point the politically correct tools that run the NFL decide to penalize maggots like Colin and his fan club for their brazenly offensive and disrespectful antics.
