Opinion/Analysis: Trump makes punishing leftist anarchists for desecrating monuments a priority

President Trump was elected in large part on the issue of law and order. It’s been an issue for generations in this country, as Americans have watched the decline of social cohesion ever since the left enjoyed sympathetic coverage by the mass media during the Vietnam War. What we are seeing today with riots, vandalism and the wanton destruction of public property and art is a natural and cancerous outgrowth of the encouragement and coddling of leftists and their violent but farcical anarchy. The good news is, we are seeing Mr. Trump emerge, once again, as the right man at the right time. After weeks of seeing chaos and anarchy unfold on the streets with no apparent response from law enforcement at any level, the White House and Department of Justice have begun to make it clear that there will be serious repercussions for those engaging in mob violence. This should be a no-brainer, but the Republican Party has a historic problem known as “No Spine Syndrome.” The GOP has been scrambling for its binky and hoping no one would knock on their door. Not needing the help of sucklings, Mr. Trump stepped forward. He tweeted on June 26, “I just had the privilege of signing a very strong Executive Order protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues — and combatting recent Criminal Violence. Long prison terms for these lawless acts against our Great Country!” That order “enforces laws prohibiting the desecration of public monuments, the vandalism of government property, and recent acts of violence, withholds federal support tied to public spaces from state and local governments that have failed to protect public monuments, and withdraws federal grants for jurisdictions and law enforcement agencies that fail to stop their desecration. It also provides assistance for protecting the federal statues,” Fox News reported. This aggressive federal posture sends a message, in fact it gives permission, to hesitant and even frightened local leaders, that capturing and punishing the mob is a priority. Cases in point: On June 27, The Oklahoman reported, “Protesters blamed for the violence that broke out in Oklahoma City the last weekend in May were charged Friday with terrorism, rioting and assault. … Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater made the decisions himself on the charges in a get-tough approach meant to deter others from going too far during protests in the future. ‘This is not Seattle,’ Prater said Friday. ‘We’re not putting up with this lawlessness here.’” In Colorado, the governor is “warning protestors that ‘destruction and vandalism are not the answer’ after three suspects were arrested in connection to a fire set to a pedestal of a toppled Civil War monument outside the State Capitol building,” Fox News reported. On Friday, June 26, I had the opportunity of guest hosting for Laura Ingraham on Fox News and spoke with acting Department of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary Ken Cuccinelli. I told him how disturbing it was to see wanton anarchy in various cities with apparently no arrests or repercussions for the mob. Here’s part of that exchange: KEN CUCCINELLI: “We can go around the country and I can rattle off places where federal forces have been employed to deal with local violence, not peaceful protesting, local violence. And that’s still going on — the president still has us leaning forward doing that.” TAMMY BRUCE: “Have there been arrests? How many arrests have there been? We know that these are televised events, felonies are occurring, property being destroyed.” CUCCINELLI: “There have been arrests.” BRUCE: “How many?” CUCCINELLI: “Yeah, there have been arrests. I don’t actually know the total number, but it’s an enormous number. And I’ll tell you there are a large number of federal investigations going on right now following up on the violence you’ve seen, the destruction you’ve seen.” The next Monday, the White House press secretary noted at the start of her briefing that there had been more than 100 arrests, with 200 investigations ongoing. Additionally, the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force arrested four men for vandalism of the Andrew Jackson statue in Lafayette Park. Indicative of the president’s commitment to acting quickly against the mob, on Tuesday he responded to the vandalism of the iconic statues of George Washington in New York City’s Washington Square Park. He tweeted, “We are tracking down the two Anarchists who threw paint on the magnificent George Washington Statue in Manhattan. We have them on tape. They will be prosecuted and face 10 years in Prison based on the Monuments and Statues Act. Turn yourselves in now!” This incident will ruin the lives of the two people captured on surveillance video, and should send a significant message to every menace who thinks they can act with impunity. The president is illustrating that law and order is of paramount importance and is at the foundation of everything else. We know he understands the policy issues on which he was elected, but now it is more important than ever to show the American people that he’s acting to secure this nation, as the legacy media is working overtime to convince us that chaos reigns. Why? Because, like abusers and batterers everywhere, they tell you if you just surrender, they’ll stop hurting you. That’s a lie, and it will be rejected in November.

Opinion: The left’s poisoning of the educational infrastructure

Courtesy of our educational infrastructure having been transformed into leftist indoctrination centers, the result is politicians who care only about ideology where citizens are collateral damage in their march toward a leftist utopia. Our media is populated with news-actors who are similarly bound to their teachers’ idols of social justice, political correctness and identity politics. All of our institutions are suffering from the twin masters of identity politics and woke philosophy. In New York City during the riots, two individuals were arrested for attempting to bomb a marked New York Police Department cruiser with a Molotov cocktail. Upon arrest, police found additional material in the car to make more Molotov cocktails, and the booking complaint alleges they intended to hand out the bombs to other rioters. The kicker? Both of the suspects are lawyers. One, Colinford Mattis, a 32-year-old man had been working with a corporate law firm in New York City, and is a graduate of Princeton University. The other, Urooj Rahman, a 31-year old woman, is a graduate of Fordham Law School and was admitted to the bar in 2019. On her Facebook page, she fashions herself a “human rights lawyer.” His background as an “anti-poverty intern” for a mayor of San Francisco was listed on LinkedIn, as well as being president of the Princeton Black Student Union. With such promising backgrounds and illustrious educations, we must ask, what went wrong? Education went wrong, which is a dangerous realization, considering its importance not just as a conveyer of information, but as an important and formidable influence on character and values. With the breakdown of the American family, for many, the leftist indoctrination at the academy is the only instruction on life and principles to which they’ve been exposed. On Twitter, the Federalist’s Molly Hemingway noted, “Battle lines are more clearly being drawn these days, between those who clearly believe America is irredeemably evil and must be violently overthrown and those who believe America remains the greatest country on earth, based on rule of law, individual liberty, and inalienable rights. Decades of public education have given the former group a *huge* advantage, reinforced by media that awards itself prizes to indoctrinate message. The seriousness of that side now being impossible to ignore, however, finally forces the rule of law side to realize the fight must be engaged.” As leftists consumed public education, they accepted open-minded young people into their realm and are now vomiting them back up as heartless anarchists. The issue is not just at Ivy League institutions, it is a systemwide problem. Case in point is brought to us by the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB). In the midst of violent rioting in dozens of cities across the United States, and on the same night rioters set fire to Washington, D.C.’s historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sarah Parcak, a faculty member of UAB went to Twitter encouraging people to topple a local monument she deemed a racist insult. “Ms. Parcak began coaching rioters about how to tear down monuments as networks covered the unrest in Washington on Sunday night. ‘PSA for ANYONE who might be interested in how to pull down an obelisk* safely from an Egyptologist who never ever in a million years thought this advice might come in handy,’ Ms. Parcak tweeted. She went on to fire off more than a dozen tweets demonstrating how protesters could topple obelisks …,” The Washington Times reported. On Parcak’s bizarre tweet frenzy encouraging mayhem, Mark Bauerlein, the editor of First Things Magazine, a journal on religion and public life, said, “The crucial point in this maniacal tweet is that this professor has been honored by TED, the Smithsonian, and the Guggenheim,” and asked, “Many advocates of disorder now occupy elite institutions that have in the past been the guarantors of order. Who let them in?” Kyle Shideler, the director/senior analyst for homeland security and counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy, has the most direct answer: “They took over the academy and all credentialing. The middle and lower-middle-class families in this country paid millions to let the Weather Underground raise their kids in hopes they would climb the social ladder,” as he responded on social media. A Fox News producer inquired with UAB if it had any comment about a faculty member encouraging the destruction of property and mayhem on a night when the nation was aflame in violence. UAB responded, “These are not the opinions of the university. Our 45,000+ students, faculty and staff often use social media to express thoughts that do not necessarily reflect the voice of the university. If a public comment by a member of the campus community needs to be addressed by Student Affairs or Human Resources, it would be. However, personnel and student conduct matters are addressed privately between the individual and the institution.” Whoever Mattis’ and Rahman’s professors were, they weren’t out fixing up Molotov cocktails Sunday night, but for some reason their young charges allegedly were. And Parcak was no doubt comfortable in a chair during the 10 p.m. hour on a Sunday as she was tweet-inciting others to put themselves and their futures at great risk. Why put yourself on the line when others who look up to you are too naive to know you’re stuffing them into a cannon?

Opinion/Analysis: Democrats show us what a complete meltdown looks like. (And they want to run your health care?)

Despite years of efforts by the increasingly desperate establishment to destroy him, the story remains one of triumph for President Trump and the country. His State of the Union address on Tuesday was well-received even among the most partisan of media figures. For the Democrats, their story is not as optimistic. Two events, within 24 hours of each other, provide a pristine picture of the reality of the chaos engulfing the Democratic Party. Between the debacle of the Iowa State Democratic caucuses and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s petty behavior during Mr. Trump’s State of the Union address, the Democrats are modeling what a complete meltdown really looks like. On the one hand, Iowa voters, political observers and the public in general were gobsmacked by the disaster the Democratic Party made in the caucuses. The traditional launch of the political season, the Iowa caucuses have oftentimes confused people because of the unique nature of their process determining the preferred nominees for each political party. But this year there was an extra special surprise: a blinding reminder of the Democratic Party’s sloppy incompetence. For some inexplicable reason during a presidential election year, the Iowa Democratic Party decided to use a new smartphone app to collect caucus data and determine who had won. Only as they implemented the app in real time did they find their new system wasn’t ready for prime time. All this after having refused an offer by the Department of Homeland Security to test the app for security and performance prior to the caucuses. Iowans and the nation were told a “coding error” was to blame, allowing chaos to prevail. Votes couldn’t be counted, and no result would be forthcoming. Finally, at 5 p.m. the next day, a partial tally was released. But who can trust the result? It was not lost on most observers that candidates and a party advocating for massive, intrusive government to control your life can’t even properly run a state caucus vote. But this is not entirely surprising as it’s very similar to the absurdity of the failure of the Obamacare website. With the full force of the federal government behind them, and $1 billion in costs, the Democratic Party couldn’t even build a completely functioning health insurance portal. At one point, the site was so insecure it was hacked. The problem for the Democrats and the left is that all of their energy is spent on convincing people into believing things that are not true. The energy it takes to maintain their collective with lies and hoaxes is enormous. When it comes down to the brass tacks of governing, or the hard work of creating something that actually functions, the left isn’t capable or even really interested; their main goal is to simply gain power and will use whatever fraud they can to achieve that goal. In the midst of the remarkable turn of events in Iowa, the very next night was Mr. Trump’s much-anticipated State of the Union address. With a theme of “The Great American Comeback,” the president touted his success over the last three years with the economy, justice reform, and moving people up and out of poverty. It was an optimistic, forward-looking speech with a view of his hopes for the country. There were no references to or shots at the Democrats for the galling impeachment effort. Mr. Trump’s restraint served as a perfect juxtaposition to the shocking behavior of Mrs. Pelosi throughout the evening. At the end of the speech, in an unexpected and appalling action, Mrs. Pelosi picked up her copy of the president’s speech and began tearing it apart in a manner meant specifically for television cameras to capture. Mrs. Pelosi’s action was one of extraordinary pettiness and the behavior of a woman broken, defeated and small. What an awful and ignominious collapse for her. In the aftermath, Democrats are likely disappointed they can’t blame this on a coding error. The reaction to the speech-ripping was quick. Republican Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana tweeted, “This speech was about American heroes and American workers. She decided THAT was worth literally tearing apart. Absolutely disgraceful.” The White House tweet reminded us about the Americans honored in his speech: “Pelosi just ripped up: one of our last surviving Tuskegee Airmen. The survival of a child born at 21 weeks. The mourning families of Rocky Jones and Kayla Mueller. A service member’s reunion with his family. That’s her legacy.” Overall, the last week has been an education for the American people as a whole and a rolling disaster for a confused and flailing Democratic Party. No doubt Mrs. Pelosi and her enablers were hoping to impact how Mr. Trump was viewed. They succeeded. Gallup has found the president’s approval ratings hit an all-time high during the impeachment trial, in part because of higher ratings among both Republicans and independents. The polling firm also determined, “As Trump’s job approval rating has improved, so has the image of the Republican Party. Now, 51% of Americans view the Republican Party favorably, up from 43% in September. It is the first time GOP favorability has exceeded 50% since 2005.” The president ended his State of the Union address by saying, “The best is yet to come.” That couldn’t be more true as the Democrats continue to remind the American people about how much is at stake in November.

Analysis: For CNN, anyone on the left is ‘anti-hate’ — even violent masked mayhem-driving thugs

Apparently CNN thinks violent leftists can’t be “hate groups.” How else to explain the network downplaying the violent actions of Antifa, a group the Obama administration determined were perpetrators of “domestic terrorist violence?” That’s exactly what we saw with CNN’s coverage of the “Unite the Right” rally in Washington, D.C., this Sunday. About 40 white nationalists left their parents’ basements to gather in the nation’s capital on the anniversary of the deadly Charlottesville riot. This time, the racists were dramatically outnumbered by 200 violent and masked Antifa anarchists. Antifa behaved as they always have—violently. Fox News reported, “Members of Antifa were seen launching eggs, fireworks and water bottles at police officers and the Secret Service, beating people in the street and threatening members of the media…” Media covered the violence in real time on social media. There is film of the violence. Peaceful demonstrators captured the violence on cell phone video and posted attacks on the police and media for the world to see. Americans have watched for years now as Antifa has attacked members of the media, police and even innocent bystanders. The increase of violence so alarmed the Obama administration that “’Federal authorities have been warning state and local officials since early 2016 that leftist extremists known as ‘antifa’ had become increasingly confrontational and dangerous, so much so that the Department of Homeland Security formally classified their activities as “domestic terrorist violence,’ according to interviews and confidential law enforcement documents,” as Politico reported in September 2016. Yet this weekend, the mask-wearing thugs – their violence well-documented for everyone to see – were actually described by CNN as an “anti-hate” group. That’s right. A CNN screen banner during coverage of the violence announced, “Anti-hate groups dramatically outnumber white supremacists in DC.” Apparently, for CNN, you can throw things at cops and attack journalists but as long as you’re on the left-wing hate-Trump end of the political spectrum that’s some A-OK anti-hate expression going on out there. This is one of the reasons Americans have lost trust in mainstream media. They aren’t asking for news with which they agree all the time, they simply want the actual news. Gallup reported in 2016 “Americans’ trust and confidence in the mass media ‘to report the news fully, accurately and fairly’ has dropped to its lowest level in Gallup polling history.” In CNN’s case, the American public see a previously respected news organization abandon its duty to report the news in order to promote the fiction that Americans are divided and President Trump is at fault. That’s the bottom line here—there is such an investment by legacy media to cast the president as a racist, and dividing the American people as a result, that even an event as clear as this had to be manipulated to fit that narrative. The actual news is this: the average American could get more people at a backyard barbeque or poker game than the racists managed to organize this weekend, even with nonstop national news coverage. And 200 violent anarchists used it as yet another opportunity to put on masks, riot, and chant slogans about evil America and capitalism. A divided America this does not make, however the media chooses to cover it. It was a pathetic gathering of irrelevant malcontents spewing hateful messages that Americans reject en masse, but desperate for the attention they knew the mainstream media would give them. For CNN, it also showed their desperation to mold it into their latest Trump-hating narrative about an America they imagine and loathe. The good news is, Americans no longer allow other people to feed them a false reality. We’re told the nation is divided by race. Yet, African-American support for the president has doubled in the last year, from 15 percent in 2017 to 29 percent now, according to Rasmussen. In a recent Harvard Harris poll, Hispanic support for the president increased 10 points. This is happening because in real life everyone’s lives are improving due to the president’s policies. But CNN needed to frame a clearly hate-filled event in a way that confirmed their fiction of racism stoked by President Trump. Here is the irony: CNN cast as “anti-hate” a group designated by the Obama administration as dangerous and violent – and they did it because they can’t see past their own hatred of Trump and anyone who voted for him.

Exactly!!  And well said, Tammy.  NY Times best-selling author, and radio talk-show host Tammy Bruce was the author of that spot-on analysis.  Excellent!!   🙂

Opinion: De Niro’s crude attack on Trump proves liberals are beside themselves that he keeps winning

Courtesy of actor Robert De Niro, we finally have an admission that the Trump-hater agenda has moved from stupid “resisting” to mindless rage. Gone is any pretense that President Trump’s opponents are genuinely concerned about policy or about the condition of the country. On Sunday night at the Tony Awards for Broadway productions, De Niro was brought on stage to introduce singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. But the moment De Niro got to the microphone he attacked President Trump, using a vulgar invective favored by juvenile bullies. “I’m gonna say one thing: f— Trump,” De Niro said. At that point the 75-year-old star of the upcoming “War with Grandpa” pumped his fists into the air. “It’s no longer down with Trump, it’s f— Trump!” Said on the eve of the Singapore summit, who knew that President Trump working for world peace would so infuriate De Niro? De Niro’s outburst illustrates why the blind and irrational hatred of the president that has infected some on the left is called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The crowd cheered De Niro’s obscene comment, with what appeared to be half of the audience giving the insult a standing ovation. In some television close-ups of sections of the crowd, you could see that not everyone was joining in on the fun. One shot, for example, showed a woman with her hand over her mouth looking horrified. Others sat gobsmacked, not applauding and certainly not standing. The clip itself has gone viral on social media. It received massive news coverage. But there was little discussion of why some people in the theatre were appalled and did not applaud. It’s because they want their industry to survive. They want to keep working and keep making money. Consider why awards shows are televised. They’re marketing extravaganzas. The Tonys are broadcast not because everyone in the country is on the edge of their seats wondering who will win Best Play. It’s because the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League are marketing the “excellence of Broadway” to the people they hope will leave their Middle American homes, travel to New York and see a Broadway play or musical. When De Niro declared the effort to “dump” Trump was over, and now the mission was simply to f— him, it was an admission that the only thing that matters now is to harm the president and his agenda. It was also a direct insult to everyone who voted for President Trump – the very people those invested in Broadway want to buy tickets. Salena Zito, a national political reporter and co-author, with Brad Todd, of “The Great Revolt: Inside the Populist Coalition Reshaping American Politics,” tweeted this after the De Niro debacle: “Dear Broadway, There are lots of families who voted for Trump who save to take their kids or wives to see stage productions either traveling to NYC or when the productions come to their hometown – they are your bread & butter. I don’t think you understand that you’re losing them.” The moment Donald Trump became the president-elect, Democrats and Never Trumpers had a window open briefly when they could try to define the president. If you were intent on convincing people something about someone that was untrue, you would have to do it before people found out the truth. That initial opportunistic braying of the left centered on claims that President Trump is an idiot, would destroy the economy, and would start World War III. Then we found out not that none of those things are true. Now with everything we know, when someone goes off unhinged like De Niro, the rage is inexplicable and evokes suspicion. An actor tells us it’s time to f— Trump because the economy is blossoming? Because unemployment is at historic lows? Because wages are increasing? Because ISIS is smashed? Because the leader of North Korea signed an agreement Tuesday after meeting with President Trump pledging to work toward the “complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula?” One can imagine the conversation in family rooms, other than in Malibu and Manhattan, as the Broadway crowd stood to applaud the tirade. Could some people actually want bad things to happen to Americans simply because they hate President Trump? We have the answer, courtesy of another creation of the entertainment industry, Bill Maher, host of HBO’s “Real Time.” Last Friday, Maher told his audience he was hoping for another recession, because “one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy. So please, bring on the recession. Sorry if that hurts people but it’s either root for a recession or you lose your democracy. … I feel like the bottom has to fall out at some point.” Maher is “sorry if that hurts people.” Coming from a man who some reports indicate makes at least $10 million a year, we know a recession certainly wouldn’t hurt him. A simple exchange on Twitter highlights how easily facts expose Trump hatred for the rank absurdity it is. A person tweeting as FunTrendsUSA was appalled that actress and author Alana Stewart found De Niro’s epithet to be disrespectful of the president. FunTrendsUSA snapped back that President Trump “deserves to be cursed, disrespected & impeached. Look at what he’s doing to this country!” Stewart responded by saying: “Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but it’s offensive to many of us to hear that kind of language on live tv. And I’m not sure what he’s doing so terrible since unemployment is lowest in 50 years & black and Hispanic unemployment lowest in history.” Logic, reason, and facts will best mindless rage every time. They also guarantee another Trump victory in 2020.

Opinion/Analysis: California’s new water rationing law is a tax in disguise, complete with fines

Last week’s column about California’s new water rationing apparently upset some of the Golden State’s swamp. This columnist pointed out that a new law signed by Gov. Jerry Brown set new “standards” of water usage. Here’s what their water-rationing bill (now law) says, in language everyone can understand: “The bill, until January 1, 2025, would establish 55 gallons per capita daily as the standard for indoor residential water use. … The bill would impose civil liability for a violation of an order or regulation issued pursuant to these provisions, as specified.” Yet, when confronted with a public discussion about what this means, the swamp pulled together to “debunk” the argument that the water rationing with fines was, well, water rationing with fines. The spin machine went into overdrive. A woman who works for the bill’s author in the California legislature assured everyone on Twitter that stories would be forthcoming in the Sacramento Bee and Snopes to prove what critics were saying were lies. The result looked very much like something the infamous Jonathan Gruber would have arranged. You remember Mr. Gruber — he’s the guy who worked on Obamacare and admitted they had no idea what economic impact the law would have on Americans, but they saw the polls and said what people wanted to hear. They relied on the “stupidity of the American voter” to get the law passed. It appears Democrats in California are hoping that theory is true. The Sacramento Bee came out swinging with a fascinating spin. If you take the Bee seriously, the new standard, which was important enough to specify in gallons and make law, is really just a suggestion. “Water agencies will be encouraged to have their customers limit indoor water use to an average of 55 gallons a day per person … as part of a broader ‘water budget’ strategy,” offered the Bee. The fact of the matter is this: Water agencies will be fined based on how well their districts ration. Those fines are $1,000 a day. After assuring people that all they need to do is buy a new washing machine or change their shower heads, the Bee coyly mentions at the end of its article, “Sure, a district could pass those costs onto your water bill, but think dollars and cents instead of thousands out of your bank account.” Wouldn’t you love to have the Bee’s oracle? Because never in recent history have we been told one thing about what a new law would cost you and have it be the opposite. You know, like being told a national health insurance scheme would save your family $2,300 a year, when it ended up costing you at least $5,000 or more. As those reporters shamefully run interference for Sacramento’s politicians, what they describe is even more disturbing than individuals being targeted: If a family follows all the rules and rations their water use, they will still be fined or penalized based on what others in the district are doing. When you’re paying for what others are doing, how is one to protest? This is a new tax, plain and simple; the arrangement of a rationing law so absurd that it cannot be adhered to by most, guarantees the new cash flow into Sacramento. In other words, this scheme isn’t about water conservation or climate change. It’s about the state taking more of your money ostensibly for wasting water, an issue on which they are the most egregious offender. Harmeet Dhillon, California attorney and Republican National Committeewoman from the Golden State, had this to say about the shenanigans: “We are used to being conned with taxes hidden in ‘plans’ and ‘budgets’ and ‘goals’ every day in California — see our recent carbon tax in the guise of ‘cap and trade,’ the highest gas taxes in the nation, high tolls on the roads, and even a proposal by the governor to tax us per mile we drive. But even Californians inured to the rising tax burdens are beginning to fight back against our command economy overlords. “In June’s primary, voters in Southern California recalled — by a large margin — a state Senator who voted to raise gas taxes on his car-loving constituents. And like the Boston patriots who protested the haughty British imposition of a heavy tax on tea, legislators and bureaucrats who dare to impose higher taxes and penalties on ordinary citizens going about their business and utilizing a totally renewable resource — water — in a hygienic and responsible way — may find that it is the water police who get dunked this time around.” The willingness of reporters to help California politicians gaslight the citizens like this has been shocking. The San Diego Tribune went so far as to mock the use of math that critics use to explain what California’s bill actually means. Math often matters when it comes to facts. The Department of Interior thinks numbers are important, too. It reports the average person uses on everyday, necessary activities 80-100 gallons of water a day. In the meantime, California will continue to waste hundreds of billions of gallons of water a year through a crumbling infrastructure. But in the words of Democratic leader Rahm Emanuel, liberals should never let a good crisis go to waste. Apparently including those they create.

Thanks to Tammy Bruce for this sobering follow-up to her article on this ridiculous situation in California which we posted last week.  Scroll down about 21 articles to see that article.  In a recent poll, 46% of Californians said they were planning on the leaving the state in a few years.  With nonsense like this latest water law, we certainly can understand why.

Analysis: Will California’s new water rules push people out of the Golden State?

“Please sir, I want some more,” is no longer a sentiment just for Oliver Twist in the orphanage. A new law in California limits how much water can be used by each household. Now their showers, how many flushes, and how often they can do their laundry will be under the watchful eye of the state government. This from politicians who have pushed policies creating homeless and drug abuse crises throughout the state. They have now decided to clamp down on the use of the most basic needs of civilized living. As the blog Zero Hedge put it, “it’s now against the law to do laundry and shower on the same day in the Sunshine State,” and they’re not exaggerating. Under the guise of addressing “climate change,” the new bill rations water to a degree that makes it impossible to maintain a healthy home environment. Perhaps the state wants everyone to feel like the drug addicts living in California’s ever-expanding homeless tent cities? Zero Hedge reported, “Assembly Bill 1668 is where it gets personal. This establishes limits on indoor water usage for every person in California and the amount allowed will decrease even further over the next 12 years. ‘The bill, until January 1, 2025, would establish 55 gallons per capita daily as the standard for indoor residential water use, beginning January 1, 2025, would establish the greater of 52.5 gallons per capita daily or a standard recommended by the department and the board as the standard for indoor residential water use, and beginning January 1, 2030, would establish the greater of 50 gallons per capita daily or a standard recommended by the department and the board as the standard for indoor residential water use …’” How do families feel about the rationing of water? CBS-13 in Sacramento asked a few: “‘With a child and every day having to wash clothes, that’s, just my opinion, not feasible. But I get it and I understand that we’re trying to preserve … but 55 gallons a day?” said Tanya Allen, who has a 4-year-old daughter.” To give you perspective on how much water basic chores require, the station noted an eight-minute shower uses about 17 gallons of water, a load of laundry up to 40, and a bathtub can hold 80 to 100 gallons of water. Felicia Marcus, chair of the State Water Resources Control Board, explained this is happening, “So that everyone in California is at least integrating efficiency into our preparations for climate change.” That’s nice. This same bureaucrat then noted to CBS-13, “Right now we lose up to 30 percent of urban water just to leaks in the system.” As the state rations the water of the average of family, making it impossible for everyone to shower and wash clothes, let alone use water to wash the dishes, and perform any myriad of other efforts to keep a home clean and a family healthy, it’s the state itself and its crumbling infrastructure that is the biggest waster of water. In 2014, during the drought, Californians found out what happens when policy focuses on controlling people, which is much easier than actually governing and maintaining infrastructure. The Pasadena Star-News reported, “As 20 million gallons of drinking water rushed down Sunset Boulevard and flooded the UCLA campus this summer, drought-conscious residents threw up their hands. How are three-minute showers going to make a difference, they asked, when the city’s pipes are bursting? Turns out the UCLA flood was just a drop in the sea of potable water that leaks or blows out of underground pipes. California’s water distribution systems lose up to 228 billion gallons a year, the state Department of Water Resources estimates — more than enough to supply the entire city of Los Angeles for a year.” The wasted water isn’t relegated to local areas in Southern California. The San Jose Mercury News reported about the Bay Area at the time, “Aging and broken pipes, usually underground and out of sight, have leaked enough water annually to submerge the whole of Manhattan by 5 feet — enough to meet the needs of 71,000 families for an entire year.” No wonder people are fleeing the state. This week Fox News reported, “A whopping 46 percent of California Bay Area residents fed up with the region’s high cost of living and soaring home prices are planning to pack their bags and move out in the next few years, a poll has found.” The report indicated homelessness and traffic were key reasons why residents wanted to flee. And this is while they can still shower, bathe their child and do laundry on the same day without being fined. “Ron and Elizabeth Haines, who have lived in the city of Pleasanton, say they are moving to Idaho this summer and are among the residents who believe living in the Bay Area is getting too expensive,” Fox News said. “We are excited,” Elizabeth Haines told the station. “I have tons of friends and family here. It’s going to be hard, but I have a feeling we’re going to have lots of visitors.” They sure will, but forget about that BBQ and table-tennis. Little do they know their friends will be bringing their laundry and want to soak in their bathtub. And then they’ll ask about the neighborhood and school system.

No kidding…  Thanks to radio talk show host, and New York Times best-selling author Tammy Bruce for bringing us that depressing report out of California.  Yeah..  No wonder a “whopping 46 percent” of Californians are planning on leaving the state in the next few years according to that recent poll. ..  And the two states highest on the list of where that 46 percent said they wanted to move to are Texas and Arizona; red/conservative/Republican states that have low taxes, and far less fascist regulations.  Gee..  Imagine that!  California is the state poster child of what happens when you have out-of-control, liberal, fascist, Democrats in power at every level of state government.  A state whose taxes and regulations are through the roof, and their infrastructure is broken…oh, and lets not forget that the state is on the verge of financial bankruptcy.  It is the ultimate example of the failure of liberal Democrat policy failures.  And, God-forbid you want to own a firearm for sport or personal defense….  Now you have to register…to purchase ammunition.  Unreal..

Tammy Bruce: What Hillary’s desire to run Facebook really tells us

The first question that comes to mind when hearing that Hillary Clinton would like to be CEO of Facebook is: How would they fit all their servers into her bathroom? We learned about Clinton’s desire to run the social media giant from a question posed to her during an event at Harvard University where she was receiving an award for her “leadership.” This for a woman who didn’t even have the courage to face her distraught supporters on election night 2016, own the defeat and tell them the truth. As her lackey John Podesta was lying to the confused and crying crowd at her election night party about it not being over, she was on the phone conceding to her rival Donald Trump. “Speaking at Harvard University before receiving an award Friday, Clinton was asked a hypothetical. … If Clinton could be chief executive of any company right now, which company would she choose? ‘Facebook,’ Clinton said without hesitating,” the Los Angeles Times reported. “Clinton said that she’d want to be in charge of the social media giant because of the immense power it has over the world’s flow of information. ‘It’s the biggest news platform in the world … but most people in our country get their news, true or not, from Facebook,” according to the newspaper. It makes sense that the woman who set up bootlegged email servers and installed them in her bathroom while secretary of state would like to run Facebook. It’s apparent her goal, since she was guaranteed to win the race (you know there are insurance policies for that, right?), was to make sure she controlled the flow of information. She accomplished this by resorting to those unofficial (and unprotected) servers, roping off media like cattle, refusing interviews, and trusting in her legacy media sycophants to make sure the party line was never disturbed. Then there was that damn internet. Her media put up with being roped off, but then pictures of it hit the Web, and folks in flyover country weren’t impressed. Then, looking wobbly and unwell two months before the election, she had to leave a Sept. 11 event, collapsing into the back of a van. But that was OK because the press pool was told to not follow her, and they obeyed. But then there was some guy with a damn phone who didn’t get the order to not see anything, and his video of her being obviously ill and apparently fainting ended up on, yes, the damn internet. The Clinton effort during the campaign to weave an alternate reality failed, in large part because social media didn’t let her get away with it. The Clintons understand the deleterious impact of the Internet on scoundrels. In 1998, Newsweek dutifully spiked a story about Bill Clinton having an affair with a White House intern. Then some unknown blogger named Matt Drudge had the gall to publish it. A nobody (at the time) on the internet ruined their control of information. Twenty-one years later, millions more nobodies (you can call them deplorables) continued the American tradition of speaking truth to power. The difference in a generation was the addition of Facebook and Twitter to the equation. Her excited Facebook admission reveals her ongoing obsession with controlling what people are allowed to know. We know Hillary Clinton well, and it’s fair to say that her interest in running the news and social media entity has nothing to do with defending and increasing the free flow of information. The twice-failed presidential candidate was receiving “Harvard’s Radcliffe Medal for her leadership, human rights work and ‘transformative impact on society,’ ” the Daily Mail reported. The people of Libya would probably be surprised by that. As would our abandoned heroes in Benghazi, who were murdered. Fewer voices generally do make it easier for the establishment to give itself awards.

Opinion: Hillary Clinton, our leading feminist icon, still doesn’t believe women can think for themselves

Woe are the Democrats. For generations now, they’ve been telling the American people that only they, and their cohort of liberals and leftists, understand and truly value women. Because of their special understanding of women, only they can be trusted to do what’s right politically for them, they tell us. Then came Hillary Clinton pulling the curtain back on that dangerously false narrative. At a speech in Mumbai, India, the twice-failed presidential candidate blamed her loss on mindless women who do as their husbands tell them. Again contemplating why she lost the 2016 presidential race, Mrs. Clinton blamed certain women for not thinking for themselves. “We don’t do well with married, white women,” she said, because of “ongoing pressure to vote the way that your husband, your boss, your son, whoever, believes you should,” Mrs. Clinton told the audience. It’s obvious from the last election that the Democrats also didn’t do well with married, white men. Yet, Mrs. Clinton doesn’t argue that it was Republican women bullying and pressuring their husbands into voting a certain way. In other words, the leading liberal feminist in the country is pushing the ironic narrative that if you’re a woman who does not conform to the liberal narrative, you have no mind of your own and are controlled by the men in your life. Yet it’s conservatives who are sexist and reliant on perpetuating gender stereotypes. Got it. Having come from the left, one of the most constant and appalling demonstrations of sexism in the feminist movement was the degrading and dehumanizing of women with whom liberal feminists disagreed. One of the most famous public illustrations of this is brought to us by Gloria Steinem, an icon of the modern feminist movement. In 1993, Ms. Steinem declared that then-Senate candidate from Texas Kay Bailey Hutchison was “a female impersonator … someone who looks like us but thinks like them,” reported the Orange County Register at the time. Publicly declared from on high by the Supreme Feminist for All Women: You are not a woman at all if you don’t think like us. When this columnist was within the feminist establishment in the 1990s, Ms. Steinem’s remarks reflected an attitude that was standard operating procedure. Heck, maybe Hillary thought she was doing women who don’t fall in line a favor by accusing them of simply being dumb pawns, instead of stripping them of their womanhood entirely. One of the biggest threats to the liberal “feminist” movement was for women to see there was a different way to think about the issues, better ways to think about policy and politics. This is why women who do not conform remain such a threat to the liberal status quo. Knowing what Mrs. Clinton exposes about the inherent sexism on the left, even her allies expressed dismay at the comments. FoxNews.com reported, “Clinton’s former 2008 presidential campaign manager Patti Solis Doyle didn’t defend her remarks. ‘Look this was bad. I can’t sugarcoat it,’ Solis Doyle said on HLN this week. ‘She was wrong and clearly it’s not helpful to Democrats going into the midterms and certainly not going into 2020.’ “ “Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., who is up for re-election, come the midterms in November, in a state Trump won by 19 points, [noted], ‘Those are kind of fighting words for me, because I’m partial to Missouri voters,’ McCaskill told The Washington Post. ‘I think they were expressing their frustration with the status quo,’ ” Fox News reported. The Washington Examiner noted, “What if the notion that women’s votes somehow belong to Democrats by default was always the product of leftist self-delusion and nothing more? What if these women voted for Trump of their own accord, in part because like many of the people who actually did vote for her, they were turned off by Clinton’s obvious and easily detectable insincerity and inauthenticity?” And Liz Peek, a writer and frequent guest on Fox Business and Fox News tweeted: “Hillary is supposed to be supportive of women but secretly she thinks they are cowed by husbands & bosses — shame on her. She can’t imagine women didn’t support her — that’s the biggest sign they actually think for themselves.” Hillary Clinton is turning out to be a touchstone for our time, just not in the way she expected. She reminds us almost every day that the left exercises a sexism that this nation has rejected. It also reminds us of the importance of a genuine advocacy for women in this country that instead of punishing women for thinking for themselves, we value and elevate all women, making sure they’re free to make choices that best suit them.

Well said, Tammy!  Author Tammy Bruce is a radio talk show host and a New York Times best-selling author…and calls it exactly right here.  Hillary is a nauseating, self-righteous, entitlement-minded, whiny hypocrite.  And now, even her former supporters are running away from her because they realize just how toxic Hillary’s big mouth is.  Of course we hope she continues to keep talking.  She’s the gift that keeps on giving.    🙂

Opinion: Saving the nation from the left’s bullies

As we’ve all been understandably focused on Hollywood’s Weinstein dumpster fire, a number of stories have emerged exposing the left’s continuing culture war, despite its meltdown in the film industry. The Harvey Weinstein saga is but one symptom of a dangerous and destructive, yet smug and sanctimonious, liberal establishment. While they butcher American culture, civil society and history, how better to keep us normals from interfering than by blaming their victims for society’s ills? Cases in point from the last week, reminding us there are many fronts in our fight to save this nation from the bullies of the pompous left: Dr. Pamela Gaudry was a passenger on a Delta flight that also carried one of our fallen soldiers. Upon landing, the captain announced that the body of Army Staff Sgt. Dustin Wright, who was killed on Oct. 4 in Niger, was on board and asked everyone to stay seated. After Dr. Gaudry organized a few other passengers to join her in singing the national anthem, she was stopped by a flight attendant who, according to a Facebook video posted by the doctor, told her it was against “policy” to sing the anthem on the plane. “The chief flight attendant came back to my seat and she kneeled down and she said, ‘It is against company policy to do what you’re doing,’ ” Dr. Gaudry said in the video. “And I said, ‘The national anthem? And there’s a soldier onboard?’ And she said, ‘Yes, you cannot sing the national anthem. It is against company policy.’ ” Delta has told reporters there is no such policy. The New York Post also reported that Dr. Gaudry was told singing “The Star Spangled Banner” would “offend” other passengers on the plane. The airline is investigating the matter. In the meantime, Dr. Gaudry’s video has gone viral, and the physician told Fox News that Delta called to apologize and Sgt. Wright’s family called to thank her. Also last week, the Biloxi, Mississippi, school board pulled the American classic “To Kill a Mockingbird” from its curriculum because, according to the school board president, “There is some language in the book that makes people uncomfortable,” the Sun Herald reported. The book, Harper Lee’s Pulitzer-Prize winning novel, is an American masterpiece about the trial of a black man as it explores rape, racism and inequality in the Depression-era South. While the Biloxi school board did not specify which language made people uncomfortable, the “N-word” is used over 50 times, within character conversations. The newspaper that broke the story learned about the decision from a reader. “Sun Herald received an email from a concerned reader who said the decision was made ‘mid-lesson plan.’ The students will not be allowed to finish the reading of ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ … due to the use of the ‘N-word.’ … ‘I think it is one of the most disturbing examples of censorship I have ever heard, in that the themes in the story humanize all people regardless of their social status, education level, intellect, and of course, race. It would be difficult to find a time when it was more relevant than in days like these.’ “ And then there’s Halloween. “The latest issue of a magazine run by Ohio State University students features a flow-chart designed to help students determine whether their Halloween costume is racist,” the watchdog group Campus Reform reported. ” ‘Is it politically charged?’ the chart asks of costume ideas that pertain to ‘something serious.’ If yes, the magazine is interested only in whether [it] makes fun of Donald Trump, in which case the chart advises the reader to ‘DO IT.’ “ The costume police, we do learn, are totally OK with a student wearing cultural headgear, but only if you’re a person of color. The scheme of liberal political correctness was never about genuinely making American culture more gallant, it was about inculcating everyone into believing that American culture was diseased and needed to be fixed. When, in fact, it was the liberal agenda itself that needed a deflection. We see how well that worked in Hollywood. Those victimized are not just vulnerable women, but men and children as well. Yet, the obsession curated by liberal leadership like Hillary Clinton, Weinstein and leftist politicians and activists everywhere was that Republicans and Donald Trump were the demons. On Twitter, cultural critic Kurt Schlichter put it perfectly, “No wonder these Hollywood hacks spend so much time screaming about Trump. They’re consumed by guilt over their own complicity so they strike out at somebody who they’ll only get praise for challenging while leaving others in their own business to keep being victimized. Cowards.” The left is sure they can quash the social compact and idea of America itself by convincing a portion of the public that being ‘offended’ is the standard by which we can and should censor and punish. The national anthem is racist, literature highlighting how far we’ve come as a nation is offensive, and even choices people make for costumes are rife with white supremacy and hatred. They say. As liberals insist we look away, they continue to destroy peoples’ lives. It’s taking work and courage, but we must continue to expose the liberal machine controlling both Washington, D.C., and Hollywood as the dangerous hypocrites and liars they are.

Agreed!!  That outstanding op/ed was written by author, and radio talk show host, Tammy Bruce.  Excellent!!    🙂
