Race

Michael Eric Dyson, liberal ‘View’ hosts say Trump’s mention of ‘Gone with the Wind’ was racially motivated

Liberal commentator Michael Eric Dyson attacked President Trump on Friday, arguing that he was racist for pushing for a return of “Gone with the Wind” and criticizing the movie “Parasite.” “The View” showed a clip of Trump arguing at a Colorado rally Thursday that “Parasite” shouldn’t have received an Academy Award. He also panned the choice of a South Korean film for best picture. “What the hell was that all about?” Trump asked. He added: “Can we get like ‘Gone with the Wind’ back, please?” “Yeah, let’s get ‘Birth of the Nation’ back because we don’t have enough of that kind of kowtowing and cooning,” Dyson said, referring to a movie that’s long considered to be racist. “The View” then muted the comments that followed and it’s unclear what exactly he said. Co-host Sunny Hostin took issue with Trump’s “Make America Great Again” slogan, arguing that Trump thought America was great in 1939 when “Gone with the Wind” was released. Dyson added that the movie was about “subordinating black people to white folk.” “Let’s bring back the Civil War, let’s bring back slavery,” said co-host Ana Navarro, speaking on how she believes Trump feels about the film. “Gone with the Wind” has come under fire for its depiction of slavery and African Americans. In 2017, a historic theater in Memphis, Tenn., which had shown “Gone With the Wind” screenings for decades, decided to remove the classic film from its schedule due to its racially “insensitive” content. At the time, Orpheum Theater President Batterson explained the decision by saying , “As an organization whose stated mission is to ‘entertain, educate and enlighten the communities it serves,’ the Orpheum cannot show a film that is insensitive to a large segment of its local population.” The wife of late “Gone With the Wind” actor Fred Crane was outraged over the theater’s decision to ban the film. “By making a statement, they are trying to make a problem,” Terry Lynne Crane told Fox News at the time. “They are inciting racial division and it’s only escalating.”

Exactly right, Ma’am.  This is just another pathetic, disingenuous attempt to label Trump a racist.  It’s the standard Democrat talking point that they push over and over.  Trump liked the movie ‘Gone with the Wind;’ a movie that won TEN academy awards and is considered one of the greatest classic movies of all time.  So what?  It’s a great movie!   That’s all Trump was saying when he disagreed with ‘Parasite’ winning an Oscar.  That’s all   But, because the setting of the movie was during the Civil War when yes, blacks were slaves in the DEMOCRAT south, these self-righteous, sanctimonious, liberal elitists jumped at the opportunity to call Trump a racist.  Then, to make matters worse, you have these brain surgeons on The View suggesting that Trump, in an election year no less, actually intended to make a racist comment.  In other words, he consciously tried to be offensive to a large voting segment in an election year.  Yeah, Michael and Sunny, that’s what he intended…morons.  This is self-serving, agenda driven nonsense gone crazy.  And this is why more and more people are turning away from these race hustlers on the left.

Analysis: Rooting Out Systemic Racism and White Supremacy

It’s axiomatic among progressives and the mainstream media that the country is awash in racism and white supremacy. The entertainment industry is obsessed with racism/white supremacy. So too is the educational establishment. More than a half century after passage of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, racism and white supremacy apparently permeate every corner of the country. Indeed, according to the New York Times’ 1619 Project, racism is in the very DNA of America. So virulent and widespread is racism and white supremacy today that Democratic presidential candidates call for “rooting out” the plague every chance they get. Speaking at a recent event hosted by Al Sharpton, former Vice President Joe Biden said: “We have a lot to root out, but most of all the systemic racism that most of us whites don’t like to acknowledge even exists. There’s something we have to admit — not you, me, white America — has to admit there’s still a systemic racism.” Biden wasn’t asked why he seemingly hadn’t made a dent in rooting out systemic racism in his 36 years as a senator or eight years as Barack Obama’s VP. After all, he has been a member in good standing of The System for a long time. Elizabeth Warren also wants to root out systemic racism: “We must recognize the systemic discrimination that infects our country, and we must work actively — and deliberately — to root it out and set us on a better path.” Racism is everywhere, affects everything. Warren maintains that “race has totally permeated our justice system” and “our crisis of environmental injustice is the result of decades of discrimination and environmental racism.” Given that racism permeates nearly every facet of society, even the environment, it’s impressive that Warren willingly subjected herself to the scourge by claiming she’s Native American. Pete Buttigieg maintains that “We are by no means even half way done dealing with systemic racism in this country.” He asserts that “systemic racism and white supremacy in particular…is the force that is most likely to destroy America.” His website proposes “a comprehensive and intentional dismantling of racist structures and systems.” What, specifically, are these racist structures and systems? How about a few concrete examples supported by evidence? No one in the media seems the least bit interested in asking. It’s simply taken as given that whole institutions, structures, and systems in this country are racist and white supremacist. Asking for examples is, itself, racist. Or, at the very least, an embarrassing demonstration of terminal unwokeness. Racial disparities are presumptively equated with disparate treatment. Racism and white supremacy became particularly acute, of course, after November 2016. Nearly every racial malady since then has been attributed to Donald Trump and his hordes of white supremacist minions. It’s curious, however, that there hasn’t been the expected spike in the data related to racism. Just the opposite. For example, the number of race discrimination charges filed with the EEOC reached a 25-year high of 35,890 in 2010 during the Obama administration, compared with 23,976 filed (merely filed, not even determined to have probable cause) in 2019. Similarly, the FBI reports that 7,120 hate crimes were committed in 2018, fewer than even a decade ago, when the U.S. population was millions smaller and far fewer agencies were reporting hate crimes. These data points don’t necessarily disprove Democratic/media assertions that racism and white supremacy abound. But it’s a far easier lift than proving racism and white supremacy are ubiquitous. Not to worry. There’s at least one clear and unequivocal example of systemic racism in America today, but you’ll never hear Democratic candidates utter a word about it: the staggering racial preferences awarded by colleges to black and Hispanic applicants over white and Asian applicants. Systemic racism is OK, provided it’s approved by progressives, and they’re running the system.

Well said, Peter. Peter N. Kirsanow is the author of that outstanding op-ed.  He is an attorney and a member of the United States Commission on Civil Rights.  Oh, and not that it’s really relevant..but given the topic, and today’s politically correct climate, it’s probably worth noting that Peter is black.  Yeah…  How ’bout that.     🙂

Chelsea Handler Humiliated for Falsely Suggesting Trump Only Exonerates White People

Comedian Chelsea Handler was hammered after she falsely suggested that President Donald Trump only exonerates or pardons white people. Handler got dragged on social media by commenters who pointed out that among the people President Trump chose this week for clemency are Angela Stanton-King, Tynice Nichole Hall, and Crystal Munoz — who are black and Native American. Two years ago, President Trump also granted clemency to Alice Johnson, who is black. President Trump enacted clemency actions on Tuesday for 11 individuals who served time for a range of crimes including drug-related offenses and white-collar fraud. Chelsea Handler, whose most recent Netflix project is a documentary about “white privilege,” appeared to attempted to paint President Trump as a racist by incorrectly implying in a tweet that he only exonerates white people. Angela Stanton-King, who served time for her role in a stolen vehicle ring, pointed out to Handler that she is black. Other Twitter commenters hammered Handler for her inaccurate comment, noting that President Trump’s clemency list was diverse in a way that reflects the racial make-up of the U.S. Of the 11 individuals who received a presidential pardon or commutation, at least three, or 27 percent, count as racial minorities. The racial minority population in the U.S. is estimated at around 23 percent, according to 2010 census figures. Since the passage of the First Step Act under President Trump, 96 percent of people who have been resentenced under the act’s retroactivity provision have been racial minorities, according to data provided by The Sentencing Project. Handler’s Netflix documentary on white privilege — Hello, Privilege. It’s Me, Chelsea — debuted last year to largely negative reviews, with critics saying it amounts to a “misguided reckoning” and noting that she is actively “exploiting her wokeness” and “profiting off a film about her white privilege.”

Chelsea is a nauseating, self-serving, self-righteous, extreme liberal elitist stricken with Trump Derangement Syndrome.  And, with Netflix’s assistance, she’s peddling the standard “Trump is a racist” talking point, regardless of facts to the contrary.  She’s out saying that Trump only pardons white people.  That is factually false.  But, the facts don’t matter to her, or her followers.

Behar: 2020 Dems Under Too Much Scrutiny — Republicans Are the ‘Most Racist’

Co-host Joy Behar defended 2020 Democratic hopeful Michael Bloomberg’s record on race relations over the objections of co-host Sunny Hostin on Friday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View.” Behar said, “Here’s my point, the stop and frisk thing I think will be counteracted by some of the following. When he was mayor, not that—listen…I’m not shilling for Mayor Bloomberg yet, but I think there’s another side to the story.” Co-host Meghan McCain said, “You kind of are. You like him.” Behar said, “I like him, fine, I do. I like Biden too. I like all of them. I told you I’ll vote for any of them. I’ll vote for Peewee Herman, I told you. But let’s talk about this. He created an office to tackle poverty when he was mayor. He greatly expanded city contracts with businesses owned by minorities and women. He created the young men’s initiative to help black and Latino men stay on track for success, and he reduced incarceration by 40% and juvenile confinement by more than 60%. That is the balance to the stop and frisk that the black community is looking at. You know, as Sunny says every day, no one can win the primary without the black vote. Hostin said, “I think his record, though, Joy, is problematic. I really do. Not only does he have the stop and frisk issue, but he has also the redlining thing … he made it racial. He did.” Behar said, “Why are you so strict on Democrats and lenient on Republicans who have the most racist policies and the most racist track record? Why? Every single one who’s running probably has— this is a racist country, right? Hostin said, “Yeah.” Behar said, “Every single one of them has something in their background that doesn’t look good for race.

And THAT is what Joy Behar, and the rest of these liberal media tools, are falling back to; the race card.  For Dems, its the fallback position; playing the race card.  Joy is in hysterics.  Her pathological hatred (i.e. Trump Derangement Syndrome) for Trump is so intense, that even she admits she’d vote for the fictitious Peewee Herman character.  So, out comes the race card.  After all, Trump is the most racist president we’ve ever had, right?  America is starting to see through that unfounded Dem talking point…and that’s just one of the reasons Joy and her friends are in hysterics.

Coulter: Stop Apologizing for Saving Black Lives

Idiot conservatives were doing the idiot thing this week, screaming “racism!” in response to an old tape of former Mayor Michael Bloomberg defending stop-and-frisk, one of the policies that drove New York City murder rates down to Mayberry levels. They weren’t being ironic. In the 2015 tape, Bloomberg makes the blindingly obvious point that if “95 percent of murders and murder victims are young male minorities” — as is true in New York City — then police should be questioning about 95 percent young male minorities. To stop crime, he said, you “put a lot of cops where the crime is, which means in minority neighborhoods.” Bloomberg further explained that frisking young black and brown men for minor crimes is how you keep guns off the streets generally: “And the way you get the guns out of the kids’ hands is to throw them up against the wall and frisk them. And then they start, they say, ‘Oh, I don’t want to get caught.’ So they don’t bring the gun. They still have a gun, but they leave it at home.” Does anyone with a functioning frontal lobe disagree with this? By pursuing the wacky idea of having cops frisk kids in high-crime areas for minor offenses like turnstile jumping, Mayor Rudy Giuliani cut the murder rate from more than 2,000 per year to about 600. No one thought it could possibly go any lower — and then Bloomberg got murders down to an unfathomable 300 or so per year. Giuliani and Bloomberg did more for young minorities than all living Democrats combined. In New York City alone, at least 20,000 more black men are alive today than would be under the genius crime-fighting ideas of prior administrations (and The New York Times). Unless liberal elites are pursuing a secret plan to reduce the black population by allowing young black men to kill one another (that would make a great movie by Jordan Peele!), stop-and-frisk is nothing to apologize for. Well, guess what? Bloomberg apologized for it. He began his presidential campaign with a repudiation of his signature accomplishment in order to please a handful of black activists and a lot of white liberals. For that, he deserves the contempt of all men of good will. Why not attack him for the gutless apology? Is Bloomberg sorry for saving so many black lives? Does becoming a Democrat make basic math incomprehensible? Is he a pandering coward? Can we trust anything he says? But small-bore conservatives did what they always do: Give up winning a war in order to land a quick blow in a skirmish. They called Bloomberg’s earlier, logically insuperable point “RACIST!” Great, so now conservatives are adopting the absolute worst aspect of liberalism — calling everything “racist.” As I wrote in 2016, when the media were going through their quadrennial demand that the Republican candidate for president “disavow” David Duke, these “racism” orgies never have anything to do with black people. It’s part of the Fabulous White People competition, where black people are the chips. If anything, the urge to call other people “racist” has only gotten stronger since then, so I’ll quote myself: “Sad people with meaningless lives [are] suddenly empowered to condemn other people. I beat you in blacks yesterday; I’m going to beat you in women today. This is what makes them feel superior to other people, especially other white people. It’s not about racism, sexism, homophobia, etc.; it’s just a self-actualization movement for people with emotional issues.” Why are conservatives leaping into this game? For the teeny-tiny pleasure of taking a cheap shot at Bloomberg, they are endorsing the idea that anyone who 1) grasps basic math and 2) is opposed to gun crime is a “racist.” Our entire public dialogue will soon be nothing but white people calling one another “racist,” as if we’re trapped in an eternal Democratic presidential debate. At the New Hampshire debate last Friday night, Tom Steyer — hedge fund manager and Hero to Black People Everywhere — kept hammering Joe Biden about some “racist” remark made by South Carolina State Sen. Dick Harpootlian, a Biden supporter. “One of the leaders of Joe Biden’s South Carolina campaign,” Steyer said, “made racist remarks about someone associated with our campaign.” Steyer then repeatedly called on Biden to “disavow” the remark and the man who made it. “Be on the right side,” he implored. The story: Harpootlian had tweeted that another South Carolina Democrat, state legislator Jerry Govan, flipped his support from Biden to Steyer after being paid “almost $50,000” by the Steyer campaign. Calling Steyer “Mr. Moneybags,” Harpootlian concluded, “This is what happens when billionaires get involved … They don’t have to persuade anybody, they just buy them.” I’ve assembled a panel of black judges to rule on Harpootlian’s racism, and their response is: Keep reading. Get to the racism part. Nope, that’s it! Govan is black, so pointing out that Steyer paid him $50,000 and got his endorsement is “racist.” I would have gone with “anti-Semitic” myself, but what do I know? I guess I’ll check with the conservative “racism” fighters!

Thanks to conservative firebrand Ann Coulter for calling these self-righteous hypocrites out.  When Dems abuse the word “racism,” we kinda expect it.  It’s like a Geico commercial; “it’s what they do.”   But, when our side does it, it’s nauseating, and we need people like Ann to call them out.  Heck, Trump is called racist basically every day for simply waking up and breathing.  It’s beyond ridiculous.  Stop and frisk was a method that worked in both Rudy’s and Bloomberg’s administrations in NYC.  There is NO question or debate about that.  It’s not even remotely moot.  And those who shout “racism” over such practices are the real racists.

Liberal white women shelling out $2,500 to learn over dinner they’re racist

Liberal white women across the country are eagerly shelling out $2,500 to have dinner and learn about their racism and privilege. “Dear white women: You cause immeasurable pain and damage to Black, Indigenous and brown women,” reads a website description for Race to Dinner. “We are here to sit down with you to candidly discuss how *exactly* you cause this pain and damage. The dinners are a starting point. A place to start thinking through how you actively uphold white supremacy every minute of every day. What you do after you leave the dinner is up to you.” Race to Dinner, which is featured in a new profile by The Guardian, was founded by Regina Jackson, who is black, and Saira Rao, who is Indian American, in the spring of 2019 and they said they haven’t been able to take a break ever since. In the program, a white woman agrees to host a $2,500-a-plate dinner for seven other white women, often strangers, while Ms. Jackson and Ms. Rao challenge them to accept their racism. So far, they’ve held 15 dinners in big cities across the U.S., The Guardian reported. The news outlet joined a Race to Dinner discussion in the Denver home of Jess Campbell-Swanson, where the women discussed their racial privilege over freshly made pasta. “Recently, I have been driving around, seeing a black person, and having an assumption that they are up to no good,” said attendee Alison Gubser, The Guardian reported. “Immediately after I am like, that’s no good! This is a human, just doing their thing. Why do I think that?” That was just one of the many admissions typically made at these dinners, which have taken a softer tone since the program was launched last year. Some women reported to The Guardian that Ms. Jackson and Ms. Rao came off as combative and angry in the beginning, so they eventually hired a white woman, Lisa Bond, in an effort to help the women open up more. The approach seems to have worked, but the founders still won’t bother inviting white women who voted for President Trump or white men, they told The Guardian. “White men are never going to change anything,” Ms. Jackson said. “If they were, they would have done it by now.” Ms. Rao added, “I’d spent years trying to get through to white women with coffees and teas — massaging them, dealing with their tears, and I got nowhere. I thought, if nothing is going to work, let’s try to shake them awake.” Ms. Bond said the problem isn’t the president, but the culture that allows racism to hide in shadows. “If Trump were impeached tomorrow and we got a new president, a lot of white liberal people will go back to living their lives just as before, and that’s what we have to prevent,” she said. “All that’s happened is we can see racism now, while before we could cover it up. That’s why we need these dinners. So when we get a new person in and racism is not as obvious, we won’t just crawl back to being comfortable.”

Wow..    These white liberal women who would actually spend $2,500 to have these anti-white racists yell at them are morons!!  Holy crap!  What person in their right mind would do a thing like that?!?  As we oftentimes ask here at The Daily Buzz…  And who, exactly, are the racists here?  It’s these losers to at “Race to Dinner.”  They are the ultimate race hustlers.  Just awful…

Gallup Reports Americans’ Satisfaction with Race Relations Has Increased 14 Percent Since Trump’s Inauguration

A new Gallup poll released Monday found that Americans have become considerably more optimistic about the state of race relations since Trump took office, with a 14-point increase over just three years. Satisfaction on “the state of race relations” in the country rose from a mere 22 percent in January 2017, just before Trump took office, to 36 percent in January 2020, just weeks before Trump’s State of the Union address. Race relations optimism still remains 8 points lower than it was in 2001, and a survey of the population from January 2 to January 15 showed that 58 percent of Americans were still dissatisfied with the state of race relations. Respondents’ satisfaction with “the position of blacks and other racial minorities in the nation” also rose nine points over three years to 46 percent in 2020, as part of a larger trend which showed that Americans overall satisfaction with the direction of the country was at its highest point since 2005. Eighty-four percent of respondents reported satisfaction with their overall quality of life, a four-point increase from 2017, and public opinion on the state of the nation’s economy has risen 22 points to 68 percent satisfaction under the Trump administration. Trump repeatedly touts strong economic numbers, particularly for blacks and Hispanics, as evidence of his minority support. “African-American Unemployment is the LOWEST in the history of our Country, by far. Also, best Poverty, Youth, and Employment numbers, ever. Great!” Trump tweeted on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Clearly there is a correlation between lower unemployment in minority communities and improved race relations.  So, the President should absolutely tout that.  After all, unemployment for Blacks, Hispanics, and Asians is at their lowest level ever recorded.  For women, its at a 65 year low.  Just more great news, and it’s driving Democrats and the liberal media nuts.    🙂
