Planned Parenthood

Opinion/Analysis: Why Planned Parenthood must be defunded

President Donald Trump tried to make a deal this week, and it was really simple. Planned Parenthood could continue to receive its $500 million in federal funding annually, if it would stop performing abortions. It was a non-starter. “Planned Parenthood is proud to provide abortion — a necessary service that’s as vital to our mission as birth control or cancer screenings,” Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood wrote on Twitter in response to Mr. Trump’s proposal. But I thought abortions were only 3 percent of its service activity — and that no taxpayer money actually went to fund them. Now Ms. Richards is saying abortions are a vital part of Planned Parenthood’s existence, and the organization won’t go on without them. It’s all mind-boggling. Planned Parenthood’s prohibited from using federal funds to provide abortions. The Hyde Amendment, which was signed into law in 1976, bars the use of taxpayer money to pay for abortions except in the cases of rape, incest, or danger to a pregnant women’s health. Of course, that’s all a farce — a fact that was proven by Ms. Richards rejecting Mr. Trump’s proposal outright. Since money is fungible, taxpayer funds are used by the organization to free up its overhead costs, so it can subsidize its abortion clinics. Money saved in one area, can be used in another. Other than Planned Parenthood’s pledges it doesn’t directly use federal dollars on abortions, there’s no evidence to suggest taxpayer monies aren’t what’s paying a clinician’s salary or maintaining an abortion room. It’s also Planned Parenthood’s biggest business. Ms. Richards likes to talk about how the organization is a health care provider, in that it does cancer screenings (no Planned Parenthood clinic has a mammogram machine), birth control, and checkups — but in reality that’s not what generates their income. A whopping 86 percent of the organization’s non-government provided revenue is garnered from the abortions it provides, generating a significant portion of its profit. Moreover, there’s been several cases where Planned Parenthood has, in fact, billed taxpayers for abortions. You see, the Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funds from being used specifically for abortions, but it doesn’t account for state dollars, vis-a-vis Medicaid programs. Seventeen states allow for elective abortions to be reimbursed by Medicaid. According to research compiled by, in California alone, it appears taxpayers foot the bill for about 80,000 abortions a year. Moreover, federal and state audits compiled by the Alliance Defending Freedom on Planned Parenthood have revealed staggering cases of waste, fraud and abuse at the organization — and examples where it was billing federal taxpayers for abortions. In 2013, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of the Inspector General conducted a Medicaid Integrity report, and found several states were improperly claiming federal monies for family planning services. California overcharged the federal government for the services, some which HHS found weren’t even related to family planning. A similar audit in 2008, which focused solely on New York, found hundreds of thousands of abortion-related claims were improperly billed to Medicaid by labeling them “family planning.” Planned Parenthood submits practically all of its billing to the state and the federal government as “family planning,” thereby obscuring the lines of what is an abortion versus a birth control visit, even further. It comes as no surprise that Ms. Richards would absolutely shut down an offer by Mr. Trump to stop performing abortions. She runs the largest abortion-chain in the nation, committing one-third of all of them. Planned Parenthood serviced 2.5 million clients in 2015, according to their annual report. According to Fox News, while that number may seem high, it means that 98 percent of women of reproductive age will never set foot in a Planned Parenthood clinic any given year for health care. It’s an abortion provider. Period. It’s time to federally defund.

Agreed!!  As we’ve said numerous times here at The Daily Buzz..  This is NOT about the legality of abortions.  It’s about forcing taxpayers to pay for them, and Planned Parenthood’s (PP) brazen lies and deceit regarding what it actually does with taxpayer dollars.  PP has every right to exist.  But, it doesn’t have the right to force me to pay for it.  Trump’s offer was eminently fair, and by calling PP’s bluff, they have been exposed for who and what they really are.  It IS time to federally defund it altogether.  Thanks to Kelly Riddell for this outstanding op/ed.   🙂

Opinion/Analysis: Planned Parenthood Doesn’t Need Our Taxes

What the government giveth, the government almost never taketh away, and that’s what Planned Parenthood has been counting on. Planned Parenthood is an industrial-scale baby abattoir responsible for more than 300,000 American deaths annually and a degradation of human dignity on the order of Josef Mengele, and the urgent issue of the day is whether it should be privately or publicly funded. Democrats are for the latter. Republicans are of the more modest opinion that if you want to slaughter your child in utero, you should have to pay for it yourself. That is what would happen if congressional Republicans succeed in defunding Planned Parenthood, which they currently plan to do as part of the process of dismantling President Obama’s Affordable Care Act. Planned Parenthood is the recipient of more than $500 million annually in taxpayer dollars ($528.4 million in fiscal year 2013–14), or about 40 percent of its annual revenue. Under the Hyde amendment, the organization is technically prohibited from using this money to finance abortions. In reality, the amendment simply provides a $500-million cushion atop which Planned Parenthood can conduct its slaughterous business — and the technical separation of funds depends entirely on Planned Parenthood being scrupulous in its accounting, which it isn’t, to put it mildly. (It’s worth noting, too, that the most recent Democratic presidential nominee promised to end the Hyde amendment, which was an admirably honest middle finger to well over half the country.) Since the business of abortion is unseemly, Planned Parenthood justifies its reception of public munificence by insisting that the taxpayer subsidies are necessary to guarantee “women’s health” or to provide “reproductive health care,” the latter a vague constellation of services that range from pap smears and cervical-cancer screenings to dismembering babies. It goes conveniently unremarked that it was not conservatives who bundled those services together. No one forced Planned Parenthood to marry its cancer-screening and other services (which conservatives have been happy to fund through other institutions) to a morally dubious practice that the vast majority of Americans finds wretch-inducing. It goes equally unremarked that Planned Parenthood is the happy beneficiary of extraordinary private largesse. In the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in November, for example, celebrities such as Katy Perry and Amy Schumer encouraged their social-media followers to donate to Planned Parenthood “in Mike Pence’s name.” John Oliver used his HBO show (which has an across-all-platforms audience somewhere in the single-digit millions) to do the same. In September 2015, children’s author Daniel Handler gave Planned Parenthood $1 million. Such things go unremarked because Planned Parenthood’s desire for public funding has nothing to do with money, of which there is plenty available, deep-pocketed liberals being easy to come by. Its real aim is to impose a radically refashioned vision of society on anyone who, for any reason, might prefer something different. Planned Parenthood, with its roots in early-20th-century eugenics, is the keystone institution in the progressive social movement that has set about to overthrow the notion that religious doctrine, cultural custom, or even biological fact might impose upon a person some duty they cannot shake off. So it is that the party of Science! conveniently ignores the biologically indisputable fact that abortion involves two bodies, not one, professing instead that there is a magical moment at which a human being becomes a “person” with a constitutionally protected right to life. Prior to this, the dogma goes, that person was an indeterminate clump of cells with no moral status. Why it is that all enwombed clumps of cells unfailingly transform into human beings rather than hedgehogs, grapefruits, or iPods is apparently another of those abiding and unfathomable mysteries, like the origin of the cosmos or the material state of Jell-O. Abortion is, in other words, the respite of the selfish, the escape hatch by which to avoid a cumbersome responsibility. It is a technological “solution” to the “problem” of life. The government — and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and anyone who is against waging “war” on women — needs to fund it not because it is unaffordable but because everyone needs to endorse the type of person who wants to be able to abort her child, the type of person who wants to be duty-bound to nothing and no one except herself. Those who would welcome this reimagining seem to be oblivious to, or heedless of, the consequences, which are not restricted to mother and child. The violence of abortion severs the bonds between generations, denying the responsibilities we owe to those past and those to come, and it severs the bonds that join a community, denying the responsibilities we owe to those we live alongside. Abortion is the decision to cut oneself off from the world. Are the loneliness and pain that accompany it really so mysterious? Over the past year, particularly strident abortion advocates have begun encouraging women with the exhortation “Shout Your Abortion,” a PR campaign in which spiritually wounded mothers publicly boast about killing at least one of their children. This is abortion advocacy at its most vicious, attempting to turn self-destructive violence into liberating triumph. Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers do not have clients; they have victims. Defunding is the least of what they should face.

Agreed.  The issue of whether or not abortion should be legal in the United States has been settled…at least for now.  But, given Planned Parenthood’s (PP) abhorrent involvement in the gruesome selling of body parts and such warrants a federal investigation.  And, we as taxpayers should NOT be forced to pay for it’s existence.  Personally, I couldn’t care less if an adult with informed consent and so on decides to have a legal abortion.  Just don’t ask me to pay for it.  Fair enough?  That outstanding op/ed was written by Ian Tuttle.

Key charge dropped against pro-life activist in Planned Parenthood sting

A Texas judge on Monday tossed out a key charge against the pro-life activist whose undercover video rocked Planned Parenthood. A misdemeanor charge of purchase and sale of human organs was dropped in the case against David Daleiden, founder of Center for Medical Progress, apparently due to a technicality in the Harris County prosecutor’s indictment. The move leaves Daleiden still facing a felony charge of tampering with a government ID. “[The dismissal] of trafficking human organs is the latest confirmation that the indictments from a runaway grand jury in Houston were a politically-motivated sham all along,” read a statement posted on CMP’s website. “The dismissal of the first indictment today sends a strong message to Planned Parenthood and their political cronies that colluding to suppress the First Amendment rights of citizen journalists will never work.” On Tuesday, the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said it will not fight the judge’s decision and will instead focus on prosecuting the felony charge, according to KHOU. A hearing has been set for this July. The dismissal was based on the prosecution’s failure to prove that any fees offered or paid for aborted fetal parts as part of the sting operation were not covered by exceptions like physician or transport fees. “The indictment’s failure to negate this exception renders it void,” reads a copy of the judge’s decision..

‘Appalling’: Rep seeks HHS probe as emails shed light on abortion clinic harvesting

A fresh trove of documents released by a House panel probing abortion clinics and companies trading in body parts shows the extent of their fetal tissue harvesting operation — and what the committee’s chairwoman alleges are violations of the law. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., head of the House Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, is now making a fresh request for a federal probe. “I believe the investigation will move forward because this is so appalling,” she told One of the more striking exchanges was contained in a set of January 2015 emails. When a customer inquired with company StemExpress about the availability of aborted tissue, an employee promptly emailed back seemingly while an abortion was under way: “There is one case currently in the room, I will let you know how the limbs and calvarium [skull] look to see if you are able to take them in about fifteen minutes.” Less than an hour later, the employee reported, “the calvarium is mostly intact,” while “the limbs … are totally intact.” The House committee for months has been probing whether abortion clinics and companies buying and selling body parts in exchanges like this were profiting – which, if so, would be a felony under a law signed by President Bill Clinton. StemExpress, which worked with Planned Parenthood, is a California-based company that procures body parts and fetal tissue and sells to researchers. “What we have seen is how this has moved to a business and contractual agreements,” Blackburn said. Blackburn claims it appears some technicians even reviewed medical files without initial permission from patients. She has asked the Department of Health and Human Services to probe whether StemExpress and three California abortion clinics might have shared so much information that federal privacy law and research regulations were violated. The three clinics under review that contracted with StemExpress are Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, which says it has more than 30 centers throughout California and Nevada; Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific; and Family Planning Specialist Medical Group. The select panel was appointed after undercover videos seemingly showed Planned Parenthood staff trying to sell aborted baby body parts. Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, who addressed the Planned Parenthood Action Fund in Washington Friday, has adamantly defended the group against allegations of wrongdoing. Democrats have criticized the investigation and recently said the panel is putting people in danger.

Soo..  Let me get his straight..  Hillary, and the rest of her fascist Democrat supporters, believe that looking into this seemingly barbaric situation is “putting people in danger.”  Huh?  How’s that?  It’s all smoke and mirrors, of course.  Hillary and these other Dems get a LOT of money from Planned Parenthood (which gets a lot of money from we-the-taxpayers), and these other abortion providers.  So they feel obligated to come to PP’s defense, and they use code words like “women’s healthcare.”  To them, if you are investigating PP, you are a mean insensitive Republican who is putting women at risk, and so on.  It’s the same old vomit-worthy talking points from the same old play book that the Dems play over and over and over.  This isn’t about whether or not abortion should be legal.  For the record, we believe it SHOULD be legal, subject to common sense restrictions and regulations.  And yet, that is exactly the veiled argument that Hillary and the rest of these sleazy Dems are suggesting to cloud the discussion.  What some of these clinics, and StemExpress, are doing is beyond barbaric.  So, kudos to Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and her committee for looking into this horrifying, and barbaric, underground cottage industry.  Anyway, to read the rest of this disturbing article, click on the text above.

Poll defies narrative, shows most Americans favor GOP plan to defund Planned Parenthood

A little-noticed poll is challenging the widely touted narrative that most Americans oppose GOP efforts to defund Planned Parenthood. The nationwide poll conducted by the Robert Morris University Polling Institute found that 53.3 percent of those surveyed support moving federal funding from Planned Parenthood to community clinics that do not offer abortions, while 31.5 percent are opposed. One of Planned Parenthood’s top talking points is that polls have shown that most Americans disagree with recent Republican defunding efforts. So what accounts for the difference? The key lies in the wording of the question, the pollster said. While previous surveys have asked for a straight yes-or-no response on defunding, the RMU poll used a more detailed question that reflects the recent GOP proposals. “Congressional Republicans favor shifting Planned Parenthood federal funds to community clinics that perform the same services, but do not perform abortions,” the RMU question says. “Would you say you support or oppose this plan?” The results of the RMU poll, released Dec. 2, came as a near-mirror image of those released Monday by USA Today/Suffolk University, whose survey asked “Should federal funding for Planned Parenthood be eliminated?” The result was 58 percent disagreed and 33 percent agreed. “Now 14 polls confirm that Americans oppose ‘defunding’ Planned Parenthood,” said Planned Parenthood Action Fund on Twitter after the USA Today/Suffolk survey was release. “But it’s politics as usual in Congress.” The conservative Media Research Center accused media outlets of “censoring” the RMU poll because it deviates from the Planned Parenthood narrative. The RMU survey was conducted before the Nov. 27 shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs. Pollster Philip Harold, a professor at the Pittsburgh university, told the MRC that in the past, “results from the RMU Polling Institute have gotten traction on political topics but not this time.” “One of the cardinal rules in polling is to clearly indicate the alternative in the question and a poll question that doesn’t do this is flawed,” he said in a press release. “Because the wording of this poll reflects the actual proposal, it is more accurate.” The RMU poll also showed a surprisingly high percentage of support for the GOP defunding plan among Democrats. While 47.3 percent of Democrats opposed the Republican proposal, 42.7 percent supported it.

Isn’t that interesting?  When the question is asked honestly, more Americans are for cutting off federal government funding  of Planned Parenthood (PP).  This has nothing to do with PP or it’s mission..or even about the legality of abortion.  It never was.  It’s about whether we-the-people should be forcibly required to pay, out of our hard-earned taxes, for it’s services which do include abortions (something a LOT of Americans have a problem with).  OR, should those who want the services, pay for it themselves.  That’s what this is all about.  But, til now, PP, and their supporters in the Democrat party have been successful in disingenuously framing the debate around the legality of abortion…or as Hillary and other nazis in the Democrat party would say, “womens health” issues.  After all, who would be against wanting quality health for women?  Nobody, right?  And, so they’ve framed the debate so that if your FOR PP, then you’re for “womens health issues,” and should vote Democrat.  By contrast, according to PP and their Democrat supporters, if you’re against “funding” for PP, then you’re a mean Republican and against health for women.  Of course it’s all bs….and a completely false argument.  But, it’s been a successful propaganda campaign thus far.  I’m glad that lie is finally being exposed.

Planned Parenthood blames ‘hateful speech’ for clinic shooting; GOP leaders cite left-wing agenda

Planned Parenthood officials on Sunday seemingly blamed the “hateful speech” of conservative lawmakers and GOP presidential contenders for contributing to Friday’s deadly shooting at a Colorado clinic, but Republicans said the left is trying to use the tragedy for political gain. Friday’s shooting at a Planned Parenthood facility in Colorado Springs left three people dead, including a police officer. The presumed gunman, 57-year-old Robert Dear, reportedly made comments about “baby parts” after he was arrested, an apparent reference to the recent controversy surrounding Planned Parenthood and the alleged sale of fetal organs. Planned Parenthood officials charge that some conservative figures have created a climate in which extremists such as Mr. Dear feel that it’s acceptable to target pro-choice organizations. “We’ve experienced so much hateful language, hateful speech,” Vicki Cowart, president and CEO of Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains, said on ABC’s “This Week.” “I think politicians have been in that conversation, and, I mean, you know that the airwaves are full of anti-abortion language, of anti-Planned Parenthood accusations, much of which is false in nature. “And we at Planned Parenthood are first and foremost a health care provider. We provide life-saving services to all kinds of folks, men and women, across our communities. And the tirades against Planned Parenthood in the last few months have really been over the top.” Republicans accused liberals of trying to use the tragedy to demonize anyone who opposes abortion, public funding for Planned Parenthood or the sale of baby parts. “Anyone who tries to link this terrible tragedy to anyone who opposes abortion or anyone who opposes the sale of body parts is this is typical left-wing tactics,” 2016 GOP presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said on “Fox News Sunday.”

Agreed, Carly!!  And it’s beyond out of control the self-serving rhetoric coming out of liberal Dems.. Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper (D-CO) even suggested that this horrible tragedy was, in part, to be blamed on not only Republican politicians, but talk radio and even bloggers like yours truly here at The Daily Buzz..  How crazy is that?!?!  But, it’s the typical crap we have come to expect from these self-righteous, liberal Dems.

Planned Parenthood chapters among those receiving new Obamacare grants

Planned Parenthood chapters in Iowa, Missouri and Montana received just over $1 million in federal grant funding Wednesday to help Obamacare customers sign up for coverage, even as Republicans in Congress battle to strip the women’s health provider of any federal funding at all amid raging controversy over its abortion practice. The chapters were among 100 recipients of $67 million in so-called “navigator” grants doled out by the Obama administration Wednesday to nonprofits in 34 states that help people get covered under the Affordable Care Act. Two thirds of the recipients had received grants in previous years, and a pair of the Planned Parenthood chapters — Planned Parenthood of the Heartland in Iowa and Intermountain Planned Parenthood in Montana — also received funding in 2013 and 2014. Congressional Republicans were outraged by the grants in previous years, but the fight has taken on new meaning in the wake of videos released by the Center for Medical Progress that appear to show Planned Parenthood officials negotiating sales of fetal organs for research. Planned Parenthood has said the videos are misleading, and deny illegal behavior. The House Judiciary Committee has announced it will hold hearing on Wednesday on the explosive undercover videos. Wednesday’s navigator announcement said the Iowa chapter will receive $304,373 to cover 77 counties, the Montana chapter will get $337,555 to focus on rural groups, including American Indians. In Missouri, the Planned Parenthood of St. Louis will receive $388,787, particularly to reach minority groups and Latinos, Bosnian and Vietnamese populations with limited English proficiency. In response to questions about Wednesday’s award, a spokesman for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said the nonprofits were selected through a competitive grant process based on factors outlined in a Funding Opportunity Announcement, or “FOA.” “Their applications were reviewed by an objective review panel and received a score based on their ability to address the requirements of the FOA related to connecting uninsured individuals to coverage options,” spokesman Aaron Albright said. As Congress returns from its recess next week, a faction of conservative lawmakers have threatened to block any government funding bill this month that includes funds for Planned Parenthood, raising the specter of a second government shutdown in three years. But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican, who wants to avoid a shutdown, said in an interview with a Kentucky TV station this week that his party lack the votes to halt the payments. “The way you make a law in this country, the Congress has to pass it, the president has to sign it,” he told WYMT. “The president’s made it very clear he’s not going to sign any bill that includes defunding of Planned Parenthood … that’s another issue that awaits a new president.” Even a government shutdown wouldn’t stop all funding for Planned Parenthood, the Congressional Research Service said in a memo Tuesday. Planned Parenthood gets most of its federal money from Medicaid, the government’s health program for the poor, which gets advance funding. That means that even should Congress and President Obama not settle on funding by the beginning of fiscal year 2016, Medicaid will get money, and will be able to fund Planned Parenthood. Some “minor” funds that rely on discretionary grant programs could disappear, but the bulk of the federal money flowing to Planned Parenthood comes from funds that are already baked in, the CRS said, such as the Children’s Health Insurance Program, and other emergency funding that can be spent even in a shutdown, such as the Community Development Block Grant.

Again, we really aren’t interested in getting into the whole abortion debate here at The Daily Buzz. We’re far more interested in the fact that this is another example of waste, fraud, and abuse of our hard-earned tax dollars. In no way should we as taxpayers be forced to pay for ANYTHING that Planned Parenthood does. And, that is really the bottom line.

New Planned Parenthood Video: Sometimes Intact Fetuses ‘Just Fell Out’

The Center for Medical Progress is out with another horrifying video exposing Planned Parenthood’s practice of harvesting the organs from aborted fetuses for money. One of the people that appears in this latest video is Cate Dyer, the CEO of StemExpress, whose sister was the health policy advisor for Republican Speaker of the House John Boehner until very recently. According to CMP’s press release accompanying the video: The video features undercover conversations with Dr. Katharine Sheehan, the long-time medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest until 2013; Perrin Larton, the Procurement Manager for ABR; and Cate Dyer, the CEO of rival fetal tissue procurement company StemExpress. Sheehan tells actors posing as a new human biologics company that at Planned Parenthood Pacific Southwest, “We have already a relationship with ABR.” Sheehan explains, “We’ve been using them for over 10 years, really a long time, just kind of renegotiated the contract. They’re doing the big collections for government-level collections and things like that.” When one of the actors negotiates, “We return a portion of our fees to the clinics,” Sheehan responds eagerly, “Right, get a toe in and make it, make a pro–alright.” … Perrin Larton, the Procurement Manager at ABR, is shown describing ABR’s fetal tissue harvesting practice to a prospective buyer. “I literally have had women come in and they’ll go in the O.R. and they’re back out in 3 minutes, and I’m going, ‘What’s going on?’ Oh yeah, the fetus was already in the vaginal canal whenever we put her in the stirrups, it just fell out,” she explains of situations where there has been a great enough degree of cervical dilation to procure an intact fetus. ABR, founded in 1989 by CEO Linda Tracy, charges $340 per second-trimester fetal tissue specimen, yet seems less concerned about tissue quality than other harvesting companies: “Whenever we have a smooth portion of liver, we think that’s good!” says Larton.

Horrifying…indeed!  If you think you can handle it, and want to see the video, click on the text above..  What a bunch of barbarians!

Planned Parenthood admits it manipulates rules on fetal organ sales to maximize profit

In a letter to Congress intended to defend its practices and attack its hidden-video critics, Planned Parenthood wound up lending credence to accusations that it manipulates rules on selling fetal organs to maximize profit. Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America, admitted in an 11-page letter Thursday that its affiliates have accepted payments ranging from $45 to $60 “per tissue specimen” from abortions, but said that they were reimbursements to cover costs, which federal law allows. But she also said that “adjustments that facilitate fetal tissue donations rarely occur at our few clinics that offer women this service,” prompting David Daleiden of the pro-life Center for Medical Progress to declare that she had proved the point of his group’s investigation — that “adjustments occur.” Several of the videos showed Planned Parenthood representatives haggling over prices — and in one case joking about wanting a Lamborghini — with people they thought represented biotech firm purchasers. “Both of these admissions speak to Planned Parenthood’s financial benefit and profit motive for supplying fetal tissue, and both are the points CMP’s videos have documented and illustrated from the very beginning,” Mr. Daleiden said in a statement. He disputed Ms. Richards‘ contention that the $45 to $60 per specimen payment was charged only to cover costs, saying that tissue-procurement organizations “handle all dissection, packaging and shipping of fetal organs” while Planned Parenthood spends “10 minutes consenting a patient.” “And when a Planned Parenthood doctor manipulates the abortion to get higher-quality baby parts, they are prizing Planned Parenthood’s financial interests ahead of women’s health,” he said. Ms. Richards‘ letter comes with four House and Senate committees investigating concerns raised in eight undercover videos released by the center since July 14, which show Planned Parenthood and other officials discussing fetal tissue payments and surgical techniques designed to keep valuable organs intact. “I am writing today because we are doing as much as we can to collect the facts and share them with you,” Ms. Richards said. “We are also cooperating with the House and Senate committees that have requested relevant information from us.” She also described the results of an analysis conducted by a research company at the behest of Planned Parenthood, saying the review found evidence of “selective editing,” “splices,” distortions” and other “manipulation” in the undercover videos. “This review ultimately concluded that the manipulation of the videos and the transcripts means they have no evidentiary value in a legal context and cannot be relied upon for any official inquiries unless supplemented by the original video in unaltered form,” said Ms. Richards. The unedited videos have all been posted. She insisted that the videos lack “any credible evidence that Planned Parenthood has done anything wrong.” “All of Mr. Daleiden’s efforts to entrap our affiliates into potentially illegal contracts failed,” she added. Mr. Daleiden countered by dismissing the report as a “complete failure,” calling it a “desperate, 11th-hour attempt to pay their hand-picked ‘experts’ to distract from the crimes documented on video.” The “forensic analysis” was conducted by Fusion GPS, led by a former Wall Street Journal reporter and described by the conservative Weekly Standard as “an opposition research firm with ties to the Democratic Party.” Mr. Daleiden also noted that the analysis found “no evidence of audio manipulation.” “The absence of bathroom breaks and waiting periods between meetings does not change the hours of dialogue with top-level Planned Parenthood executives eager to manipulate abortion procedures to get high-quality baby parts for financially profitable sale,” he said. In her letter, Ms. Richards revealed that the videos have resulted in a dramatic drop in Planned Parenthood’s involvement in providing fetal tissue for medical research.

Oh, I’m sure! This whole issue is beyond disturbing. It should make any clear thinking person want to vomit. Regardless of where you stand on the abortion issue, THIS is very wrong. And, it’s nauseating to think that we are forced to pay for these sorts of things with our hard-earned tax dollars. To that end, we join the chorus of those who are calling on Congress to defund ALL public funding of Planned Parenthood. That organization has every right to exist. But, they do NOT have a right to have the American tax payer fund their operations. If someone wants to use their services, that’s fine. But, don’t ask me or anyone else to pay for it.

Planned Parenthood kept aborted babies alive to harvest heart, brain: ex-technician

An ex-technician for a tissue harvesting company said she saw an aborted baby kept alive so that its heart could be harvested. Holly O’Donnell, a former blood and tissue procurement technician for StemExpress, a biotech start-up, said she was observing a nearly intact late-term male fetus at the Planned Parenthood Mar Monte’s Alameda clinic in San Jose, Calif. A supervisor just tapped the heart “and it starts beating,” Ms. O’Donnell said. The Center for Medical Progress, which has now released seven undercover videos about fetal tissue collection and distribution, said state and federal laws require that the same treatment be given to an infant born-alive after an abortion as to a normally delivered baby. California law also prohibits any kind of experimentation on a fetus with a discernible heartbeat, the group said Wednesday. StemExpress recently ended its relationship with two California Planned Parenthood affiliates to purchase their aborted fetus parts and resell them for scientific experimentation. Ms. O’Donnell, who has been featured in earlier videos, said she was asked to harvest an intact brain from the late-term male fetus whose heart was still beating after the abortion. A StemExpress supervisor “gave me the scissors and told me that I had to cut down the middle of the face. I can’t even describe what that feels like,” Ms. O’Donnell said. David Daleiden, the project lead for the video project, said the undercover footage and interviews show that fetuses are sometimes delivered “intact and alive” before their organs are harvested. He and others are calling for the federal government to cease its $500 million a year support to Planned Parenthood, and for the organization to be investigated. Planned Parenthood has denounced the videos as fraudulent and misleading, and says the American people do not want it to be defunded, due to its major role in providing reproductive health care to women, especially those who are low income. A Senate vote to defund Planned Parenthood and send the money to community health clinics failed in June. Pro-life groups are using the videos to step up their calls for investigations and defunding of Planned Parenthood. Rallies and protests at nearly 300 Planned Parenthood clinics are planned for Aug. 22.

Wow… For the record, The Center for Medical Progress clearly has an agenda, and they’re pretty open about it. PP is not quite as honest, or honest, about ITS agenda. So, don’t buy that “womens’ reproductive rights” talking point crap that PP and those in the Democrat party heirarchy spew out when PP’s practices are called into question. Here at The Daily Buzz we tend to NOT get into the abortion issue that much. There are plenty of other outlets for that topic. And, while we recognize that abortion, subject to certain common sense constraints and conditions (i.e. parental consent, waiting periods, etc.), should probably be legal, we shouldn’t be forced to pay for it through our hard-earned taxes! To that end, we DO call for all federal funding of PP, and other similar institutions that provide such services, to end. I mean, c’mon.. We shouldn’t be forced to pay for someone else to have an abortion. When that argument is framed that way, MOST Americans (when polled) agree. We all have the right to “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness (NOT the guarantee!).” But, NOWHERE in the U.S. Constitution, or in our Bill of Rights, does it say women in America have an absolute right to an abortion courtesy of the taxpayers. That’s beyond ridiculous, and to suggest otherwise is unfounded legally, and offensive. What about the rights (especially religious!) of those who may object to such things? They shouldn’t be forced to violate their belief systems. Anyway, that whole can of worms aside.. IF what Ms. O’Donnell is suggesting here actually happened, then people need to go to jail. Period. It is hard to imagine how in our great country such barbarism could happen without consequence…and the American taxpayer pays for it. Again, if this really did happen, and there are videos and other forms of evidence which prove it, then these disgusting butchers need to be charged accordingly. This isn’t the Middle Ages…and we as a society should not tolerate this…much less be required to pay for it!
