NBC Prompts Americans to Confess Their Climate Change Offenses

NBC News is prompting Americans to confess their climate change transgressions as part of a project titled “Climate Confessions.” As Democrat presidential candidates – as well as prominent members of Congress, such as members of the far-left “Squad” – continue to push aggressive forms of the Green New Deal, NBC is paralleling their concerns by encouraging Americans to anonymously admit their climate change faux pas. “Even those who care deeply about the planet’s future can slip up now and then,” NBC’s “Climate Confessions” reads. “Tell us: Where do you fall short in preventing climate change? Do you blast the A/C? Throw out half your lunch? Grill a steak every week? Share your anonymous confession with NBC News,” it adds. Willing confessants can express their remorse in one of six categories– plastics, meat, transportation, energy, paper, and food waste. Some of the confessions appear to be genuine in nature, with many anonymous individuals expressing guilt for air travel and excessive Q-tip usage. “My sister had a lot of metal straws but I thought they were annoying so I threw them out,” one user wrote under “plastics.” “I travel often to conferences (flying). I think about the emissions + try to justify it with, ‘the plane is going there anyway,’” another user admitted. Someone else confessed that they fly on private jets and “often burn an extra 500 gallons of fuel to save 10 minutes.” “I use enough Q-tips for a family of 8. I have an addiction to them in hygiene purposes, makeup application, even cleaning,” another individual confessed. “I LOVE meat. But I love the earth more. Vegan for over 4 years now,” another bragged. However, the confessions did not just come from genuinely guilty parties. Many of the “confessions” came from individuals who openly oppose the left’s climate change agenda, and they used the platform to mocked NBC’s effort. “I would rather the whole planet burn than give up steak,” one user wrote. “Kick rocks hippies.” “’Confessions’” implies I have something to feel guilty about. I don’t. I only conserve electricity to lower my power bill,” a user explained, with another adding, “I run my AC 24/7. I’m not going to sweat to appease this climate religion.” Some users decried the left’s virtue-signaling on meat consumption, writing, “I think the climate has always been changing, and I’m not going to stop eating meat because of cult-like manipulation by the left.” “I require at least half a roll of TP when wiping,” another confessed. NBC’s project follows the left’s recent push to aggressively push a climate change agenda. On Wednesday, teen climate change activists – including Greta Thunberg and Jamie Margolin – appeared before a joint hearing before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and Select Committee on the Climate Crisis and decried the U.S. for not doing enough to combat what they say is the looming threat of a climate catastrophe. “Solving the climate crisis goes against everything that our country was unfortunately built on — colonialism, slavery, and natural resource extraction. This is why the youth are calling for a new era altogether,” Margolin, a Seattle native, told lawmakers. She also declared that her generation should no longer be known as “Generation Z,” replacing it with “Generation GND.” “It is right here, testifying before you, that I am proud to announce the history is being made,” she declared. “You’ve heard of the Reagan era, the New Deal era. Well, youth are bringing about the era of the Green New Deal.” MSNBC is expected to host a two-day climate change forum at Georgetown University with Democrat presidential candidates, although Joe Biden (D), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), and Beto O’Rourke (D) are expected to skip the event.

If that about made you vomit, you’re not alone.  You really can’t make this stuff up, folks.  And, NBC and MSNBC still don’t get why Trump and others refer to them as “fake news.”  This is beyond crazy..  Think I’ll grill a steak tonight, and use a Q-tip or two for something…  Unreal..

Comcast hopes for a TV windfall from Super Bowl, Olympics

Comcast’s NBC is airing both the Super Bowl and the Olympics in February, a double-whammy sports extravaganza that the company expects to yield $1.4 billion in ad sales, helping it justify the hefty price it’s paying for both events. NBC is banking heavily on these sports events since traditional TV ratings have slumped in recent years. Live sports are marquee TV events that draw most of the largest TV audiences, but even those ratings have declined. More Americans are dumping their cable packages — Comcast lost 33,000 video customers in the fourth quarter and 151,000 for all of 2017 — and advertisers are following consumers to their phones. Spending on U.S. TV ads is expected to grow an anemic 0.4 percent this year, according to eMarketer. In the October-December quarter, NBCUniversal’s broadcast TV ad revenue fell 6.5 percent, after a boost in 2016 from election ads. As it adapts to a slowing TV market, NBC is continuing some digital efforts from Rio and expanding others to meet viewers wherever they are — whether in front of a TV or not. The Super Bowl reaches more than 100 million people in the U.S., outstripping every other TV event. It’s the most expensive ad time on TV. This year’s Super Bowl is Feb. 4 and follows a two-year slump in regular-season NFL ratings, according to ESPN . But NBC has said it is not worried about a lack of interest. The game is an event that “transcends sport and even the game itself,” Dan Lovinger, an NBC Sports ad-sales executive, said in January, about three weeks before the game. NBC said then that it had nearly sold out Super Bowl ad spots and that on average, companies are paying more than $5 million for 30-second ads during the game. Kantar Media expects rates slightly higher than last year’s $5.05 million. Fox aired the Super Bowl in 2017, and said it had $500 million in ad revenues for the day. NBC has predicted about $500 million for the game and associated events this year. NBC also makes money from ads during events before and after the game and a special episode that day of its hit drama, “This is Us.” For the first time, it’s selling ads for the game that will only appear on its app or website. NBC is paying $963 million for the broadcast rights to the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, which follow a Summer Olympics in Rio two years ago that disappointed in some ways. NBC ruled the airwaves during the Rio Games, besting other networks, and raked in $250 million in profit. But ratings for the prime-time broadcast declined compared to the London Olympics in 2012, so NBC had to give advertisers some extra ad slots to make up for it. This time around, NBC will sell ads for this Olympics based on total viewership, counting cable and digital viewers as well as those who tune into NBC proper. That gives them more leverage with advertisers, said Brian Wieser, an ad analyst for Pivotal Research Group. NBC expects to sell more than $900 million worth of ads for the Olympics, which it says would be the highest ever for a Winter Games. (Summer Games are more popular.) The company is offering more hours of programming this year, both on TV and online, than it did for the Sochi Games in 2014. Past Olympics have been criticized by fans for tape-delayed events. This year, NBC will air its nightly prime-time broadcast simultaneously across the country. That means the West Coast evening broadcast will start early, at 5 p.m.

NBC’s Lester Holt ripped for saying he’s been ‘treated with respect’ in North Korea

NBC News anchor Lester Holt is facing backlash on social media after he said he and his crew were “treated with respect” by North Korean officials during their trip to the Masikryong Ski Resort in the totalitarian country. Mr. Holt was reporting Monday from the ski slopes where athletes from North Korea and South Korea will train for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. NBC News cameras showed dozens of colorful and seemingly cheerful North Koreans enjoying the “bunny slope” as Mr. Holt described his crew’s experience traveling to the Hermit Kingdom from Beijing. “This is the bunny slope at a very modern ski resort here in North Korea,” Mr. Holt said. “We’re here because some of the athletes from the South and North, based on this new alliance, will be doing some of their training here. It’s been announced the North Koreans will field 22 athletes in the upcoming Winter Games in South Korea. That’s fueling some sense of hope and optimism of cooperation in other ways between the two countries.” “We arrived in North Korea on Saturday, we flew the North Korean state airline,” Mr. Holt continued. “It’s about an hour and a half flight from Beijing, they even make an announcement in flight when you eventually cross the border into North Korea. We quickly passed through immigrations, went through a very lengthy and very detailed customs inspection of not only our equipment but our personal items down to the novels we were reading, even in one case, a toothbrush of our crew members. “But we have been treated with respect here,” he added. “We had been invited and are guests of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We stayed in a guest house outside Pyongyang last night and then made our way to this ski resort to get a look at a part of North Korea that most Americans don’t see and certainly a part they would like us to see.” The Masikryong Ski Resort, built by North Korean soldiers and civilians in just 10 months, is a pet project by dictator Kim Jong-un to create the illusion of wealth and prestige in the impoverished nation. NBC News reported last January that men, women and children — some as young as 11 and 12 — are tasked with shoveling snow at the luxury resort where trucks and snowplows are virtually nonexistent. Mr. Holt was accused of peddling regime propaganda.

..which is exactly what he did.  What a moron!  I’m sure Kim Jong Ding Dong is laughing his way to the local communist propaganda print shop.  Thanks a lot, Lester..

Tucker Carlson: NBC News President Should Resign or Be Fired Immediately

Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” host Tucker Carlson ripped NBC News head Noah Oppenheim for the claim his organization “encouraged” Ronan Farrow to report out the sexual harassment allegations aimed at Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein. Carlson explained why NBC News was “lying” about two facets of its claim, noting Farrow’s remarks explaining why he took the story to The New Yorker magazine instead of having had NBC News run it. “So let’s be clear – NBC is lying,” Carlson said. “Yesterday, news division head Noah Oppenheim claimed NBC, quote ‘encouraged Farrow to report that story.” The opposite is true. They pressured him to drop it. Oppenheim says, quote ‘NBC gave him resources to report the story over many, many months.’ Maybe except for a camera crew when Farrow tried to interview an alleged rape victim. Oppenheim says, quote ‘Farrow’s story was not the story we were looking at when we made our judgment.’ Yet another lie. As Farrow told Rachel Maddow two nights ago, he finished the bulk of his reporting on Weinstein when he went to The New Yorker. That is why the magazine accepted his piece in the first place.” After playing highlights from Farrow’s appearance on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show” earlier this week, Carlson went on to point out Oppenheim had not been upfront about any possible business relationship he had with Weinstein, which may have impacted his editorial decisionmaking regarding the story. “We’d bet money that her employer didn’t want Rachel Maddow to do that segment, but she did it anyway. Good for her. So, why did a purported news organization kill a blockbuster news story? Well, presumably we will find out at some point. This is a scandal, and the truth has a way of emerging from those in the end. One possible explanation is Noah Oppenheim. In addition to being the head of NBC News, Oppenheim is a Hollywood screenwriter with deep ties to the movie business and the Democratic Party establishment. Could it be that Oppenheim had a business relationship with Harvey Weinstein or Weinstein’s Company? It is not a far-fetched possibility at all. And yet, as of earlier today, Oppenheim and NBC when asked directly refused to say. Noah Oppenheim ought to resign immediately, and if he doesn’t, he ought to be fired immediately by NBC’s parent company, Comcast. News executives are not allowed to tell lies. They are not allowed to participate in cover-ups. They ought to answer straightforward questions straightforwardly when they don’t, you know they are corrupt. And that is exactly what NBC News is.”

Agreed!  This is a follow-up to a story we posted earlier today (scroll down about 6 articles) about what’s going on over at NBC News.  Bottom line.. It’s time for Noah to go.  He should do the right thing and resign.  But, if he won’t, then Comcast should fire him immediately.  NBC News is unbelievably liberal.  We already knew that.  But, now it is corrupt and discredited.

NBC, under fire for spiking Weinstein exposé, denies embattled news president has ties to mogul

Facing mounting pressure, NBC News on Thursday night denied that its president, Noah Oppenheim, who moonlights as a Hollywood screenwriter, had any business ties to disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Oppenheim is the executive who spiked celebrity scion Ronan Farrow’s explosive exposé on Weinstein, who was one of the most powerful people in Hollywood before a series of sexual harassment allegations derailed his career last week. “Noah has never had any relationship with [Weinstein], business or personal,” NBC News said in a statement. Oppenheim is also an active screenwriter, who in addition to his duties as NBC News president is writing a movie about the escape artist Harry Houdini for Lionsgate, a rival studio to The Weinstein Company. He also wrote the 2016 film “Jackie,” which was nominated for three Academy Awards (Oppenheim was not nominated) and he has shared writing credits on “The Maze Runner,” which received generally warm reviews, and “Allegiant,” which is “certified rotten” by Rotten Tomatoes with a failing score of 12 percent. He has also been tied to a gestating remake of “1984” by Imagine Entertainment. Oppenheim has told numerous colleagues that he is likely to return to Hollywood full time when he’s done with NBC News. Oppenheim’s representatives at CAA — who handle his movie deals — refused to answer if Oppenheim and Weinstein had any sort of business relationship.

NBC News is unbeliveably corrupt.  To read the rest of this article, click on the text above..

Downward Spiral: Megyn Kelly Hits New Viewership Low

How low is the floor for Sunday Night with Megyn Kelly’s ratings? When it comes to Kelly, absence did not make the heart grow fonder. Kelly’s show returned from a week off last night and hit another new low in total viewers. Her show could not even get more viewers than a years-old rerun of Dateline that ran the week before during the Fourth of July holiday weekend when many television viewers were not even in their homes. On Sunday, Kelly’s show got a measly 3.21 million total viewers, compared to the 3.73 million total viewers the years-old Dateline rerun got the week before. Two weeks ago, Kelly hit her previous low of 3.41 million total viewers. Again, reruns of 60 Minutes and America’s Funniest Home Videos beat her show. In the 18-49 demo, Kelly (.4 rating) still could not beat out the years-old rerun of Dateline that ran the week before (.5 rating). Variety, relying just on the 18-49 demo numbers, spun Kelly’s terrible ratings by saying it was the “first time since the new news show premiered on June 4 that it has not declined in the ratings week-to-week. Kelly originally opened to a 0.8 in the key demo, and dropped to a 0.6, 0.5, and 0.4 rating in subsequent weeks.” That’s like patting Kelly on the head for actually making contact and grounding out with a swinging bunt instead of whiffing three straight times.

We wonder if Megyn is regretting her decision to leave Fox News for NBC now..

NBC reporter takes heat for calling deadly London terror attack ‘small-bore’

One of the intelligence reporters for NBC News faced fierce backlash on social media on Wednesday for referring to London’s terror attack as “small bore.” Four people were killed and at least 20 people were injured near the British parliament in a terror attack that utilized a vehicle to plow through victims. The knife-wielding suspect was eventually subdued on Westminster Bridge, which prompted NBC’s Ken Dilanian to warn over 17,000 followers not to “freak out.” “I know it’s a big story, but every time we freak out about a small-bore terror attack we play into their hands,” Mr. Dilian said. “I covered the 7/7 bombings in London. Londoners were back on the Tube by day’s end. They are not going to be terrorized. We shouldn’t either. NBC’s @MattMcBradley reports that Londoners are not panicking. Damned right they’re not. They are going about their business.” Negative feedback followed.

Indeed!!  To read some the social media reaction, and the rest of the story, click on the text above.  This is just another example of the dominantly liberal media trying to downplay the threat of radical Islam and the lunatics affiliated with that cancerous ideology.

RNC pulls out of NBC debate set for February

Responding to the blowback against CNBC’s handling of the third GOP debate, the head of the Republican National Committee announced Friday that it was “suspending” its plans to partner with NBC News for a presidential debate next year. In a letter to Andrew Lack, the head of NBC News, RNC Chair Reince Priebus said the CNBC network, which is owned by NBCUniversal News Group, conducted the GOP debate Wednesday in “bad faith.” “I write to inform you that pending further discussion between the Republican National Committee (RNC) and our presidential campaigns, we are suspending the partnership with NBC News for the Republican primary debate at the University of Houston on February 26, 2016,” Mr. Priebus wrote. “The RNC’s sole role in the primary debate process is to ensure that our candidates are given a full and fair opportunity to lay out their vision for America’s future. We simply cannot continue with NBC without full consultation with our campaigns. “We understand that NBC does not exercise full editorial control over CNBC’s journalistic approach,” he said. “However, the network is an arm of your organization, and we need to ensure there is not a repeat performance.” Ali Zelenko, spokesperson for NBC News, called it “a disappointing development.” “However, along with our debate broadcast partners at Telemundo we will work in good faith to resolve this matter with the Republican Party,” Ms. Zelenko said in a statement. The debate in Colorado was the third of the GOP nomination contest, which the RNC hoped to have more control over following the unruly 2012 race. But the moderators in prime-time debate Wednesday lost control of the event, coming under fire from the candidates, who panned their questions as inaccurate and shallow. CNBC has since faced a barrage of criticism. “While debates are meant to include tough questions and contrast candidates’ visions and policies for the future of America, CNBC’s moderators engaged in a series of ‘gotcha’ questions, petty and mean-spirited in tone, and designed to embarrass our candidates,” Mr. Priebus said in the letter. “What took place Wednesday night was not an attempt to give the American people a greater understanding of our candidates’ policies and ideas,” he said.

Kudos to Reince!! This is a HUGE public rebuke of the dominantly liberal mainstream media…and it is a principled rebuke. I heard Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) say last night that what the RNC oughtta do for the next debate is have Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, and Sean Hannity be the moderators. Hmmm… I’d probably agree with the first two, but not Sean. Sean is a good guy and all. But, that’s a little outside his league. Rush is, well, Rush. Nuff said. And, Mark Levin is an attorney who knows the Constitution and Bill of Rights like no other…and has written books on the subject, literally. But, big picture.. I think the good Senator from the great state of Texas is on to something here.. I’d say, have FoxNews sponsor it, and have Rush and Mark be two of the moderators…along with someone like Brit Hume. That would be a VERY small nod to the establishment media as Brit is more or less retired, and came from ABC News once upon a time. He is VERY respected and measured, and would be able to balance/off-set some of the roughness from Mark.

NBC’s Mohyeldin Suggests Real American Sniper a ‘Racist’ Who Went on ‘Killing Sprees’

Ayman Mohyeldin has suggested that Chris Kyle, the real “American Sniper,” was a “racist” whose military missions were nothing less than “killing sprees.” With opinions like that, you might imagine Mohyeldin to be some unhinged bloviator from the bowels of the anti-American far left. Or, an NBC foreign correspondent [who formerly worked for Al Jazeera] who regularly reports on events in the Middle East. Which is exactly what he is. Ayman vented his bile on today’s Morning Joe.

Ayman is more than you’re typical liberal, anti-war journalist working for NBC and MSNBC…who used to work for that pro-Islamic, anti-America, pro-terrorist propaganda organ called Al Jazeera.  No.  Ayman was born in Cairo to an Egyptian father and a Palestinian mother.  Yeah..   No wonder liberals are so against profiling.  Anyway, you get the picture.  Good on Joe for calling Ayman on HIS ridiculous, and hate-filled accusations…and making him look like the fool he is.
