Gutfeld on the Texas ambush murder of police

PRESS CONFERENCE, MCALLEN, TEXAS POLICE CHIEF: “The suspect of the incident met our officers at the door, and shot both of our officers, both officers suffered fatal wounds// our officers did not draw their weapons, did not fire, never stood a chance.” So on Saturday, 2 police officers were ambushed and killed in Texas. Their names: Edelmiro Garza, age 45 and Ismael Chavez, age 39. Responding to a domestic disturbance — in the effort to stop violence, they became its victims. That’s the story of many cops’ lives. We report it, on this show because we realize the proportion of media coverage on such crimes, compared to other stories, is sorely lacking. When a violent act occurs that fits a narrative, it’s amplified to suit the media need. What need does it serve to report a story of two dead cops? For the rest of the media, very little. So they shrug it off. Fox News won’t. Today we’re living in an experiment. One conducted by mad social scientists, where a media and its internet platforms choose stories that manipulate emotion for the sake of clicks. They’ve put a price on rage and sell it by the minute So the bravery and hardships of law enforcement are ignored in favor of visual content untethered to data but tied to a narrative. In 2020, ironically, the media refuses to clearly see the truth of policing, instead of pushing stories that alarm and divide citizens. This rift is now energizing violent criminals, as Democratic mayors and other politicians follow the same path: deserting law and order — and you. And they laugh at those who now try to protect themselves. Politicians are scared of the mob. Scared of the media. As both cheer mayhem over peace officers. And if you cheer the police you’re made an unperson by the mob. Say “blue lives matter,” and see what happens. So even if you haven’t read Orwell, you get to live it. How long will we endure this? Until we decide enough is enough. So we report this story, not to make you angry, or sad. But to help you decide, when enough is enough.

As usual, Greg Gutfeld nails it with his biting commentary.  That was adapted from Greg’s “Gregologue” on “The Five” on July 13, 2020.  To see the video of this, and the following discussion on The Five, click on the text above.  Thanks Greg.

Felon Charged with Murdering Retired Police Captain David Dorn in Riots

A convicted felon has been charged with murdering St. Louis, Missouri, 77-year-old retired police captain David Dorn during riots in the city last week. The St. Louis Police Department announced Sunday that 24-year-old convicted felon Stephan Cannon has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, armed criminal action, and unlawfully possessing a firearm after he allegedly murdered Dorn. On June 2, according to police, Dorn was guarding Lee’s Pawn and Jewelry in St. Louis while riots, fires, and looting broke out. Surveillance footage, police said, shows Dorn arriving at the pawn shop, which had already been looted by Cannon and other men. That is when Cannon can allegedly be seen on the footage approaching the corner of the pawn shop with a gun, and it is at this time that Dorn was shot, killed, and left on the sidewalk bleeding. While searching Cannon’s residence, St. Louis police officers recovered a TV that had been looted from the pawn shop that night. Cannon is currently being held without bail. Dorn had served nearly 40 years with the St. Louis Police Department before retiring in 2007. Dorn also served as police chief in the small town of Moline Acres, Missouri.

This is a story we’ve been keeping an eye on the last couple of days.  And, we’re happy to report this piece of garbage is finally in jail and being held without bail, as well he should.  Hopefully the others who were accomplices and also looted, and then stood by and did nothing but videotape “Cap” bleeding out for FaceBook will be rounded up as well, and charged.  Of course, we’ll continue to keep an eye on this story.  For more, click on the text above.

St. Louis police release surveillance video of 7 ‘persons of interest’ in death of retired officer David Dorn

Surveillance footage capturing a group of men breaking into a pawn shop around the same time of the killing of a retired police captain attempting to prevent looting was released by St. Louis authorities Friday. The video shows seven “persons of interest” running into Lee’s Pawn & Jewelry on Tuesday during a night of widespread looting and rioting following a mostly peaceful protest over the death of George Floyd. The men all have their faces covered — six with masks and one with another covering. One man takes off his mask and puts his left hand to his mouth. Authorities believe he may have cut himself. At least two of the men were armed with handguns. The video runs from 2:13 a.m. to 2:17 a.m. David Dorn, 77, was found dead from a gunshot to the torso around 2:30 a.m. Prior to working security at the pawn shop, he served as a police captain with the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and a police chief in nearby Moline Acres. He retired in 2014 after more than 40 years in law enforcement. “They called him ‘Cap.’ That was the Cap. That was the Cap, everybody knows that was him,” Dorn’s son, Brian Powell, told Fox2Now, adding that “police work ran through his veins.” Investigators said Dorn was killed responding to a burglar alarm at the shop. He often checked on the store, which is owned by a friend. “David Dorn was exercising law enforcement training that he learned here,” St Louis Police Chief John Hayden said. His death occurred during a night in the city that saw looting and property damage following protests over the May 25 death of Floyd, a black man who died while in police custody in Minneapolis, Minn. Dorn was found on a sidewalk in front of the shop. A Facebook Live video captured some of his last moments. Powell said if Dorn was still alive, he would have shown empathy toward his attacker. “My dad, he is a forgiving soul. So he would have forgiven that person and try to talk to them because he was real big on trying to talk to youth and mentoring young people as well,” he said. “He was trying to get them on the straight and narrow and everything.” President Trump weighed in on Dorn’s death earlier this week, saying he was “viciously shot and killed by despicable looters” and that “we honor our police officers, perhaps more than ever before.” Anyone with information about the fatal shooting is asked to contact St. Louis homicide detectives. A $45,000 reward is being offered by Crime Stoppers for information leading to an arrest.

Or you can reach the St. Louis PD Homicide Div directly by calling:  (314) 444-5371.  For more info, and/or to see the video of these “persons of interest,” click on the text above.  These are pieces of garbage; total scum. If you have any info that’ll lead to an arrest of these maggots, you could get up to $45K.  Normally we don’t do the crime beat thing here at The Daily Buzz.  But, I’m originally from St. Louis, and this one hits close to home.  So, we’ll make an exception here. I’m disgusted by this and we need to find these animals and arrest them.  We can’t have thugs and bullies like this on the street.  “Cap” was the father of 5 and the grandfather of 10.  He was a good man who served his community and was loved.  What happened to him cannot stand.  We’ll, of course, keep an eye on this developing story.

Gutfeld on the murder of Mr. Dorn

David Dorn spent his last moments on Earth bleeding to death on a sidewalk in front of a looted shop early Tuesday. He was a retired police captain in St. Louis and he was protecting a store. Dorn was 77. His death was shown on Facebook Live. He was a black man. A family man. A good man. Black lives matter. But not to looters, rioters and agitators. Shall we blame this on systemic racism? Who shot David Dorn? Who knows? A stranger? Maybe Seth Rogan or Patton Oswalt already bailed him out. Dorn’s son, Brian Powell said of his father’s death: “It was senseless – over TVs, over stuff that’s replaceable. They’re forgetting the real message for the protest and the positiveness that’s supposed to come out of it and we get this negative light that’s shown on a situation that really needed light to be brought to it.” Dorn’s daughter-in-law, Vanessa Powell, said: “I just hope that the person that did this that they come forth or whatever because this is just so senseless, and I’m just I’m tired of it, I’m tired.” The fact is, fealty to the mob begets only more of the mob. Redefining bloodlust as justified leads to death. And not just David Dorn’s, but a country’s too. A day ago was Blackout Tuesday, when virtue-signalers set their Instagrams to all black to support the protests going on around the country. What an analogy for the media. The media blacks the violence to hide their culpability. Which protects incompetent leaders, criminals and an army of cowardly journalists. Their job: keep the chaos on endless repeat. -Maybe David Dorn’s death can change things. Maybe we can protest loudly in his name and loudly demand action. It’s time, because there’s no Superman coming to save the day for us. There’s no one but us. On CNN, Chris Cuomo said: “Please, show me where it says protesters are supposed to be polite and peaceful. Because I can show you that outraged citizens are the ones who have America what she is and led to any major milestones. Be honest, this is not a tranquil time.” No thanks to Chris Cuomo. As cities are ravaged, he says protests don’t have to be peaceful. Chris, I invite you to meet me in my neighborhood to see what outrage created – the ravaged stores, the dead-eyed looks from people trying to salvage what’s left of their lives. If only they could work in media, and see the silver lining in their ruin. This is not a tranquil time. Thanks for the honesty, Chris.

How sad..  Thanks to Greg Gutfeld for sharing this with us.  That was adapted from his “Gregologue” on June 3rd, 2020 on The Five.  To watch it, click on the text above.  R.I.P Mr. Dorn.

Maryland MS-13 members, illegal immigrants plead guilty to 2 grisly murders

Four MS-13 members—in the U.S. illegally—have pleaded guilty in Maryland to participating in the murders of a 21-year-old woman and a 17-year-old teenager two years ago. Police said the woman, Jennifer Rivera-Lopez, was lured to her death in June 2017 in an Anne Arundel County park where her killers, armed with knives and machetes, chopped her head off and buried her in a secret grave, the Capital Gazette reported Monday. Ronald Mendez-Sosa, 21, Brenda Argueta, 20, Ervin Arrue-Figueroa, 20, and Francisco Ramirez-Pena, 24, all of Maryland, copped to the murder last week in federal court, the paper reported. Mendez-Sosa also pleaded guilty to participating in the murder of Neri Giovani Bonilla-Palacios, the 17-year-old, who turned up dead in the woods in Annapolis in October 2017. He had been murdered two months earlier, investigators said. Court papers said he had been decapitated with a machete and his body had “at least 108 sharp and blunt force injury wounds,” the paper reported. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) lodged detainers against all four after cops arrested them in October 2017. Court papers alleged that MS-13 targeted Rivera-Lopez and Bonilla-Palacios due to their association with a rival gang, the Gazette added. According to the court papers, Argueta reached out to Rivera-Lopez on social media and arranged for the two to meet, the paper reported. The court papers alleged that after using a ruse to get Rivera-Lopez into the car, Argueta used another ruse to get the car to stop “at which point several other [MS-13] members forced [Rivera-Lopez] into another vehicle and took [Rivera-Lopez] to the site of the murder,” the paper reported. The court papers for Mendez-Sosa said he did not help kill Rivera-Lopez but aided in the murder by transporting others to and from the scene, the paper reported.

And just think…  Only a couple years ago, Democrat politicians and the dominantly liberal mainstream media (especially MSNBC and CNN) were attacking President Trump for calling these MS-13 maggots “animals.”  These are not “people” as those Dems claimed.  They are vermin, and a cancer in our communities that needs to be eradicated.  What adds insult to injury is the fact that they are illegal aliens, and shouldn’t have even been in America in the first place!  Please consider this today’s painful reminder that we need to BUILD THE WALL NOW!!!!…and put U.S. Army National Guard troops physically ON the border with Mexico, where they should remain until that wall/fence is finally built above, and under ground (to prevent tunneling)…however long it takes.  At the same time, we need to be deporting illegal aliens by the hundreds of thousands (and yes, you read that correctly), paying particular attention to known gang members, convicted criminal aliens, and those already determined by an immigration court to be deported…regardless of age, gender, or family status.  And that’s just for starters, folks.  To do anything less is NOT in our country’s national security, or economic, interests.  Period.  We have over 20 MILLION illegal aliens in this country (NOT 11 Million; the same figure liberals have been using for over 2 decades..as if that number hasn’t gone up in the last 20 years), and our schools, hospitals, courts, and jails are overwhelmed by that staggering statistic.  Anyway..  If you want to see a photo of Jennifer, the poor young woman who was beheaded, or the MS-13 “animals” who plead guilty to it, click on the text above.  Awful..

Mexican citizen executed in Texas for decades-old killing vows he ‘will be back for justice’

The Mexican citizen executed Wednesday night for killing his 16-year-old cousin wrote in a handwritten statement that he will be back for justice, “You can count on that!” Ruben Ramirez Cardenas, 47, was given a lethal injection after several federal court appeals failed to halt his punishment for the February 1997 killing of Mayra Laguna, 16. She was abducted from her family’s apartment and beaten to death. Asked by the warden to make a final statement, he replied, “No, sir.” As the lethal dose of pentobarbital began, he took a couple of breaths and then began snoring. After less than a minute, all movement stopped. Twenty-one minutes later, at 10:26 p.m. CST, he was pronounced dead, making him the seventh convicted killer put to death this year in Texas, which carries out capital punishment more than any other state. In a handwritten statement released afterward, Cardenas thanked his family, attorneys and the Mexican consulate for their help. His punishment was delayed for about four hours as last-ditch appeals for the former security guard focused primarily on efforts to have trial evidence undergo new DNA testing. In a filing to the U.S. Supreme Court hours before his execution, lawyers argued Texas was violating Cardenas’ due process rights and a state statute that covers forensic testing. They asked the justices to halt the execution for a court review. They also asked the justices for more time to appeal a lower court’s rejection of a federal civil rights lawsuit in which they claimed his due process and civil rights were being violated because Texas officials wouldn’t release evidence so it can undergo new DNA testing. Attorneys for the state said the lawsuit was improper and that state courts already refused the DNA request because Cardenas could not show that more advanced tests would exonerate him. DNA results in evidence at Cardenas’ trial were not false, state attorneys said. The high court, without comment, rejected both appeals. Earlier this week, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals, the state’s highest criminal court, rejected a similar appeal seeking DNA tests. Cardenas’ attorneys argued the new testing would be better than the now-obsolete testing that left “persistent doubts about his guilt and the integrity of his conviction.” Laguna was snatched from a bedroom she shared with a younger sister at her family’s public housing apartment in McAllen in South Texas. In a confession to police, Cardenas said he and a friend drove around with the high school student in his mother’s car. He said he had sex with the teen and then punched her as she fought him after he unbound her arms to let her go. “I didn’t plan on doing this, but I was high on cocaine,” he told authorities. He said after he hit the teen in the neck, she began coughing up blood and having difficulty breathing. After trying unsuccessfully to revive her, he said he tied her up “and rolled her down a canal bank.” Her body was found in a canal near a lake in the Rio Grande Valley in far South Texas. It’s what happened next that has Mexican officials and human rights groups arguing he shouldn’t be put to death. Cardenas’ defense team, funded by the Mexican government, claims the United States violated an international treaty by denying Cardenas the opportunity to speak to his country’s consulate after his arrest. “It’s a significant treaty violation,” Gregory Kuykendall, an Arizona attorney authorized to speak on behalf of Mexico, told the Houston Chronicle. If Texas officials execute Cardenas, they would be in apparent violation of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations. In 2004, the U.N.’s international court in the Hague ruled that the U.S. must review cases similar to Cardenas’. Then-President George W. Bush told states to comply but the Supreme Court overruled him and said it was up to Congress – not the president – to order states to obey. Since then, Congress has dragged its feet.

Regardless…  This piece of garbage committed rape and murder, and Texas did what it does to murderers; puts them down.

French: In Texas, a Good Guy with a Gun Stopped a Bad Guy with a Gun, But No One Truly Has Answers

With the automatic caveat that early reports are often wrong, it appears that the man who attacked the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, was a dishonorably discharged veteran of the United States Air Force. If this report is accurate, he wasn’t permitted to legally own a firearm. As the ATF explains, the Gun Control Act prohibits any person who’s been “discharged from the Armed Forces under dishonorable conditions” from shipping, transporting, receiving, or possessing a firearm or ammunition. The shooter apparently cared as much about the Gun Control Act as he cared for laws prohibiting murder. While the Texas shooter was obviously able to fire on the church members long enough to commit one of the worst mass murders in American history, he appears to have been stopped by a good guy with a gun — a civilian who armed himself and engaged the shooter: According to the law-enforcement briefing, a resident engaged the shooter with his own gun, the shooter then dropped his rifle and tried to escape by car. He died in the car, but it was not clear (as of the time of this post) whether he died after being shot by the resident or whether he killed himself. Already Twitter is erupting in furious arguments over gun control, concealed carry, and various pie-in-the-sky “solutions” to the problem of mass murder. The calls to “do something” will ring out once again, and if the past is any guide, the various gun-control proposals that will be put forward with maximum rage and sanctimony wouldn’t have stopped this — or any other — recent mass killing. At the same time, however, while I’m extraordinarily grateful for the courage of the good guys with guns who’ve ultimately put a stop to multiple mass shootings — including this dreadful massacre — it’s not at all clear to me that good guys with guns present the answer to our troubles. They help, certainly, but they are not the cure for this national disease. If recent history teaches us anything, it’s that there is no reliable way to stop a man determined to commit mass murder. He can use guns, cars, trucks, fertilizer, or boxcutters to exact a terrible toll in human life. Though there is no single answer, there is still effort. Individually, that means learning to how to use a weapon, carrying it, and remaining prepared to defend yourself and the people around you. Individually, that means if you see something, you say something. If a person is acting erratically or radicalizing in dangerous ways, then contact local law enforcement. Collectively, it’s difficult to identify effective prophylactic public policies. We have better answers for jihadists and other terrorists than we do for vengeful and evil men who lash out based on purely individual slights, real or imagined. In the meantime, we once again mourn the dead, express thanks for the brave, and do our best to rationally seek answers in a nation beset by grief, anger, and division. (Update: The Daily Beast is reporting that the shooter received a bad-conduct discharge — not a dishonorable discharge — after a domestic-violence conviction. The domestic-violence conviction would have also barred the shooter from possessing a firearm.)

Exactly..  Another “gun law” would not have prevented this horrible event in Texas.  The suspect was already committing a felony simply possessing the weapon he had.  And, unfortunately, you cannot stop every evil act.  That is simply an uncomfortable fact/reality….whether it’s using a rented truck to run over people on a sidewalk in New York, or illegally getting a hold of a firearm and using it to commit murder.  Thanks to attorney, and Army Reserve officer (Major), David French for sharing his perspective.  David was awarded the Bronze Star for his service in Iraq.

Illegal Alien Accused of Murdering Teen Girl Was in DACA Program

An illegal alien accused of murdering a teenage girl in Greenville County, South Carolina, was shielded from deportation as he was a beneficiary of the Obama-created DACA amnesty program. Daniel De Jesus Rangel Sherrer, 19, was one of the nearly 800,000 illegal aliens shielded from deportation and given a work permit under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) confirmed. Sherrer was charged in connection with the murder of 18-year-old Diana Martinez-Gonzalez after she was found shot to death in a wooded area in the town of Easley, South Carolina. During a press conference, Master Deputy Ryan Flood said the DACA recipient confessed to a deputy about his alleged murder of Martinez-Gonzalez, a high school student. Sherrer allegedly murdered the girl in the wooded area because she had spread false rumors about him, the illegal alien told deputies. Police say the DACA recipient had also held another teenage girl against her will, but that she escaped the scene. Sherrer is now facing first-degree murder charges and should he be released from prison at any time, he will be deported. Under DACA, created by Obama in 2012, hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens were prevented from being deported by receiving temporary amnesty in the U.S. President Trump’s administration, via Attorney General Jeff Sessions, announced that the program will officially end in March 2018, though the Republican establishment and Democrats are pushing to give permanent amnesty to the recipients.

Let’s hope that effort fails.  This DACA program needs to end, and the illegals need to be deported.  Period!!

Fresno shooting rampage: 3 white men killed, black male suspect yelled ‘Allahu Akbar,’ made posts against white people

Three people were killed after a man went on a shooting spree in downtown Fresno, California on Tuesday while shouting “God is great!” in Arabic before he was tackled and taken into custody, police said. Fresno Police Chief Jerry Dyer said officers took Kori Ali Muhammad, 39, into custody in connection to the shootings. Dyer said Muhammad went by the nickname “Black Jesus” and shouted “Allahu Akbar” as police tackled him to the ground. Dyer said at a news conference Muhammad has made posts against white people and the government on his Facebook page. All of the victims of the shooting rampage on Tuesday were white men, according to police. “These individuals who were chosen today did not do anything to deserve what they got,” Dyer said. “These were unprovoked attacks by an individual that was intent on carrying out homicides today. He did that.” The shooting spree began around 10:45 a.m. local time, when one person was shot in a PG&E utility truck, a second person was shot on Fulton Street and a third person was shot in the parking lot of Catholic Charities, FOX 26 News reported. All three shooting locations were close to each other in the downtown area. Around 16 shots were fired during the shooting spree, police said. “What we know is that this was a random act of violence,” Dyer said. “There is every reason to believe he acted alone.” Muhammad was already wanted in connection to the killing of an unarmed security guard at a Motel 6 last week, police said. He now faces four counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder, according to court records. It’s too soon to say whether Muhammad, who was homeless, had ties to any militant groups or causes, Dyer said. Muhammad has a criminal history that includes arrests on weapons, drugs and false imprisonment charges and making terrorist threats, police say. He had been associated with gangs but was not a validated member.

Soo.. This black, racist, piece of garbage was a gang-member wannabe.  Doesn’t get much lower than that.  What a loser!  To read more on this developing story, click on the text above.

FBI: Violent crime across US spiked in 2015, murders up nearly 11 percent

Violent crime across the U.S. jumped in 2015 after two years of declines, the FBI announced Monday, adding that the number of murders reported by local law enforcement agencies was up 10.8 percent from 2014. “We still have so much work to do,” Attorney General Loretta Lynch responded at an event in Little Rock, Ark. Many major cities, including Chicago, Baltimore and St. Louis, have struggled to restore trust between police and communities in the wake of officer-involved shootings and the Black Lives Matter movement. Violent crime overall rose by 3.9 percent, the data showed. While up from 2014, it was still down from 2011 and 2006, the FBI reported. The murder rate for U.S. metropolitan areas was slightly higher compared to the rest of the country. In July, President Obama said, “The fact of the matter is that the murder rate today, the violence rate today, is far lower than it was when Ronald Reagan was president, and lower than when I took office.” Since 2009, the nation has seen a 1.9 percent increase in murders, though the murder rate has slipped when population growth is factored in. Total violent crime has fallen by 9.6 percent.

So, that skews the stat.  Bottom line..  Murders are up, despite what Hillary and Obama are saying.  To read the rest of this article, click on the text above.
