Gun battle during Ferguson anniversary protest ends with man shot by police

St. Louis County police said a gun battle in Ferguson, Mo. late Sunday climaxed when one of the suspects involved opened fire on plainclothes detectives before being pursued and shot by the officers after a day of peaceful demonstrations in Ferguson marking the anniversary of Michael Brown’s death. Chief Jon Belmar did not identify the suspect, whom he said was in “critical, unstable” condition at a local hospital. However, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch identified the man as 18-year-old Tyrone Harris Jr. Harris’ father, also named Tyrone, told the paper that his son had just come out of surgery early Monday, and noted that his son and Brown “were real close.” In a statement released Monday morning, St. Louis County police said the suspect was one of at least two people who exchanged gunfire at around 11:15 p.m. local time along West Florissant Avenue. Belmar said that between 40 and 50 shots were fired in an exchange that lasted approximately 45 seconds, an amount he described as “remarkable.” Belmar said that officers had been tracking the suspect, whom they believed to be armed, during the protest. As the gunfire began, the unmarked van the officers were driving in turned on its emergency lights and began moving toward the suspect. Authorities said the man opened fire, striking the van multiple times. The officers returned fire from inside the vehicle before pursuing the man on foot. Belmar said the man then shot again at the officers, all four of whom returned fire. The suspect had a semi-automatic 9MM gun that was stolen last year from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, according to the chief.

One word…karma!  I actually hope this piece of garbage lives…so that he can be charged as an adult for shooting at police officers, being in possession of a stolen handgun, an on and on…

White Man attacked on St. Louis train by black thugs…for refusing to talk about Michael Brown

A white man was assaulted in a St. Louis, Mo. Light rail train on Monday after refusing to get into a conversation about the shooting of Michael Brown. The suspect, who was caught on camera by St. Louis Metro surveillance video, punched the victim in the face, CNNreported Saturday. Two more men joined in the fighting, according to police reports. Another passenger recorded the attack on a cell phone. The victim, 43, who declined to identify himself for the media, was commuting home when a young black man in his twenties, wearing a red t-shirt and cap, walked up to him and asked to use the victim’s cell phone. He refused and then the attacker sat down beside him. “Then he asked me my opinion on the Michael Brown thing,” the victim told local a local CNN affiliate. “I responded I was too tired to think about it right now.” “The next thing I know, he sucker punches me right in the middle of my face,” the victim said. The video of the attack shows the suspect pummeling the victim, punching him multiple times in the head while he tries to cover himself with his hands and forearms.

Holy crap!  You have to see this video!!  While I’m, in general, against the whole notion of “hate crimes,”…this clearly falls into that category.  Hopefully the police catch these vermin, and charge them with not just assault, but also hate crimes.  And, I hope this poor man sues them and gets monetary compensation for this brutal, unprovoked attack by these black animals.

Embattled Ferguson police chief resigns, city council says

Tom Jackson, the chief of the Ferguson, Mo., police department, will resign next week after a federal probe alleged racial profiling and police targeting of African-Americans, the city council says, and describes it as a “mutual separation.” The chief of the Ferguson, Mo., police department, which was cleared in a racially-charged shooting but accused of years of racial profiling in a subsequent Justice Department probe, will resign, law enforcement sources told Fox News. Chief Tom Jackson’s resignation would come one day after the Ferguson City Council unanimously approved a resolution to part ways with City Manager John Shaw following the probe that alleged racial bias at the department and courts. The St. Louis suburb has been beleaguered by unrest since a white police officer fatally shot an unarmed, black 18-year-old last summer. Michael Brown’s death prompted protests in the St. Louis area and across the nation, including after a St. Louis County grand jury declined to bring charges against former Officer Darren Wilson. A Washington Post editorial criticized Jackson for making a “volatile situation worse.” But Jackson repeatedly said he would not step down. The Justice Department cleared Wilson of civil rights charges in the shooting, saying the evidence supported his claim he was acting in self-defense.

Chief Jackson clearly wasn’t ready for the national spotlight, and bumbled his way through some prime-time national interviews.  That said, he clearly isn’t this racist white cop that AG Eric Holder (a brazen, self-righteous, racist by ANY standard) and his liberal, racial agenda-driven DOJ have painted him out to be.  He’s just a chief of a small mid-western town with about 50 police officers…and was in the wrong place at the wrong time.  As for the incident that went down..  Again, for the record..  When the shooting occurred in Ferguson, Chief Jackson was having lunch with one of this kids.  He got the call from the duty sergeant…and immediately called the Chief of Police of St. Louis County and turned the entire thing over to him (i.e. jurisdiction, investigation, etc.) so that there wouldn’t be even the appearance of a conflict of interest.  That is why no charges were even contemplated by Holder and others looking for someone to go after.  They knew they had nothing.  Well, sorry to see this dismantling of the Ferguson city government by Holder and his jack-booted thugs.  But, Ferguson doesn’t have the money to fight the DOJ in court.  And, that’s what this is boiling down to.  Hopefully Chief Jackson will find a new job in law enforcement sometime soon.

Opinion: Darren Wilson: Free At Last!

Eric Holder’s Justice Department has completed its investigation into whether Ferguson cop Darren Wilson killed Michael Brown in cold blood for racist reasons when he shot the black teenager last August. What did the massive six-month FBI investigation discover? According to the Washington Post, “after canvassing more than 300 homes and reviewing physical, ballistic, forensic, medical and crime-scene evidence” and examining “Wilson’s personnel records, audio and video recordings,” Justice concluded Wilson told the truth about what happened that Saturday in Ferguson. Officer Wilson is innocent of the endless libels and slanders in the press and on television, and by street demagogues and the pack of liars who, under oath, told a St. Louis County grand jury that Brown had his hands up, crying, “Don’t shoot!” when Wilson cut him down. The liars, however, will not be called out, nor will the perjurers be prosecuted. For Holder says, in the words of the Post, that “the discrepancy” between what happened and what the liars testified to “was due, in part, to a deeply rooted pattern of racial bias in the police department that had left the Ferguson community polarized.” Holder is saying that we must cut slack for folks who lied to get an innocent cop indicted for murder, because their community had been badly treated by Ferguson cops and courts. And what about the nights and days of rioting, looting, arson and anarchy in Ferguson and beyond following the death of Brown? Holder has an explanation for that, too. “[A]mid a highly toxic environment, defined by mistrust and resentment [of police], stoked by years of bad feelings and spurred by illegal and misguided practices, it is not difficult to imagine how a single tragic incident set off the city of Ferguson like a powder keg.” This, said Holder, was the root of the rage in Ferguson. Sorry, Eric, that dog won’t hunt

No kidding.  An EXCELLENT op/ed by Pat Buchanan..

The Injustice the DOJ Uncovered in Ferguson Wasn’t Racism

Occasionally even a blind squirrel finds a nut. And so, Eric Holder’s Justice Department has found an injustice. Only it’s not the one they think. The Department of Justice’s “Investigation of the Ferguson Police Department,” released this week, has been widely touted as incontrovertible evidence that Ferguson law enforcement is systemically racist, its Jim Crow–era animus expressed in policing practices targeting Ferguson’s majority-black population — this even though the Justice Department declined to charge Darren Wilson for a civil-rights violation in the shooting death of Michael Brown. Moreover, it is “important to understand [the] Ferguson Report not as an aberration, but how white supremacy actually works.” So tweeted The Atlantic’s Ta-Nehisi Coates. No doubt the report will feature prominently in discussions of this weekend’s commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Selma’s Bloody Sunday. But the report is hardly unassailable. As Manhattan Institute scholar Heather Mac Donald and many others have noted, the “disparate impact” criterion on which the report heavily relies compares the number of police interactions with blacks to the black population, when the meaningful statistic is the number of police interactions compared to the number of black lawbreakers. The report pointedly neglects that question.

Of course it does..  THAT is what is really the crux of the issue.  But, since that statistic would obviously undermine the liberal, racial agenda of Obama, AG Eric Holder, and other senior Democrats in Washington, D.C., they DOJ has conveniently left out that inconvenient data from its ostensibly comprehensive report.  Typical..

Prosecutors Mull Charges In Brown Family Attack – Late teen’s kin could face arrest for ransacking of t-shirt stand

Prosecutors are now considering criminal charges against members of Michael Brown’s family in connection with a violent confrontation over the sale of merchandise commemorating the late teenager, who was shot to death last year by a police officer. The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney recently received the results of a months-long investigation by Ferguson Police Department detectives who probed the October 18 beating and robbery of t-shirt vendors, one of whom was hospitalized following the assault. A prosecutor’s spokesperson told TSG that lawyers are now reviewing material forwarded by police, a package that addresses charges that could be filed against the suspects.

One word…  KARMA!     🙂

DOJ will not prosecute former Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson

The Justice Department announced Wednesday that it will not prosecute former Ferguson, Mo., police officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of an unarmed black 18-year-old, while also releasing a report faulting the city and its law enforcement for racial bias. In the criminal investigation, federal officials concluded Wilson’s actions “do not constitute prosecutable violations under the applicable federal criminal rights statute.” Specifically, the DOJ said there was “no evidence” to disprove Wilson’s testimony that he feared for his safety, nor was there reliable evidence that Michael Brown had his hands up when he was shot. The report said: “Although there are several individuals who have stated that Brown held his hands up in an unambiguous sign of surrender prior to Wilson shooting him dead, their accounts do not support a prosecution of Wilson.‎ As detailed throughout this report, some of those accounts are inaccurate because they are inconsistent with the physical and forensic evidence; some of those accounts are materially inconsistent with that witness’s own prior statements with no explanation, credible or otherwise, as to why those accounts changed over time.” The decision in the Aug. 9 shooting had been expected, in part because of the high legal standard needed for a federal civil rights prosecution. Wilson, who has said Brown struck him in the face and reached for his gun during a tussle, also had been cleared by a Missouri grand jury in November and later resigned from the department.

Translation…  AG Eric Holder tried and tried.. But, wasn’t able to find ANY evidence that former Ferguson PD Officer Darren Wilson did ANYTHING wrong.  Their investigation came to the exact same conclusion that the St. Louis County Grand Jury came to..  That Officer Wilson’s story was consistent the multiple autopsies, ballistics, and other forensics from the crime scene.  No…  Michael Brown was NOT shot in the back, nor is there ANY evidence whatsoever that he tried to surrender with his hands held up.  In fact the forensics suggest just the opposite; that Brown after having tried to take Wilson’s sidearm and beating him, charged Wilson like a bull.  So, race had NOTHING to do with what went down that day, despite what the liberal, socialist, black, racist, race-hustlers like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, and so on would have you believe.  A big, pot-smoking, robber and bully tried to attack a police officer and go for his gun….and was ultimately shot to death during the altercation with that officer.  THAT is what happened.  If anything, Darren Wilson is the victim here!  And, since Holder’s DOJ couldn’t find anything to go after Wilson with (whose career is over now, thanks to this witch hunt), they’re trying to find something to go after the small town of Ferguson over.  Unbelievable..

Sheriff Clarke: Eric Holder Suit Against Ferguson ‘an Abuse of Power’

On Friday’s broadcast of “Fox & Friends,” Milwaukee County, WI Sheriff David Clarke chastised outgoing Attorney General Eric Holder for his decision to sue the city of Ferguson, MO in the wake of last year’s Michael Brown shooting. Clarke told “Fox & Friends” host Brian Kilmeade his actions were an abuse of power. “Well, it’s more of the same from Eric Holder,” Clarke said. “Look this is an abuse of power. Eric Holder has gone 15 for 15 in terms of indicting police departments of some sort of wrongdoing. That doesn’t pass the smell test. There’s no objectivity in his investigations and oftentimes the conclusion is written before the investigation even starts. If I were the city of Ferguson I would fight this. Look, the Ferguson grand jury got it right. Officer Darren Wilson acted reasonably in defending his life against Mike Brown. It was a tragedy, we all know that. But Eric Holder early on before that investigation had started said we’ll get this right and the fact that the grand jury ruled not the way he thought they should have, he’s still going to try to extract his pound of flesh. But Brian, these investigations are costly and not only the investigation but when they put you under consent decree this is nothing more than an exercise in writing reports for law enforcement officers. That takes up time — valuable time that takes them away from the street for driving in high crime communities and servicing the people of the city of Ferguson, MO.”

Good for Sheriff Clarke!!  He is exactly right!!  AG Eric Holder is a nauseating, self-serving, sanctimonious, racist, black liberal Democrat who has time and again abused his position as our nation’s senior law enforcement officer to further his racist, social justice agenda.   And, when the grand jury in Ferguson came to the right decision in the Michael Brown case, he decided to sue the small, monetarily-challenged, Missouri town of Ferguson.  He doesn’t care that it’ll probably destroy the town, since he has unlimited federal resources and dollars (translation, OUR tax dollars).

St. Louis University alumni protest planned sculpture honoring demonstrations

Donors and alumni of Saint Louis University are up in arms over a proposed sculpture honoring a protest on school grounds against police brutality. The plan has led those opposed to the art project to launch a petition demanding plans for the monument be shelved according to the College Fix. The higher education blog also reports that students are divided on the issue and that a campus forum will be held later this week.

As many of you know, I’m originally from St. Louis..and I know the culture there VERY well.  So, it doesn’t surprise me one bit to hear that donors and SLU alumni are blowing a gasket over this.  SLU is a great school, and those donors and alumni don’t want this kinda crap to take hold at their Midwestern alma mater.  Something to keep an eye on..

Young Oakland Girls Called ‘Radical Brownies’ Learn Social Justice Instead Of Selling Cookies

After the recent Black Lives Matter protests, there is a new brownie troop in Oakland. Instead of selling cookies, they are spreading a message. On a Saturday afternoon in Oakland, a handful of 8 to 10 year old girls are gathered, in brown uniforms, giggling and eating cupcakes. They look like Girl Scouts, but it’s not just fun and games. “White policeman are killing black young folks such as women, men and children,” one of the girls said. Another girl said, “Mike Brown. He was shot because he didn’t do nothing. Only the police officer shot him because of his skin color.”

Doesn’t that make ya want to vomit?!? As we oftentimes ask here at The Daily Buzz.. Who exactly are the real racists in America? In this case, its the parents of these “young skulls full of mush” being brainwashed with this bs. Nobody is willing to tell that girl that no…. Mike Brown was shot because he assaulted a police officer, and went for his gun…and this all after he robbed a convenience store, and bullied the shop keeper. Mike was a thug, and that’s what happens when you’re a robber and attack police officers. THAT is what this little girl should have been told. Instead, she was told that white police officers are racist and mean, and kill “black young folks.” Shame on these parents, and anyone who supports or promotes this kinda crap. Unreal..
