Homeland Security chief Jeh Johnson says no credible terrorist threat to U.S.

The nation’s top homeland security official said Sunday there are no credible threats of a Paris-style attack on U.S. soil, despite rumors that the Islamic State or other extremists could attack the country. Security officials said they are testing their communications systems and conducting other drills ahead of holiday-season events, including the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York City. The ramp-up comes as Belgian officials shut down the subway system in Brussels and asked the public to avoid large crowds, citing the risk of an imminent attack. “We have no specific credible intelligence about a threat of the Paris-type directed at the homeland here,” Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson told NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “We are always concerned about potential copycat acts, home-born, homegrown, violent extremism of the types that we’ve seen in recent months and years.” Suicide bombers and gunmen linked to the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq killed about 130 people in Paris on Nov. 13, kicking off a round of anxiety in the U.S. and debate over President Obama’s plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S. Mr. Johnson said about 2,100 Syrians already have been resettled through a “very extensive vetting process,” and that the real concern is a visa waiver program that makes it easier for travelers from some countries, mainly in Europe, to get onto American soil. The fear is that Europeans will be recruited by the Islamic State — a dynamic that played out in the Paris attacks — and then take advantage of their countries’ relationship with the U.S. “The visa waiver program is something that we’ve been focused on, frankly, since I’ve been secretary, because there are a number of foreign terrorist fighters who have gone into Iraq and Syria from countries in Europe and elsewhere,” Mr. Johnson said. He said the program shouldn’t be eliminated, however. “It’s a very popular program that people use virtually every day,” Mr. Johnson said. “But there are security enhancements that we have made and we should evaluate whether more is necessary and I’m happy to have that conversation with our friends in Congress.”

Jeh Johnson is just another yes-man fool, and brazen liar, in this Administration… For him to say, with a straight face on national tv, that there is no “credible threat” of a terrorist attack on U.S. soil is mind-boggling. The man should either be fired or impeached for incompetence and lack of integrity. He is cabinet-level Secretary, for crying out loud, and has access to all sorts homeland security reports (including classified reports), and knows better. Of COURSE there are “credible” threats from ISIS/ISIL and other Islamo-fascist wackos to America’s national security…on a daily basis!! Has he NOT turned on the tv recently, and seen all of these middle eastern men caught illegally crossing our borders recently? This is beyond outrageous. Hopefully Congress will call this idiot on the carpet for this. We need to demand better from our civil servants; especially ones like Jeh Johnson who make 6 figure salaries…courtsey of we-the-taxpayers. Unreal..

DHS Secy Johnson: Black Lives Matter ‘Airing a Point of View That Deserves To Be Heard’

Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson stated that “the Black Lives Matter movement is airing a point of view that deserves to be heard” in an interview with USA Today‘s Capital Download released on Monday. Johnson said [relevant exchange begins around 4:15] “I think that the Black Lives Matter movement is airing a point of view that deserves to be heard, and a frustration that deserves to be heard. And there are lots of different ways to present a point of view, and obviously, this movement is one of them. But, they’re representing a point of view that I think deserves to be heard.”

Huh?!? THIS is what’s wrong with Obama and his minions like Sec. Jeh Johnson.. They’re breathtakingly incompetent..and using their offices to further liberal agendas (like this) that have NOTHING to do with their role/job description. Sec. Johnson is the Secretary of HOMELAND SECURITY; NOT the Sec of Domestic Race Relations. His job is NOT to endorse some

Jeh Johnson: DHS Has ‘Identified Some’ Other Cases ‘Similar’ To Known Gang Member Granted Executive Amnesty

The Department of Homeland Security has identified other cases like the Charlotte, NC murder suspect granted executive amnesty despite his known a gang affiliations, DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson told a Senate panel Tuesday. Testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Johnson addressed the circumstances of Emmanuel Jesus Rangel-Hernandez — a known gang member who was granted President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and is now accused of murdering four people, including a former contestant on “America’s Next Top Model.” “This case is a tragic case and this individual should not have received DACA. I cannot state that in stronger terms,” Johnson said in response to questions about Rangel-Hernandez from Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley. “In reaction to that case — as I think you know — we’ve gone back and we’ve retrained the entire workforce that deals with these cases to make sure that they identify trouble signs such as suspected membership in criminal gangs,” Johnson said. The DHS secretary stressed that gang membership should make an illegal immigrant a “priority for removal,” not a candidate for deferred status. “So we retrained the force and we’ve done a retrospective review of every DACA case. Every DACA participant to see whether there are any similar to this case. We’ve identified some,” Johnson revealed. “And we continue to evaluate this to make sure that we’e reduced situations like this to zero in the DACA program,” he added.

Sec. Jeh Johnson is just another worthless tool in Obama’s administration that has been sent before Congress to get slapped around. Obama does this; throws his minions under the bus. At least the man admitted that DACA has flaws. Gee.. ya think?!? Congress needs to do away with DACA altogether and focus on border enforcement instead of just letting Obama find whatever excuse he can to flood our country with as many immigrants, without any regard to quality control. Unreal..

Republican Sens. Investigating Potential Exec. Amnesty Retaliation Against DHS Personnel

A group of Republican senators say they are aware of allegations of workplace retaliation against Homeland Security personnel who — in conflict with the administration’s immigration policies — are “faithfully discharging the duties of the offices in which they serve.” The Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and the National Interest revealed it is investigating the potential retaliation against DHS employees who have allegedly been punished for not complying with the administration’s enforcement priorities. “[W]e are aware of multiple allegations of targeting and retaliation against DHS personnel who refuse to comply with this Administration’s willful disregard of our immigration laws—such as allegations made in lawsuits filed in federal court by an award-winning ICE attorney and by a group of 10 ICE officers and agents,” the eight Republicans wrote in a Tuesday letter to DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson. The Republicans noted a recent comment from President Obama during a MSNBC/Telemundo town hall discussion in which his indicated that immigration officers would be punished for failing to adhere to his executive amnesty. “There may be individual [U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)] officials or Border Patrol who aren’t paying attention to our new directives,” they quoted Obama. “But they’re going to be answerable to the head of the Department of Homeland Security, because he’s been very clear about what our priorities should be… If somebody is working for ICE and there is a policy and they don’t follow the policy, there are going to be consequences to it.” According to the senators — specifically Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Subcommittee Chairman Jeff Sessions (R-AL) and Sens. David Vitter (R-LA), David Perdue (R-GA), John Cornyn (R-TX), Mike Lee (R-UT), Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) — the statement helps explain why moral is so low among DHS personnel. “Not only do the President’s statements ignore the plain language of several immigration statutes that command DHS personnel to take certain actions relating to illegal aliens, the comments seem to comport with a pattern and practice of threats toward DHS personnel who seek to fulfill their duties under the law,” they write. The senators call on Johnson to provide information related to the discipline of DHS employees over the past six years, including “the authority upon which your Department will rely to penalize Department personnel for their failure to comply with an unlawful and unconstitutional order.”

Excellent!! Glad to see a handful of Senators actually doing their jobs, and holding Sec. Jeh Johnson’s feet to the fire. If these allegations are, in fact, true…then he and his puppet-master, Obama, have a LOT to answer for. Obama cannot simply ignore duly-enacted federal law, just because he doesn’t like it. And, while that HAS been his MO the last 6 years, he simply does NOT have that authority. So, Congress (both chambers) need to push back like this when he does try to circumvent our Constitution to further his agenda.

DHS Secretary Uses Fear Tactics to Secure Funding: ‘If Anyone Is Planning to Go to The Mall…’

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson went on the Sunday talk shows to demand that Republicans fund the Department of Homeland Security without blocking money for President Obama’s executive amnesty plan. But he prefaced his you-better-fund-my-department pitch by warning that an al Qaeda-linked terror group, Al-Shabaab, is publicly calling for attacks on shopping malls in the United States, specifically the Mall of America in Minneapolis.

Looks like Sec. Johnson has learned a thing or two about playing dirty Chicago-thug politics from his boss Obama, who is a pro at that..

Lawsuit: Obama Officials Pressured Prosecutors To Release Convicted Criminal Illegal Aliens

An award-winning, career prosecutor at U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) alleged in a blistering new lawsuit she was punished for resisting orders to release convicted criminal illegal aliens from custody.

Boy how that doesn’t surprise me one bit.  If what she is alleging is true, then I hope her lawsuit is successful and heads roll at DHS, including DHS Sec. Jeh Johnson.

DHS will ask stores to watch customers’ buying habits for terrorist clues

Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson said his department will be issuing new guidance to retailers this week giving them pointers on how to spot potential terrorists among their customers by looking at what they’re buying.

In theory, this is a good idea. We’ll see how, or if, Jeh Johnson and his DHS agency turn it into something practical, while being respectful of law-abiding citizens exercising their freedoms to legally purchase whatever they want, without being snooped on. Yes, there ARE “precursors” that need to be monitored like fertilizer at Home Depot, etc. If the customer buying several tons of it is a farmer, that’s one thing. He’s probably ok, and should be left alone. But, if he lives in an apartment, has no yard, is buying several 100 lb bags of it, and oh…looks middle eastern, and has a thick foreign accent? Yeah… That’s probably somebody you want to keep an eye on, and probably want to report to DHS or the FBI. Its about using common sense…something this administration is in short supply of. Always be alert to your surroundings. And, especially tomorrow, on the anniversary of 9/11, be vigilant. If you see something even remotely unusual and doesn’t seem right, or you observe someone acting suspiciously…call the non-emergency number of your local police department (which you should already have in your cell). Always better to be safe than sorry. And you can always make an anonymous call to report something.
