Border Patrol Agent: Trump’s wall is the best way to end to the humanitarian crisis on our southern border

If Democrats and the media elite truly cared about the safety of illegal immigrants, they’d be down on the border right now working to build the wall President Trump wants America to have. As a veteran Border Patrol agent, I know firsthand that a secure border with the big beautiful wall the president is building is the only humane and permanent solution to the crisis at the border. Despite Democratic obstruction, President Trump is building the wall now, and he will play hardball with Congress to ensure that the necessary funding to complete the wall is secured. Without a completed wall, thousands of illegal immigrants will continue to put their lives at risk. As long as people think they can cross the border illegally, they will continue to try. The journey is dangerous enough due to the natural conditions alone. Traveling hundreds or even thousands of miles on foot, often in extreme heat and without adequate water, is no easy trip for an adult – let alone for a child. But those who try to cross our southern border illegally are subject to much worse than just the elements – they are at the mercy of brutal criminal gangs. The illegal immigrant smuggling trade is dominated by predatory “coyotes” connected to Mexico’s worst drug cartels. They care little for the lives of their human cargo. These are the sorts of people who don’t think twice before leaving illegal immigrants to die in locked trailers under the desert sun. The coyotes’ control of human smuggling across the border results in routine violence, theft, and death, as well as the widespread rape of Central and South American women and girls. A 2014 Huffington Post report stated that 80 percent of illegal immigrant women and girls are raped during their travel. In addition to discouraging illegal border crossings and protecting desperate migrants from violence, rape and death, securing the border will save American taxpayers vast amounts of money. It will also free up the resources necessary to expedite legal immigration and review the ever-growing backlog of asylum claims. According to a 2017 study, the presence of illegal immigrants and their 4.2 million kids costs Americans roughly $135 billion in taxes at the federal, state, and local levels. That’s a tax burden of roughly $8,075 per illegal alien family member. Another recent report revealed that the federal government spent $1.4 billion just housing illegal immigrant unaccompanied minors, which works out to $670 per unaccompanied minor per day. President Trump is only requesting an additional $25 billion to complete his border wall – a one-time cost that is minor compared to the cost of illegal immigration. Building the wall will also solve the family separation issue. If families can’t enter illegally, then they won’t be separated while the adults await trial and sentencing. A wall would also funnel legitimate asylum seekers to proper ports of entry. True asylum seekers have no need to cross the border illegally. Securing the border once and for all won’t just protect desperate migrants from harm and save Americans money – it will also protect Americans from harm. The massive influx of unaccompanied minors across the border during the Obama administration brought with it a massive increase in MS-13 gang violence. Mexico’s cartels are also taking advantage of our porous border and flooding our communities with deadly drugs. Finally, there is also the terror threat. Border Patrol agents routinely apprehend Middle Eastern suspects trying to enter America illegally. The closer President Trump’s wall comes to completion, the closer we get to end the humanitarian crisis caused by our porous southern border. The Democrats’ dream of open borders and their unrelenting opposition to securing our border hurts the people they claim to care about the most.

Exactly!!  And well said, Brandon!  Brandon Judd is the president of the National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the exclusive labor representative of approximately 16,000 Border Patrol agents.  As we’ve been saying here at The Daily Buzz for years (LONG before Trump even ran for President), it is way past time that we BUILD THE WALL NOW!!!!…and put U.S. Army National Guard troops physically ON the border with Mexico.  And, they should remain on the border until that wall/fence is finally built above, and below ground (to prevent tunneling)…however long it takes.  We’ve been hammering away on that issue for years for national security and economic reasons primarily.  Branon now makes the case from a humanitarian perspective.  Just another reason to make it happen NOW.

Feds: 1-in-5 Illegal Aliens Crossing with Toddlers Are Criminals, a Danger

About 1-in-5 illegal alien adults crossing the United States-Mexico border with toddlers under the age of five are either criminals, not the child’s parent, or present some other danger to the child. A new report released by the White House finds that of the 102 border crossing toddlers who were mandated by the courts to be reunited with the illegal alien adults they arrived with, 21 of the adults were found to be unfit to be reunited with the toddlers they crossed with. This means that about 1-in-5 illegal alien adults arriving in the U.S. with toddlers are not eligible to have those children placed back in their care and custody after being separated at the border. The White House outlined the cases of the 21 illegal alien adults who are unfit to be reunited with the toddlers they arrived with. Click here to see the breakdown:

Pretty compelling…

Analysis: Donald Trump’s mainstream immigration policy

Perhaps no Trump policy has provoked more emotional reaction than the practice of separating illegal border crossers from the children they brought with them to the U.S. There’s no need to recount the number of times critics have called the president a Nazi, or a fascist, or just plain cruel. The administration has now stopped the separation policy. But it plans to continue prosecuting illegal border crossers and, when those crossers bring children illegally into the U.S., will “detain families together during the pendency of immigration proceedings,” according to an administration court filing in California. That of course will not satisfy the critics, and legal challenges are sure to follow. But if a new poll is correct, it appears the Trump administration, after an enormously damaging few weeks, has ended up squarely on the side of the majority of American voters. The new survey is a Harvard-Harris poll, by former Clinton pollster and strategist Mark Penn. It was conducted June 24-25, with 1,448 registered voters. On the issue of separations, Penn began with a threshold question: “Do you think that people who make it across our border illegally should be allowed to stay in the country or sent home? Sixty-four percent (83 percent of Republicans, 47 percent of Democrats, and 66 percent of independents) said they should be sent home. Thirty-six percent said they should be allowed to stay. Then, Penn asked: “Do you think that parents with children who make it across our border illegally should be allowed to stay in the country or sent home?” The presence of children made little different in the result: 61 percent (81 percent of Republicans, 40 percent of Democrats, and 66 percent of independents) said they should be sent home, while 39 percent said they should be allowed to stay. The vast majority — 88 percent — opposed separating illegal immigrant families while they are in the U.S., and they blamed the Trump administration for the policy. On the other hand, 55 percent (76 percent of Republicans, 39 percent of Democrats, and 55 percent of independents) said illegal immigrant families should be held in custody “until a judge reviews their case” — essentially the new Trump family detention policy. The end result was that a substantial majority said illegal border crossers, and the children they brought, should be returned to their home countries. To that end, 80 percent (84 percent of Republicans, 79 percent of Democrats, and 78 percent of independents) favored hiring more immigration judges “to process people in custody faster.” “They [poll respondents] rejected family separation while narrowly favoring family detention,” Penn told me in an email exchange. “Mostly they want people who cross the border illegally to be turned around and returned home efficiently.” Penn’s polling found other results broadly favorable to the Trump approach to immigration.

CBS Poll: 51% of Americans Believe a Border Wall is a Good Idea

As Townhall previously reported, a CBS poll released today showed that more Americans than not want illegal alien families either detained or deported all together. But, that same poll shows that 51% of Americans believe that a wall along the United States southern border is a good thing, even if that structure does not span coast-to-coast. According to the poll, 32% of Americans believe that “a wall along the U.S. Mexican border” is a “good idea that can probably be completed.” 19% of those polled answered that the wall is a “a good idea that should be tried, even if it cannot be completed.” 48% of the 2063 adults polled said the wall was a “bad idea.” The CBS poll was conducted last week from June 21-June 22. The poll comes after nearly two weeks of intense national scrutiny of the Trump administration regarding its handling of the southern border child migrant crisis. Democratic officials, liberals, and moderate Republicans have blasted President Trump for his “zero tolerance” policy of separately detaining illegal alien children from their parents when caught crossing the Mexican-American border. President Trump has long promised a “big beautiful wall,” but so far has been unable to receive the necessary funding. In an op-ed on Friday, liberal commentator Andrew Sullivan argued that Democratic representatives should give Trump “his f*cking wall. He won the election. He is owed this. It may never be completed; it may not work, as hoped. But it is now the only way to reassure a critical mass of Americans that mass immigration is under control, and the only way to make any progress under this president.” But, Independent Sen. Angus King of Maine, who often votes against Trump, argued today that just a few months ago Congress actually had given President Trump the necessary funding for the border wall, but the White House opted to decline the bill in hopes of getting more political victories. Sen. King told NBC “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd that, “Mike Rounds and I had an amendment, it was the one that got the most votes on the floor of the Senate. We got 54 votes. It was in a sense DACA for the wall. And the wall was fully funded. The Democratic Caucus voted, I think, 46 out of 48 members, 49 members for it. That was a hard sell. But the White House itself torpedoed the bill. They threatened to veto, they sent out a scurrilous press release from DHS and we had the votes. We had probably 65, 67 votes. They killed it. They had the wall in their hand and they let it go because they wanted more.” Despite President Trump signing an executive order last week that stopped the separation of families apprehended at the border, it is unclear where the debate on this issue will lead before the 2018 midterm elections.

Think about this..  CBS News, which is part of the dominantly liberal mainstream media, found in one of THEIR polls, that 51% of Americans in THEIR poll, want the wall built.  Just imagine if that had been a Fox News poll…and how much higher that number would be.  Americans are sick of this non-stop invasion on our southern border by illegal aliens.  So, despite the emotional tugs at the heart by agenda-driven leftists talking about children migrants and so on, the people have had it.  We agree.  BUILD THE WALL NOW!!!…and put U.S. Army National Guard troops physically ON the border with Mexico to prevent would-be crossers from stepping one foot on U.S. soil.  After all, once they do, they’re entitled (and that’s the key word) to all sorts of freebies that we, the actual citizens, have to pay for.  Then, those Guard troops should remain on the border until that wall/fence is finally built above/below ground (to prevent tunneling)…however long it takes.  Simultaneously, we need to be deporting illegals already here in America by the hundreds of thousands (and yes, you read that correctly), paying particular attention to known gang members (i.e. MS-13, etc.), convicted criminal aliens, and those already determined by an immigration judge to be deported…regardless of age or gender.  And, that’s just for starters, folks.  To do anything less is NOT in our county’s national security, or economic, interests.  Period!

Democrats’ Border Separation Bill Would Let Nearly All Parents Who Commit Federal Crimes Get Off Scot-Free

Democrats’ proposed legislation to prohibit so-called border separations would actually prevent federal law enforcement agencies almost anywhere inside the United States from arresting and detaining criminals who are parents having nothing to do with unlawfully crossing the border and seeking asylum. Every Senate Democrat has now signed on to cosponsor a bill written so carelessly that it does not distinguish between migrant children at the border and U.S. citizen children already within the United States. The bill further does not distinguish between federal officers handling the border crisis and federal law enforcement pursuing the ordinary course of their duties. Let’s break down Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s proposed “Keep Families Together Act” to see where Democrats went wrong. The bill provides that “[a]n agent or officer of a designated agency shall be prohibited from removing a child from his or her parent or legal guardian at or near the port of entry or within 100 miles of the border of the United States” (with three exceptions to be discussed later). Four immediate warning signs in this provision should put the reader on notice that this bill is not what Democrats claim. First, “designated agency” here is defined as the entirety of the federal departments of Homeland Security, Justice, and Health and Human Services. The scope of the bill is not limited to those portions of these departments involved with the border crisis, and there is no other limiting factor in the bill that would cabin the prohibition on family separation to immigration-related matters. In other words, this bill is going to regulate conduct across a great many federal offices that have nothing to do with separating children from families arriving unlawfully in the United States. Second, “agent or officer” is not defined by the legislation, except to say that it includes contractors. Federal law, however, already defines “officer” to include (with exceptions not relevant here) every federal employee appointed to the civil service by the head of an executive agency and ultimately overseen by the head of an executive agency. Here again, this bill is not limited to controlling the behavior of the DHS, DOJ, or HHS officers involved in the border crisis. The proposed law would apply with equal force to, say, FBI agents (part of DOJ), Secret Service agents (part of DHS), and Centers for Disease Control officers (part of HHS) in the exercise of their everyday duties. Third, “at or near the port of entry or within 100 miles of the border” does not meaningfully limit the geographic scope of this bill. That area includes almost the entirety of the geographical territory of the United States and the vast majority of people living in it. Two hundred million people live within 100 miles of the border. That’s roughly two-thirds of the U.S. population. Even more live near ports of entry, including in places far from the border crisis, like Salt Lake City, Utah (nearly 700 miles from the nearest border crossing), Tulsa, Oklahoma (more than 600 miles from the nearest border crossing), and Nashville, Tennessee (nearly 600 miles from the nearest border crossing). All major U.S. metropolitan areas fall within either 100 miles of the border or are near a port of entry or both. Finally, “child” is defined in this legislation as any individual who has not reached 18 years old who has no permanent immigration status. This astonishing definition includes U.S. citizens under the age of 18. Citizen children by definition have no immigration status, permanent or otherwise. (Even if the Democrats belatedly amended this provision to restrict the definition to alien children without a permanent immigration status, that amended definition would still include non-migrant aliens, like tourist children, Deferred Action for Child Arrivals recipients under the age of 18, and children whose parents have had their immigration status revoked.)

Steve Bannon defends Trump administration separating families at border: ‘Morality is the law’

Steve Bannon, President Trump’s former White House senior adviser, said Sunday a wall at the southern border would solve the problem of separating children from parents who illegally enter the United States. “Give me a border wall and we won’t have this problem,” Mr. Bannon told ABC’s “This Week.” The former Breitbart News executive chairman said the president is simply enforcing the law in response to critics who say it is immoral to separate families. “The morality is the law. They are criminals when they came across and that’s why they are getting separated,” Mr. Bannon said. “Children cannot stay with parents who are getting charged with a crime.”

Exactly!!  But, these sycophant reporters in the dominantly liberal mainstream media, and self-serving, self-righteous, hypocritical Dems in Congress who didn’t criticize Obama who presided over the implementation of this duly enacted law, simply don’t get that it’s smart policy to do this.  After all, if your an adult and you cross illegally, you’re committing a felony!  Kids can’t be charged as adults.  Also, just because they’re coming with a kid, doesn’t mean its THEIR kid.  Drug cartel and all sorts of criminals grab kids and cross with them.  We’ve seen many examples of this.  So, the LAW (which cannot be over-ridden by some executive action by the president, as one idiot reporter who didn’t take civics 101 in 6th grade suggested recently on MSNBC) protects many of these illegal immigrant children by separating them from criminals posing as their parents who may also be involved in human trafficking.  Oh, didn’t think of that did ya, MSNBC and Jim Acosta over at CNN?  Tools..  The message that needs to be broadcast south of our southern border is that if you cross illegally with your kids, you will lose them.  Period!  Couple that with an actual wall on the border, and imagine how effective that would be in stopping the flood of illegal aliens invading our country on a daily bases.  Yeah..  Imagine that happy thought.  You’re welcome.    🙂

Record $135 billion a year for illegal immigration, average $8,075 each, $25,000 in NY

The swelling population of illegal immigrants and their kids is costing American taxpayers $135 billion a year, the highest ever, driven by free medical care, education and a huge law enforcement bill, according to the the most authoritative report on the issue yet. And despite claims from pro-illegal immigration advocates that the aliens pay significant off-setting taxes back to federal, state and local treasuries, the Federation for American Immigration Reform report tallied just $19 billion, making the final hit to taxpayers about $116 billion. State and local governments are getting ravaged by the costs, at over $88 billion. The federal government, by comparison, is getting off easy at $45 billion in costs for illegals. President Trump, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and conservatives in Congress are moving aggressively to deal with illegals, especially those with long criminal records. But their effort is being fought by courts and some 300 so-called “sanctuary communities” that refuse to work with federal law enforcement. The added burden on taxpayers and the unfairness to those who have applied to come into the United States through legal channels is also driving the administration’s immigration crackdown. The report, titled “The Fiscal Burden Of Illegal Immigration on U.S. Taxpayers,” is the most comprehensive cost tally from FAIR. It said that the costs have jumped about $3 billion in four years and will continue to surge unless illegal immigration is stopped.

Illegal immigration across southwest border down 70 percent under Trump

Illegal immigration across the southwest border dropped yet again in April, with the number of illegal immigrant children fallen below 1,000 for the first time in recent records, Homeland Security announced Tuesday. The numbers are part of a stunning drop since the beginning of the Trump administration. Border Patrol apprehensions alone are down a shocking 70 percent compared to last year under President Obama. And the administration appears to have solved the surge of illegal immigrant children and families from Central America that bedeviled Mr. Obama. Just 998 children were caught trying to sneak across the border in April, and only 1,119 people traveling as families were nabbed. Just five months earlier, in December, more than 16,000 family members were caught. Border apprehensions are considered a rough yardstick for the overall flow of illegal immigration, so a drop in arrests is believed to reflect an overall drop in the flow of people. Overall, 11,129 people were apprehended trying to sneak across the U.S.-Mexico border in April, down from 12,196 people in March and a significant drop from 43,251 people in December, before President Trump took office. Authorities attributed the continued drop to the administration’s changes in border enforcement policies. “A lot of the discussion about changes in our enforcement policy and the way we are going about doing business, we believe that has deterred people,” said Department of Homeland Security spokesman David Lapan in a briefing at Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters Tuesday. “When you get here it is likely you are going to get caught, you are going to be returned to your country.” Immigration enforcement in the interior of the United States and greater border scrutiny are countering the notion that if immigrants can just make it into the United States, they will be fine, Mr. Lapan said. “It’s causing people to have second thoughts about making those attempts to enter the country illegally,” he said.

Indeed…  But, still a LOT of work to do.

Border Patrol agents warming burritos, babysitting for illegals, chief says

Border Patrol agents have been reduced to “professional child care providers” for illegal immigrants, warming burritos and babysitting the families and unaccompanied children who are surging across the border at an increasing rate, the agents’ frustrated chief told Congress on Wednesday. Chief Mark Morgan, who was tapped to lead the agency in June, said he has had to pull hundreds of his agents from patrolling against drugs and illegal border crossers in Arizona and California and shipped them to Texas, where they would be manning what amounts to day care holding centers, stocking baby powder and placing requisition orders for baby wipes. “Agents, one of their jobs during the day, is to make sure the burritos that are being provided are being warmed properly,” he told the Senate Homeland Security Committee. “It really is child care professional stuff that we’re doing: clothing them, feeding them, making sure that they get the medical attention, making sure that they’re able to sleep, making sure that they get appropriate meals during the day, make sure they have snacks, that meals are warm,” he said. Contradicting his political bosses, Chief Morgan said lax U.S. policies are encouraging the latest surge from Central America and that a tougher policy of fast deportations could cut the rate.

Imagine that!  The comments at the end of the Ann Coulter op/ed (immediately below), apply to this article as well.  Unreal..

Federal Agency Cutting Funds for Cancer Research and Medicare, to Aid Illegal Alien Minors

President Barack Obama’s administration has transferred $167 million in just one month from programs which aid Americans to the programs which feed, house, school, and entertain a wave of illegal alien minors. Obama’s deputies are delivering an average of 255 illegal alien minors every day to Office of Refugee Resettlement at the Department of Health and Human Service, which already has 11,200 illegals in its care as of Nov. 27. HHS is getting the money for the illegals by cutting funds from programs which benefit vulnerable Americans.

Just awful..  To see a list of what programs are being cut to fund support for these illegal alien minors (who shouldn’t be here in the first place), click on the text above.
