Report: James Comey Memos Contained ‘Secret’ or ‘Confidential’ Information

More than half of the memos created by former FBI Director James Comey of his private conversations with President Trump have been found to contain classified information, according to a new report. Four of seven memos Comey created had markings making clear they contained information classified at the “secret” or “confidential” level, officials directly familiar with the matter told The Hill. The revelation that four of the seven memos included some sort of classified information “opens a new door of inquiry into whether classified information was mishandled, improperly stored or improperly shared,” it said. “This revelation raises the possibility that Comey broke his own agency’s rules and ignored the same security protocol that he publicly criticized Hillary Clinton for in the waning days of the 2016 presidential election,” it added. Comey had called Clinton “extremely careless” for creating a private email server that stored classified information but did not recommend prosecution because he said there was no evidence of criminal intent. According to the report, congressional investigators have already begun examining whether Comey’s creation, storage, and sharing of the memos violated FBI policy. “Now, congressional investigators are likely to turn their attention to the same issues to determine if Comey mishandled any classified information in his personal memos,” it said. The report noted that the memos were shown to Congress in recent days. The report also said the FBI considers all of the memos to be “government documents,” contrary to Comey’s claim they were “personal documents.” “FBI policy forbids any agent from releasing classified information or any information from ongoing investigations or sensitive operations without prior written permission, and mandates that all records created during official duties are considered to be government property,” the report said. Comey admitted to senators last month that he leaked at least one memo to his friend Daniel Richman, a Columbia Law School professor and former prosecutor so that he could leak them to the New York Times. The memo he was referring to documented a conversation where Trump allegedly asked Comey to drop his investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn. He argued he did so as a “private citizen” and that these were his “personal documents.”

Donald Trump Appoints Dr. Charmaine Yoest as Assistant Secretary of HHS for Public Affairs

President Donald Trump has appointed the pro-life advocate and former president of Americans United for Life (AUL), Dr. Charmaine Yoest, to be assistant secretary of public affairs for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). National pro-life leader and Susan B. Anthony List President Marjorie Dannenfelser responded to the announcement of Yoest’s appointment with the following statement: ” Charmaine Yoest is one of the pro-life movement’s most articulate and powerful communicators. As the former president and CEO of Americans United for Life, she led groundbreaking efforts to advance pro-life, pro-woman legislation at the state level. She is perfectly suited to take on this role at HHS and it is no surprise to see President Trump once again appoint a strong, pro-life woman to his team. The fact that Yoest will be replacing Kevin Griffis, who now works for Planned Parenthood, is another indication of the dramatic change we’ve seen in Washington since the election of President Trump. This is a new era for the pro-life movement and our fight to protect unborn children and their mothers from the horror of abortion.” Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest provider of abortions, reacted to Yoest’s appointment with a tweet expressing its disapproval: “As president of AUL, Yoest worked to emphasize the negative consequences of abortion for both women and their unborn babies and to require young girls to obtain the consent of their parents prior to obtaining abortions.” Yoest has been a senior fellow at American Values in Washington, DC. She served in the White House under President Ronald Reagan in the Office of Presidential Personnel. Additionally, she served as a Trump for President surrogate and a senior adviser to the 2008 Huckabee for President campaign.

Dr. Yoest sounds eminently qualified despite the left’s fixation on the fact that she’s pro-life…like that’s somehow a bad thing.  If the only “negative” thing Planned Parenthood can say about her is the fact that she has advocated for the idea that underage/young girls get parental permission for an abortion, then she should be confirmed (if the position requires that process).  Besides, it sounds like common sense to me.  An abortion is a very serious medical procedure that oftentimes comes with major medical side effects.  If kids are required to get consent forms signed for little things like get vaccinations, then it only makes sense they should get such written for a major surgical operation, right?  But, we digress..  We have every faith that Dr. Yoest will be a fine assistant secretary at HHS for public affairs, and represent the Trump administration with distinction.  We wish her all the best in her new position!

Hayden thinks Feinstein’s ’emotional’ opposition to CIA interrogations taints report

I’m sure Gen Hayden is on to something.  I’ve seen Dianne Feinstein interviewed and watched her speeches over the years.  Shes a very emotion, illogical person.  She is a VERY agenda-driven politician.   So, for her to suggest otherwise is disingenuous.

GOP lawmakers push EPA to ax proposed water rule amid outcry from farmers

GOP lawmakers push EPA to ax proposed water rule amid outcry from farmers

Read the very bottom of this article.  Its NOT just “GOP” politicians that have concerns about yet another power-grab by the fascist EPA thugs.  Gov. John Hickenlooper is a liberal, hippie, anti-gun, Democrat governor of Colorado, and HE is against it.  So, that tells ya something.  Obama has been abusing executive power, and having his federal agencies like EPA, ATF, and FDA impose crippling regulations (and sending their armed agents to beat down doors!) on farmers, businesses, and individuals all to advance his extreme liberal, Democrat political agenda.  We’re $18 TRILLION dollars in debt, and more and more Americans are living paycheck to paycheck.  But, Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and their ilk don’t care.  They really don’t!  Their focus is green, green, green…EVEN when it’s a complete bust.  Remember Solyndra; a “green” company darling of Obama’s?  A complete waste of our tax dollars.  Obama threw them millions and millions of OUR MONEY, and then they went bankrupt.   But, he doesn’t care.  He is SO ideologically driven, that the causalities (i.e. you and me) are of no concern.  Glad to see a few U.S. Senators TRYING to do something about this.  Its nowhere near enough.  And the governors need to step it up as well.

Rep. Ryan unveils House GOP plan to balance budget, cut $5T in spending

Its about flipping time!  We’re now $18 TRILLION in debt now, and have had TWO credit downgrades since our Socialist-in-Chief took over as President five years ago.  Glad to see someone stepping forward and proposing to actually BALANCE our federal budget, and start cutting some of the ridiculously wasteful spending.

Obama to call for end to NSA’s bulk data collection

Obama to call for end to NSA’s bulk data collection

Interesting..  I’ll have to dig a little deeper to see the pros/cons of this.  At this point..just passing this on.  For the record, I am NOT part of the jump all over NSA crowd.  They have a very important mission, and the dedication and efforts of the folks who work at NSA have thwarted countless numbers of attacks on U.S. soil since 911.   So, while I get that its politically popular to beat them up.  I think that pendulum has swung WAY too far, and that NSA has become the fall guy for BAD leadership at the White House.
