Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein Praises China, Claims It Is ‘Growing into a Respectable Nation’

Allowing citizens to sue China for damages caused by the novel coronavirus would backfire and open up the United States to the same level of scrutiny from other countries around the world, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., said Thursday. Feinstein, whose remarks came during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, said, “We launch a series of unknown events that could be very, very dangerous. I think this is a huge mistake.” “Where I live… we hold China as a potential trading partner,” she said earlier. “As a country that has pulled tens of millions of people out of poverty in a short period of time. And as a country growing into a respectable nation among other nations. And I deeply believe that. I’ve been to China a number of times. I’ve studied the issues.” Feinstein claimed other countries, including China, may decide to use the new legal precedent against the U.S., setting off a chain reaction, resulting in global chaos. Her comments come three months after Missouri’s Attorney General Eric Schmitt, a Republican, provided a statement to Fox News about a lawsuit he filed against China on behalf of the state, saying that the impact of COVID-19 has led to thousands of Missourians being infected, killed and economically devastated. “In Missouri, the impact of the virus is very real — thousands have been infected and many have died, families have been separated from dying loved ones, small businesses are shuttering their doors, and those living paycheck to paycheck are struggling to put food on their table,” he wrote. After the lawsuit was filed, an article posted on the Global Times, which is a branch of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP’s) People’s Daily, said the nation is “extremely dissatisfied with the abuse of litigation” by U.S. leadership,” and is considering punitive countermeasures against U.S. individuals, entities and state officials, including Schmitt. As the partisan divide with respect to China continues to deepen, Democrats have refrained from condemning the CCP’s actions while Senate Republicans — along with members of the Trump administration — have chosen to take the Chinese government head-on. In addition to Schmitt’s efforts, GOP Sens. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Rich Scott, R-Fla., have been publically critical of the CCP, with Scott going so far as to introduce a Senate bill to shield vaccine research from Chinese spies and infiltrators. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has also taken a hardline stance against China, warning state governors of China’s sophisticated practices with regard to U.S. infiltration and later claiming the CCP poses a real “risk” to the safety and security of America. In 2018, President Trump slammed Feinstein for having a Chinese spy on her staff serving as her driver. Feinstein was said to have been “mortified” when she learned the news, according to Politico. The FBI wasn’t able to charge the individual, but Feinstein “forced him to retire,” a source told the San Francisco Chronicle. Feinstein’s comments come as the results of a new Pew Research Center survey were released, showing that over three-quarters of American adults blame the Chinese government for the global spread of the coronavirus and over 60 percent of respondents said the country has done a poor job handling the aftermath of the outbreak. The survey, which polled 1,003 individuals and was conducted from June 16 to July 14, showed 73 percent of U.S. adults have an unfavorable view of China, which marks the most negative rating in the 15 years that Pew Research Center has been conducting polling on the subject.

Again, we see another high-profile Democrat lauding and kissing up to China, even while we’re all suffering in one way or another from the Wuhan virus.  In the case of Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA)…she’s in her late 80s (currently 87), and is an old-school, liberal globalist.  So, this totally makes sense for someone like her.  She was also the former mayor of San Francisco, which is over 35% Asian.  So, probably on some level, it’s ethnic pandering.  But, her timing couldn’t be worse.  She’s utterly clueless about the current paradigm, and how a solid majority of Americans feel about the Wuhan virus , and whom they rightfully blame; China.  So, her comments here are at best ill considered, ill timed, and shows just how tone-deaf and out of touch with Americans she is.  She is clearly more worried about China and appeasing them, then Americans.  As a U.S. Senator, she should be far more worried about putting Americans FIRST.

Trump Calls for American Independence Agenda to Defeat Coronavirus: U.S. Must Never Rely on a Foreign Country

President Trump is calling for Republicans and Democrats to unite behind his American independence agenda to defeat the spread of the Chinese coronavirus. During a Tuesday press conference, Trump detailed the “critical” need for American independence in manufacturing, the energy sector, and territorially at the nation’s borders to stop the coronavirus crisis: We should never be reliant on a foreign country for the means of our own survival. I think we’ve learned a lot. This crisis has underscored just how critical it is to have strong borders and a robust manufacturing sector. For three years, we’ve embarked on a great national project to secure our immigration system and bring back our manufacturing jobs. We’ve brought back many jobs, record numbers of jobs, and this really shows, this experience shows how important borders are. Without borders, you don’t have a nation. [Emphasis added] Trump said his agenda to fighting the coronavirus and lifting the United States out of a state of globalist dependency includes manufacturing pharmaceuticals and essential supplies and equipment in America, made by American workers. “Our goal for the future must be to have American medicine for American patients, American supplies for American hospitals, and American equipment for our great American heroes,” Trump said. “Now both parties must unite to ensure America is truly an independent nation in every sense of the word.” “Energy independence, we’ve established it, something incredible we’ve established … manufacturing independence, economic independence, and territorial independence enforced by strong, sovereign borders,” Trump continued: America will never be a supplicate nation. We will be a proud, prosperous, and self-reliant nation. We will embrace commerce with all but will be dependent on none. Above all, we know the best thing for our economy and the world right now is a very, very powerful victory over the virus. [Emphasis added] On immigration, Trump has invoked a federal statute to close the U.S.-Mexico and U.S.-Canada borders to foreign migrants to stop the spread of the coronavirus. Trump has also implemented travel bans on China, Iran, and Europe to prevent travel-related infections in the U.S. Meanwhile, Trump’s administration has worked closely with private industry to ramp up domestic production of necessary supplies and equipment — including one deal with 3M to produce 35 million respirator masks a month at its South Dakota manufacturing plant. The results of U.S. free trade with China have meant that the U.S. currently depends on China to produce an estimated 97 percent of all antibiotics and 80 percent of the active pharmaceutical ingredients that are needed to manufacture drugs in the U.S. Since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was enacted and China entered the World Trade Organization (WTO), nearly five million American manufacturing jobs have been eliminated from the American economy — 3.4 million of which are due to U.S. free trade with China. The mass elimination of working- and middle-class jobs and depressed U.S. wages due to NAFTA and China’s entering the WTO have coincided with a 600 percent increase in trade deficits.

Thankfully, NAFTA is history, and many of those dreadful trade deals with China are being redone.  That said, we definitely welcome this new position by the Trump Administration.  We rely heavily on China and other countries for key products, goods and services.  And, recently, China not-so-subtly threatened to hold back critical drugs during this Wuhan virus epidemic.  We cannot allow ourselves to be held hostage to another nation for energy, or key goods and services like pharmaceuticals.  As we oftentimes say here at The Daily Buzz…  If given the option to buy a product made in China or maybe one that’s a few bucks more, but it says Made in the USA…PLEASE PLEASE consider buying the American product, made in America by American workers.  Let’s all vote with our wallets.

Coulter: Cheap TVs, Expensive Flu

Here’s a thought: While self-quarantining with their families in multimillion-dollar Manhattan co-ops, Wall Street wives ought to have a chat with their Master of the Universe husbands about China, globalism and political correctness. Those are the vectors of their robber-baron wealth. Thanks to “globalism” — i.e., cheap goods from China — we’ve gotten many wondrous things, for example: — Toothpaste on American shelves made with a poison found in antifreeze. — Toxic Chinese drywall installed in about 100,000 U.S. homes, emitting noxious fumes that destroyed electrical wiring and metal fixtures and sickened homeowners. Replacement of the drywall, pipes and wiring cost Americans billions of dollars. — Hundreds, possibly thousands, of American dogs killed by melamine-laced Chinese dog food in 2007. — The loss of about 200,000 beautiful maple trees lining the streets of small New England towns, eaten by Asian long-horned beetles that arrived on Chinese cargo ships in 1996. The U.S. taxpayer spends hundreds of millions of dollars to eradicate the repeated outbreaks that continue to this day, despite promises from the Chinese to do better. — Viral pandemics — H1N1 (from China), bird flu (from China), SARS (from China) and now the Wuhan virus (from China). Is it really worth paying $3 for a T-shirt at Walmart, rather than $9? The precise reason Chinese goods are so cheap is that they skip the crucial quality-control step. The media’s reaction to this latest pandemic out of China is to say … LET’S GET ONE THING STRAIGHT: THE CHINESE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! Well, like most animal-to-human viruses, this one did originate in China and then spread across the globe when Chinese tourists infected people in other countries. As described by Melinda Liu in Smithsonian Magazine, the Chinese wet markets, “often poorly ventilated, with multiple species jammed together — create ideal conditions for spreading disease through shared water utensils or airborne droplets of blood and other secretions.” This 2017 article was titled: “Is China Ground Zero for a Future Pandemic?” When the pandemic arrived, at least the World Health Organization leapt to action. First step: Find a cure? Develop a vaccine? Demand protections for the elderly? NO! WHO officials got together and worked on coming up with a new name for the “Wuhan virus” that sounded less Asian. Next, the WHO put out a “Fact Sheet” to ensure that those with Kung Flu would not be stigmatized. It instructed: “DO — talk about people ‘acquiring’ or ‘contracting’ #COVID-19. “DON’T — talk about people ‘transmitting COVID-19,’ ‘infecting others’ or “spreading the virus’ as it implies intentional transmission & assigns blame.” As fear of the Chinese virus spread, Gloria Allred brought a lawsuit against a Los Angeles school for sending an Asian student to the school nurse after he coughed in class. Americans are cowering in their homes. Airlines, restaurants, beaches, ski resorts, professional sports, colleges and stores have been shut down. But we must never violate the fundamental civil right of an Asian to cough in class and refuse to see the nurse! The New York Times has also been on the racism beat, with these pressing stories: As Chinese Grapple With a New Illness, an Old Stigma Is Revived An Outbreak of Racist Sentiment as Coronavirus Reaches Australia As Coronavirus Spreads, So Does Anti-Chinese Sentiment And there’s more! Virus Fuels Anti-Chinese Sentiment Overseas Coronavirus Outbreak Risks Reviving Stigma for China Wait – here’s another: For a Chinese Traveler, Even Paradise Comes With Prejudice A few weeks ago — before a trillion dollars in wealth was destroyed by the coronavirus panic and we learned the real disease was racism — everyone, including the Times, admitted that the virus was brought to Italy by two Chinese tourists. “[T]here had not yet been any confirmed cases in Italy,” the Times reported, until Jan. 30, “when the government announced the first two cases.” The scientific director of an infectious diseases hospital in Rome identified them: “two Chinese tourists visiting Rome.” The Times buried this fact in an article perversely titled: “Cruise Passengers Are Held at Italian Port in False Alarm Over Coronavirus.” On one hand, a bunch of cruise passengers were inconvenienced for 12 hours; on the other hand, a viral pandemic that could kill millions was introduced to Italy. You write the headline. Lombardy is the Italian region most devastated by the Wuhan virus. As far back as 2003, a Library of Congress report cited Lombardy as having the highest concentration of Chinese immigrants in Italy. Our media refuses to tell us this fact today — or any day. No hard feelings, but why not relieve people’s minds? West Virginians who have no contact with anyone visiting from China can rest easy! No need to stockpile toilet paper. While we’re at it, when will the media and the “medical community” get around to informing Americans that this latest Chinese pandemic poses little danger to anyone under 70 without certain chronic medical conditions? Italy has been ravaged by the Wuhan virus, but the average age of the dead is 81. According to the dire estimates of the Imperial College of London — whose assessment we are following — excepting those with underlying medical conditions, the new coronavirus could be less deadly than the seasonal flu to anyone under 60 years old and no worse than the 2017-18 flu season for those in their 60s. But it’s five to 10 times more deadly than the regular flu for those in their 70s and 80s, respectively. We ought to surround old folks homes with the National Guard and call it a day. It would probably save more lives and wouldn’t destroy the economy. But there’s no time to think about saving lives. The important thing is to stamp out the idea that a virus that originated in China has anything to do China.

That is EXACTLY how silly the WHO, many Democrat politicians, and the dominantly liberal mainstream media are being about this.  I watched yet another painful give and take between the President and his very able Wuhan virus task-force, and the liberal media.  And, more than one reporter in the room brought up the “racism” comment when the President referred to the “Chinese virus.”  Ebola was named after a river, and of course..Rocky Mountain Fever..hello?  They’re ALL named after places they came from.  And, this one originated in Wuhan, China.  Period.  We all know this.  So, for the President to call it the “Chinese Virus” is perfectly appropriate and NOT racist at all.  We’re calling it the Wuhan Virus here at The Daily Buzz to be even more accurate. Again..NOT racist.  The reason the President is calling it that now is simply because the Chinese communist propaganda machine is pushing a lie that the U.S. Army created the virus.  That is not only factually inaccurate.  But, it’s offensive and shows just how gutless and cowardly the Chinese government is.  Because of their cultural need to save face above all else, they’re unwilling to do the right thing and admit the truth; that it started in Wuhan, China…and that they tried to cover up the problem in the hopes that it went away.  So, instead of reporting it to he rest of us, the covered it up.  As for the “racism” red herring…  Is it racist to say you want to order “Chinese food?”  Of course not.  Same thing.  What makes this controversial in the minds of these gutless liberal media types, is that it’s Trump who is using that phrase..and that simply isn’t acceptable…and makes him a “racist.”  Fortunately, we all know better.  So, we roll our eyes, shake our heads, and change the channel.  Again, we remind everyone while you’re home and thinking about ordering some products online…  Consider what has happened, where it started, and BUY AMERICAN!  If there is a choice between a product made in China, and one made here in the USA, and it’s only a few bucks more…please support American businesses and American workers.  Let’s send a unified message to China that we’re not buying their cheap crap anymore.   Thanks to Ann Coulter’s dry wit and sarcasm, and for calling out these gutless liberal tools in the media pushing the “Trump is a racist” phony narrative.  To read that article from 2017 that she referenced, click on the text above.  Excellent!!       🙂
