GOP Mocks Bill Clinton For Lecturing Trump on Oval Office Conduct: Irony ‘Should Not Be Lost on Anyone’

Former President Bill Clinton, whose presidency was engulfed by an extramarital affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, lectured President Trump for bringing “chaos” into the Oval Office during his Tuesday evening address at the Democratic National Convention, drawing a swift reaction from members of the GOP, who could not help but note the irony. Clinton kicked off his address by criticizing Trump’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic, assessing that the Wuhan virus “hit us much harder than it had to” before slamming the president’s Oval Office conduct. “At a time like this, the Oval Office should be a command center. Instead, it’s a storm center,” Clinton said. “There’s only chaos.” “Just one thing never changes: his determination to deny responsibility and shift the blame. The buck never stops there. Now, you have to decide whether to renew his contract or hire someone else,” he continued. “If you want a president who defies the job, is spending hours a day watching TV and zapping people on social media, he’s your man. Denying, distracting, and demeaning works great if you’re trying to entertain or inflame,” the former president added. “But in a real crisis, it collapses like a house of cards.” Many Republicans could not help but note the irony of Clinton criticizing Trump over proper Oval Office conduct, given his past: “The irony of Bill Clinton talking about the sanctity of the Oval Office should not be lost on anyone!” Donald Trump Jr. remarked: “With a straight face, Bill Clinton just tried to tell us ‘how’ the Oval Office should be used,” Trump campaign national press secretary Hogan Gidley said. “The absolute LAST person in the known universe I’d listen to about ‘how’ the Oval Office should be used…is Bill Clinton”: “The second night of the Convention was the parade of hypocrites. Sally Yates is concerned about politisizing [sic] DOJ? Bill Clinton wants to cleanse the Oval Office?” Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani said

This was pretty brazen even for Bill Clinton who knows no shame.  And, he wasn’t at his best.  He looked tired and old as he read from that prepared script.  It’s stunning just how tone-deaf the Clinton’s are these days..  For more, click on the text above..

Opinion/Analysis: For Democrats, the Era of American Exceptionalism Is Over

Defunding city police departments. Exploding murder rates. Free health care for illegal aliens. Crushing debt. Obliterating American history. For Democrat politicians, the era of American Exceptionalism is over. Welcome to the land of “Shelter in place!” The fear-mongering and demagoguery are enough to choke a mule. At least it would choke the mule that symbolized the old Democrat Party. Even the Democrat Party of just a few elections ago. These people today? They have gone plumb mad. The patients have taken siege of the asylum. Sen. Mazie Hirono, Hawaii Democrat, stormed out of a committee hearing this week rather than denounce the fascist domestic terrorist group calling itself “Antifa.” The loose-knit, violent mob has been implicated in firebombing police stations and federal buildings, attacking peace officers — including blinding four cops with laser pointers — and violently assaulting innocent citizens. Yet, Democrats such as House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler dismiss the mayhem caused by these anti-American terrorists as “a myth.” Despite reels and reels of video evidence. In a public hearing, Mr. Nadler actually blamed the violence on President Trump and Attorney General William Barr. It is all manufactured footage for President Trump’s re-election campaign, he charged. It is literally impossible to take these people seriously. You would not trust them to change a flat tire on your bicycle, let alone run the government. Turns out that enforcing laws, to these people, is the equivalent of tearing down statues and bludgeoning innocent people. And to think: Mr. Nadler is the highest-ranking House Democrat on matters of the judiciary. Ms. Hirono is on the actual committee that chooses federal judges — the very black-robed men and women who mete out life and death decisions for regular, tax-paying citizens of this country. So much for equal justice under law. Or justice in any form other than mob justice. Terrifying. But this is what happens when an entire party is hijacked by fascist mobs that govern by Twitter. They blot out any dissent. First, on “social media.” Then in the streets, where their preferred weapons are brass knuckles, ropes and Molotov cocktails. The only response from Democrat pols in Washington is to condemn law enforcement and accuse police of being the “fascists.” Remember President Obama? Remember 2008? That was a different time. A different campaign. It was hopeful. He at least pretended to love America. He denounced divisions between “red” America and “blue” America. Not that he governed like that. But at least he was wise enough to know he could never get elected peddling any of the crazy nonsense these Democrats today are slopping out. That is why President Obama chose to be Joe Biden’s political protege in the 2008 campaign. But poor Joe Biden today. He is either too dumb or too out of it to realize what his party has become. Again, Barack Obama would NEVER have run on a platform like this. But, forever leading from behind, Mr. Obama endorsed his “first wave” of Democrats running in New York this year. Among those Mr. Obama hilariously “endorsed” is Jamaal Bowman, a socialist community organizer who already beat longtime sitting Democrat Congressman Eliot Engel for the Democrat nomination over three weeks ago. Talk about leading from behind! Among those Mr. Obama did not include in his list of endorsements was sitting Congressperson Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the freshman member of Congress who is leading her party’s circus off the cliff into the arms of “Antifa.” Maybe Mr. Obama worries that Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is too radical for his “brand” of politics. Or maybe he is just jealous.

Eh..  Who cares?  Nobody cares about Barack Obama anymore.  He’s old news and irrelevant.  What IS important is the direction the Democratic Party and its leadership are going down.  That IS important, and very relevant in this election year.  Even more critical are the people who are surrounding Joe Biden….especially if he should (God forbid) win in November.  Thanks to veteran D.C. columnist Charles Hurt for that spot-on analysis.  Charlie can be reached at churt@washingtontimes.com or @charleshurt on Twitter

GOP reps push resolution to ban Democratic Party over past slavery ties

A group of Republican House members, led by Rep. Louis Gohmert of Texas, introduced a resolution Thursday that would effectively ban the Democratic Party from the House or force a party name change over past slavery ties — a response to the recent efforts to remove tributes to past members of the Confederacy from the halls of Congress. It specifically cites the Democratic Party platform’s support for slavery between 1840 and 1856, and other racist actions by party members through the early-to-mid 1900s, before calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., to “remove any items that names, symbolizes or mentions any political organization or party that has ever held a public position that supported slavery or the Confederacy” from the House and its properties. The resolution also says such a party “shall either change its name or be barred from participation in the House of Representatives.” Gohmert, in a statement accompanying the bill, told Democrats they should rebrand to “avoid triggering” anyone. “As outlined in the resolution, a great portion of the history of the Democratic Party is filled with racism and hatred,” Gohmert said. “Since people are demanding we rid ourselves of the entities, symbols, and reminders of the repugnant aspects of our past, then the time has come for Democrats to acknowledge their party’s loathsome and bigoted past, and consider changing their party name to something that isn’t so blatantly and offensively tied to slavery, Jim Crow, discrimination, and the Ku Klux Klan.” He added: “To avoid triggering innocent bystanders by the racist past of the Democratic Party, I would suggest they change their name. That is the standard to which they are holding everyone else, so the name change needs to occur.” The resolution’s co-sponsors are Reps. Andy Biggs, R-Ariz., Jody Hice, R-Ga., Randy Weber, R-Texas, and Andy Harris, R-Md. It is unlikely to pass, but appears to be meant more as a criticism of allegedly “blatant hypocrisy” around the House’s approval of a measure removing Confederate busts in the Capitol this week. Weber, speaking on the House floor after Gohmert introduced his resolution, criticized “cancel culture.” “The cancel culture train, H.R. 7573, that passed yesterday, was wrong on a deep level. I’m not going to get on that cancel culture train that says we have to do away with any mention or remembrance of everybody or everything that we don’t agree with, or that might have said something we don’t like, didn’t like, or that might have stood for something that we don’t stand for,” Weber said. Because the resolution is privileged, it takes priority over other business on the House floor. And assuming it isn’t dispensed with via voice vote, lawmakers would likely be forced to go on the record on the resolution, even if that’s through a motion to table it or refer it to a committee.

HAHAHA!!!  FINALLY!!  Finally someone is calling out the Dems caving to the cancel culture of their mob constituency on their spectacular hypocrisy!  Of course, this will go nowhere.  But, hopefully it’ll get to a point where these self-serving, grandstanding, Democrat hypocrites are forced to vote on such a measure…and go on the record.  MAJOR kudos to Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) and the other GOP legislators who sponsored this resolution, and for calling these nauseating Democrats out.  Outstanding!!!     🙂

Sen. Bill Cassidy: The Democratic Party Should Change Its Name Due to Its Racist Past

The following is an open letter to Thomas Perez, Chairman of the Democratic National Committee, regarding Democratic elected officials calling for the removal of memorials and names from buildings and events: “Dear Chairman Perez, Peaceful protests over George Floyd’s death have been overshadowed by woke rhetoric. Justice for Floyd and legislative police reform efforts have morphed into identifying offensive statements and personal associations of public and historical figures. Demands are then levied to erase their names, memorials, and if alive, that they remove themselves from public life. This “call to action” disregards the time elapsed since the event, the context or the person’s other notable achievements. This happened at Louisiana State University, my alma mater. California Democrats wish to erase John Wayne’s name off the Orange County Airport, and Princeton University will remove references to Woodrow Wilson, a past President of Princeton, Governor of New Jersey, and President of the United States. It seems only a matter of time until there are ropes on the Washington and Jefferson Memorials and calls to rename Washington, D.C. But let’s look at the logical conclusion of obliterating or erasing mention of anyone who transgressed. Given the Democratic Party’s embarrassment that Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson were Democrats (gone is the Jefferson-Jackson Day) shouldn’t the party be embarrassed of its own name? Isn’t the Democratic Party’s role in our country’s worse episodes of racism offensive? The Democratic Party was founded by slave owners. These slave owners insisted upon a constitution which preserved slavery. The Democratic Party opposed Republican efforts to end slavery. The Democratic Party opposed Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation. After the Civil War, Democrats opposed Republican efforts to give newly freed slaves voting rights and civil rights. In more recent times, Democratic members of the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives fought Civil Rights legislation, beginning with Republican President Dwight Eisenhower’s Civil Rights Act of 1957. Democratic governors fought integration of schools and public services, and the list goes on. It took courageous decisions by Republican judges and the enforcement of these laws by President Eisenhower who at one point called out the military to overcome resistance. Two Democratic luminaries, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black and long serving Senator Robert Byrd, were members of the KKK as young men. Most recently, Democratic mayors have permitted policies such as choke holds and unconstitutional use of force. If the Democratic mayor of Minneapolis had insisted on police reforms, George Floyd would be alive. Two weeks ago, Senate Democrats refused to even allow debate on the Justice Act, a bill with reforms which would prevent deaths similar to George Floyd’s. Democrats said they would not allow debate on the Justice Act because they did not like the process. People will die because of not liking a process. This further sullies the title Democrat. Of course, the Democratic Party is responsible for many good things, but the current spirit of the age is not to balance the totality of what someone or some organization has done. If there is any association with the intolerable, even if the person or organization contributed greatly to the freedoms we have today, even providing the intellectual framework which inspired Lincoln and Martin Luther King, Jr. as did Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence, they or it must be erased. In which case, the Democratic Party should be renamed if not disbanded. Sincerely, Bill Cassidy, MD P.S. I actually think the Democratic Party should keep its name. But the measure given will be the measure received. What I write as irony will soon be another’s earnest intent. Why not?

Thanks to Dr./Sen. Bill Cassidy (R) for that outstanding example of trolling the Dems!  Sen. Cassidy is the senior U.S. Senator from the great state of Louisiana.  The brazen hypocrisy of Democrat politicians right now is beyond breathtaking.  And, frankly, the good Senator is being nice.  As the militant left mob goes to tear down anything Confederate, they should be reminded that that it was DEMOCRAT white Confederate men who founded the KKK, and that the membership of the Klan was 100% white DEMOCRATS for the first CENTURY of its existence (i.e. 1865 – the mid 1960s, give/take).  That’s something the dominantly liberal mainstream media, and current Democrat politicians don’t want you to know…  Kinda like the fact that Al Gore (D) never wanted anyone to know his father voted AGAINST the Civil Rights Act in the 1960s.  And, everyone, including Bill Clinton, made all sorts of excuses for the fact that Sen. Robert Byrd (D-WV) was not only a “member” of the KKK; he was an “Exalted Cyclops,” which was the top officer in his organization.  And Sen. Byrd was in the U.S. Senate up til 2010…and Obama didn’t seem to mind.  Just fathom if there had been a Republican Senator or member of Congress with such a background..  He/she wouldn’t last one day in either chamber, let alone become the Senate Majority Leader…like Sen. Byrd did.
