Caravan of Migrants

Self-identified MS-13 gang member arrested by Border Patrol agents says he came to US with caravan: CBP

A self-identified MS-13 gang member arrested over the weekend told Customs and Border Protection (CBP) that he was part of the caravan of immigrants trying to enter the U.S. Agents working the El Centro Sector crossed paths with the man eastward of the Calexico Port of Entry in California on Saturday around 6 p.m., the agency said in a news release. Border Patrol agents questioned the man, who they “suspected of being in the United States illegally,” upon which he revealed he was a Honduran citizen and part of MS-13, CBP said. “The man also told agents he traveled to the United States border with a large group of people from Central America intending on filing for asylum in the United States,” the news release said. The individual was later identified as Jose Villalobos-Jobel, 29, who will be held until he’s ultimately sent back to Honduras, CBP said. “As President Trump and Secretary Nielsen warned, over the last few weeks we have identified over 600 known criminals and gang members in the caravan,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement. “We are now predictably seeing members of the caravan – which includes criminals – show up at the border and claim asylum. These threats are only going to increase in light of illegitimate judicial injunctions and loopholes created by Congress.”

President Trump was criticized by Dems and the dominantly liberal mainstream media when he said MS-13 and other bad actors were in this so-called “caravan of migrants.”  Apparently he was exactly right.  Of course this story isn’t being reported by those liberal news agencies, as it undermines their narrative.  Typical..

First caravan-related violence reported in U.S. as rocks thrown at Border Patrol

The Border Patrol reported the first major instance of migrant caravan-related violence Saturday, saying a Honduran man threw rocks at agents to try to keep from being arrested Friday in Arizona. The 31-year-old, whom authorities didn’t name, had climbed a tree to try to avoid capture, then lit the tree afire and began to throw rocks at the agents as well as a helicopter called in to help track him. Neither the agents nor the helicopter were hit by the projectiles. The man was eventually arrested, and agents said he told them he was part of the migrant caravan that had been in the news. They said he had previous arrests in the U.S. and had been deported back in June. A local fire department had to be called to extinguish the fire. Caravan members totaling as many as 10,500 have been massing on the Mexican side of the border in recent weeks, Homeland Security officials say. While many images of the caravan show women and children, U.S. authorities say a majority of members are single adults, predominantly men, from Central America. That would make the Honduran man’s claims of caravan membership plausible. President Trump last month had specifically warned of the danger of rock-throwing by caravan members, and had said agents should treat rock-throwers as if they were using firearms. Indeed, rock-throwing, or “rocking” incidents, as they’re known to agents, can be violent encounters, often involving small boulders hefted at agents or their vehicles with enough force to shatter bones or dent trucks. U.S. officials have been worried about caravan-related violence since watching thousands of people bust through Mexico’s southern border, tussling with Mexican police who’d been sent down to try to prevent them from entering. It’s not clear why the Honduran man broke off from the rest of the caravans to attempt to enter on his own. Agents had first detected him when they spotted footprints along the border just east of the Andrade, California, border crossing.

American lawyers rush to Mexico to help caravan

A team of American lawyers is being deployed to Mexico to help advise members of the new migrant caravan on their options as they try to reach the U.S. and, in many cases, to demand asylum. The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights, a Los Angeles-based organization, said it wanted to be proactive in getting assistance to the caravan, which has reached Mexico City. “Our immigration attorneys are part of a humane, compassionate, and concrete response for migrants,” said Luis Perez, legal services director for the group. While the elections have pushed the caravan from the front pages this week, thousands of Central Americans are still intent on reaching the U.S. They’ve camped in Mexico City where, according to local news reports, they are debating the route they’ll take as they head north, trying to reach the U.S.-Mexico border. President Trump has deployed more than 5,000 active-duty U.S. troops to the American side of the border, where they are hardening the ports of entry with razor wire fencing and working to support Border Patrol agents in the field. But it’s not clear the troops will have much effect on migrants who intend to show up at the ports of entry and demand asylum, exploiting what the administration calls “loopholes” that allow them to gain a foothold here even though few will eventually be deemed qualified. Mr. Trump last month said he would sign an executive order this week clamping down on asylum claims, though he didn’t give any details.

THIS is why it is imperative that these individuals NOT be allowed to step one foot on U.S. soil.  Once they do, then they’ll get all sorts of legal protection and other freebies that we, the actual tax-paying legal citizens of America, will have to pay for.

DHS: 300 in Migrant Caravans Are Known Convicts, Gang Members

Department of Homeland Security officials report that nearly 300 members of the migrant caravans en route to the U.S. at this time are either convicted criminals or known gang members. The criminals include individuals with convictions for sexual assault on a child, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, and assault on a female, officials reported. In an effort to lay out the facts about the migrant caravans approaching the U.S. from Central America, DHS officials reported that more than 270 people traveling along the caravan route have criminal histories or are known to be members of violent gangs. ” We continue to be concerned about individuals along the caravan route. In fact, over 270 individuals along the caravan route have criminal histories, including known gang membership. Those include a number of violent criminals – examples include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, armed robbery, sexual assault on a child, and assault on a female. Mexican officials have also publicly stated that criminal groups have infiltrated the caravan. We also continue to see individuals from over 20 countries in this flow from countries such as Somalia, India, Haiti, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. There is a large segment of this population that we know nothing about and we must be prepared to defend our border and enforce our laws to protect the citizens of our country.” The Mexican ambassador to the United States described some of the caravan migrants as “very violent,” DHS officials stated. “Unfortunately, some of the people in the caravan have been very violent against authority, even though they have offered the possibility of entering in compliance with immigration law and refugee status,” the ambassador said. During a radio interview, Mexico’s Interior Minister Navarrete Prida confirmed that criminal groups and gangs have infiltrated the migrant caravans.

Remember this the next time you see some tool on MSNBC or CNN downplay the threat posed by this so-called “caravan of migrants.”  Kudos to President Trump and his DHS for taking it seriously and enforcing our borders.  This story is developing..

U.S. military to deploy 5,000 troops to southern border: Report

The U.S. will send 5,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico to counter a massive migrant caravan, the Wall Street Journal reported Monday. The new estimate is a dramatic increase from Thursday, when the military planned to only deploy 800 troops. According to The Journal, troops will be stationed at ports of entry divided among Texas, Arizona and California and will later help with administrative tasks on the U.S.-side of the border. President Trump aimed another warning at the caravan, stressing that “our military is waiting for you!”

Caravan Migrants: ‘What Are We Supposed to Do in Honduras If There’s no Work?’

Migrants traveling with the 7,000-strong caravan headed to the U.S.-Mexico border to overwhelm the country’s asylum and immigration system are admitting that they are merely foreign workers looking for jobs. Migrants with the caravan — many of whom are previously deported illegal aliens — recently admitted to the Washington Post in interviews that they are economic migrants, not asylum-seekers. Evin Mata, a 21-year-old previously deported illegal alien, told the Post that his travels with the caravan to the southern border are about getting a U.S. job, which is not an eligible claim for asylum. “We are workers,” Mata said. “What are we supposed to do in Honduras if there’s no work?” Another previously deported illegal alien with the migrant caravan, Job Reyes, told the Post that his looking to get back into the U.S. — like Mata’s — was about securing a job, not asylum. “I don’t know what they expect about us,” Reyes said. “But basically what we want is to have a better opportunity, to have a job, you know?” Migrants with the caravan interviewed by NBC News similarly admitted that their goal in marching through the country’s southern border was to look for jobs, as Breitbart News reported. NBC News admitted in their report on the migrant that “She hopes to reach the U.S. and find work to send money back home.” President Trump on Monday announced that he would begin the process of cutting off foreign aid to Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador for their inability to stop the migrant caravan from marching up to the U.S.-Mexico border. The president also called the caravan a “national emergency.” The Central American countries receive more than $500 million in federal aid from the U.S. every year. Trump has not yet indicated how much of that federal aid will be cut.

Yesterday, the talking points in the dominantly liberal mainstream media were calling these people “asylum seekers.”  It was on CNN, MSNBC, NBC, and so on.  FAKE NEWS!!  Many of them proudly carry the flag of their county; not something you’d do if you were oppressed.  And, reporters from NBC, the Washington Post, as well as Fox News have ALL said that when they interview these people, they just say they’re trying to get to America for “jobs.”….which is, of course, perfectly reasonable and understandable.   BUT, that doesn’t ENTITLE them to push their way into America illegally and demand that.  They need to get in line BEHIND everybody else who has legally applied for entry.  Something else the “fake news” media never bothers to report on..  Who is paying for these people to get across multiple countries?  Who is funding this effort?  Things that make ya go, “hmmm”…

Judge Jeanine: ‘The Military Needs to Be Deployed to Our Southern Border Immediately’

Saturday on Fox News Channel’s “Justice,” host Jeanine Pirro opened her show with an “Opening Statement” aimed at the so-called caravan originating in Central America attempting to cross the U.S.-Mexico border. Pirro laid out her criteria for allowing anyone within the caravan into the country, which included public safety, what the crosser would have to offer the country and their willingness to pledge their allegiances to the U.S. flag and not the flag of where they had originated. “The military needs to be deployed our southern border immediately to stop the caravan of thousands of illegals pouring into our nation,” she said. “Right now is a very dangerous time for Americans. Border control is essential to your safety and the safety of your family. The military, the National Guard, ICE, Border Patrol and DHS needs to block this caravan from entering our nation. Now, I’m not saying they are all criminals. What I am asking is, who are they? What I am saying is I want to vet them, screen them. I want to find out who among them is a criminal, who among them is a gang member like the notorious MS-13 gang members who arrogantly rode into our country during the Obama years and they are in New York and elsewhere brutally and savagely murdering innocent American citizens.” “I want to know who is a pedophile, who is a sex offender, who thinks they are entitled to beat their wives?” Pirro continued. “I want to know who has an alcohol problem, who has a drug problem, who likes to drive drunk and who has no problem hauling drugs for the cartel? And if you can prove you are not a criminal, I want to know what you have to offer us. What do you bring to this great nation? What are you going to contribute? Why should we be proud to count you as an America, other than adding to the Democrats voting bloc and continuing the mob mentality that you already exhibited you are proficient at. Now, if you are not a criminal I want you to get to the back of the line behind everyone else who waited for a visa, came here legally, hired a lawyer, learned American history and sworn allegiance to this great nation. And only then am I interested in even talking to you about entering. I, for one, am sick and tired of the sense of entitlement that illegals have to enter this country then immediately claim their constitutional rights as they carry the flags, not of America, but the flags of their country. And God forbid if we try to deport them to the flag of the country they so proudly wave. “They break our laws to come here,” she added. “They are not entitled to be here. They break our laws to come here. This is not a left or right issue — this is a security issue. A safety issue. We simply cannot have people about whom we know nothing living next door to us, working next to us or driving next to us.”

Agreed Judge!  Only one small hyper-technical issue.  Having the regular Army, or other branch of the military wouldn’t be an option because of the Posse Comitatus Act.  Only the National Guard, which is the only military branch with police powers.  So, the risk of running afoul of some legal technicality is reduced significantly.  Plus the Army National Guard of states like Texas, Arizona, and other border states are compromised of soldiers who live in those states…and have skin in the game.  So, they’ll really step up to the challenge, if mobilized (put on “active duty orders”) to protect our southern border, whether it’s to stop this so-called “caravan of migrants”…or to just protect our southern border against the regular invasion by illegal aliens that we’ve been experiencing for a couple decades now.
