Benghazi

Jason Chaffetz: President Obama tries to re-write history on Benghazi

In a brazen attempt to re-write history, President Barack Obama in a speech on Friday blamed “the politics of resentment and paranoia,” which he said had found a home in the Republican Party, for “wild conspiracy theories – like those surrounding Benghazi.” What a reprehensible way to frame an event that killed four Americans while they waited for rescue and protection they deserved from people Barack Obama never sent. Of course, you only heard about Obama’s characterization of Benghazi if you pay attention to conservative media. By and large the mainstream press excluded references to Benghazi from their reporting of the speech. Kris “Tanto” Paronto, one of the heroes who watched his friends die that night in Benghazi, called Obama’s comments “disgusting,” tweeting: “Benghazi is a conspiracy @BarackObama?! How bout we do this, let’s put your cowardly ass on the top of a roof with 6 of your buddies&shoot rpg’s&Ak47’s at you while terrorists lob 81mm mortars killing 2 of your buddies all while waiting for US support that you never sent.” He’s right to be offended. The real conspiracy of Benghazi was the false narrative that the whole thing was the result of an offensive video – an objectively proven lie born from the resentment and paranoia within Obama’s own administration. They didn’t think the truth was compatible with getting Barack Obama re-elected six weeks after the attack. In reality, Obama himself contradicted this conspiracy narrative before he even left office. Fox News’ Chris Wallace asked him in April 2016 to identify the worst mistake of his presidency. “Probably failing to plan for the day after what I think was the right thing to do, in intervening in Libya.” At least he got one thing right: Benghazi (or what he euphemistically refers to as the aftermath of his war in Libya) WAS a terrible mistake. What it was not is a conspiracy theory. With President Trump methodically erasing the Obama legacy, this bizarre attempt to reframe the narratives around Obama’s greatest failures should fool no one. Barack Obama took us to war with Libya. His State Department refused multiple requests to meet minimum security standards at the Benghazi consulate. President Obama never sent anyone to rescue or protect our ambassador or our own people during the 13 hours they were under attack. Four brave men died as a result and many other heroes had their lives forever altered. That is not a conspiracy. That is fact – no matter how inconvenient Democrats may find it. This is one part of the Obama legacy that Trump should not erase. We all need to remember the lessons learned from Obama’s worst mistake.

Agreed!  Obama’s lies about his, and Hillary’s, epic failure with respect to Benghazi are unconscionable.  It shows just how much of a coward he is.  At best (and this is being WAY too generous), his and Hillary showed a spectacular lack of judgement and decision making when that horrific event happened.  If you’re an honest Democrat, that is the ONLY defense you can possible muster.  At worst, and this is FAR more accurate..there were a series of bad decisions, followed by a cover-up, and then when it was realized..Susan Rice was sent out to all of the major networks to lie about what they knew.  That is exactly how it all went down.  And, then.. When four brave Americans died as a result of this, Obama has the nerve in hindsight with the facts and videos out there to back it up…with his self-righteous, arrogant, metro-sexual manner to go out and suggest that the whole thing was a “Republican conspiracy?”  Seriously?!?  What a disgusting, nauseating tool…  Shame on you Obama…and shame on the media for not calling him out, to his face…on camera.  Thanks to former Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-UT, who was the Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, for setting the record straight.

Michael Bay’s ’13 Hours’ gets huge sales boost as election nears

“13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi,” Michael Bay’s film about the 2012 attack on the U.S. embassy in Libya, is enjoying a huge spike in home video sales thanks, apparently, to Donald Trump and his criticism of Hillary Clinton’s role in the tragedy. “13 Hours” did OK at the U.S. box office when it was released last January, earning $52.9 million. But its distributor Paramount has been taken aback by the fact that since it was released digitally in May, and on Blu-ray/DVD in June, the film has grossed almost $40 million, a colossal return for its home video release (digital purchases are around $7.1 million, digital and physical rentals are at $20.2 million, and $13.5 million is from Blu-ray and DVD sales.) Although “13 Hours” does not mention Hillary Clinton or President Obama and director Bay has been at pains to stress it doesn’t endorse a partisan political viewpoint, the film’s release coincides with a renewal of scrutiny over Clinton’s culpability for the attack in Benghazi. In June Trump’s son Eric Trump told Fox News about “13 Hours:” “I think in order to vote in this next election, you should have to watch that movie.”

Agreed.  That’s why I own it on blu ray..  If you’ve not seen this movie, go see it!

Petraeus gives closed-door testimony Saturday on Hill about Benghazi attacks

Retired Army Gen. David Petraeus is providing rare, Saturday testimony on Capitol Hill, talking privately with the Republican-led House committee investigating the fatal 2012 terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya. Petraeus was the CIA director at the time of the attacks and is testifying for the second time before the chamber’s Select Committee on Benghazi . He is expected to testify Saturday for three or four hours to “tie up loose ends” from his visit in early January, Fox News is told. The Sept. 11, 2012, terror attacks on a U.S. outpost in Benghazi killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service Officer Sean Smith and two CIA contractors. The selected committee was formed in 2014 to investigate the attacks including whether the Obama administration failed to provide adequate security for the outpost, who committed the strikes and if officials tried to mislead the public by suggesting an online, anti-Muslim video sparked the attacks. Then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who is now the 2016 Democratic presidential frontrunner, testified in October 2015 before the committee, which has so far interviewed at least 75 witnesses. She also tesified before Congress on the matter in 2013. Democrats and others argue the committee’s interviews, subpoena requests and other, related activities are largely wasting millions in taxpayer dollars and is essentially election-season theater to hurt Clinton’s campaign. One of the major sticking points in the Benghazi inquiry focuses on the public talking points that the CIA drafted, particularly the role then-Deputy CIA Director Mike Morell played in writing them. Petraeus testified about the attack before the House Intelligence Committee in 2012, about two months after the Benghazi attacks..

Definitely something to keep an eye on…

The United West: Clinton-Obama Benghazi Gun Running Operation Exposed

(THE UNITED WEST) Clare Lopez of the Center for Security Policy, a member of the Benghazi Citizen’s Commission and former CIA intelligence officer, exposes Benghazi as a complete national security disaster resulting from the lack of leadership from President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. In part one, Lopez explains in simple detail exactly how the United States, led by Clinton, aligned itself with the Muslim Brotherhood in a way that defies common sense and basic principles of foreign policy. The United West presents this three-part series as a national security context to better understand the blockbuster Hollywood movie, “13 Hours, the Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.“

Benghazi Family Hits Back: Hillary Clinton Lied About Us To George Stephanopoulos

Kate Quigley, sister of Glen Doherty, one of the four murder victims of the September 11 terror attack against our Benghazi consulate in Libya in 2012, accused Hillary Clinton of lying to George Stephanopoulos about what the former Secretary of State told her and other grieving Benghazi family members. During her Sunday appearance on ABC’s This Week, Clinton said outright that she never told the Benghazi families that an anti-Muslim YouTube video caused the terror attack that resulted in the deaths of their loved ones. In other words, Clinton accused these family members of lying. Stephanopoulos asked her point blank, “Did you tell them it was about the film?” Clinton flat-out denied it. “No,” she said. “You know, look, I understand the continuing grief at the loss that parents experienced with the loss of these four brave Americans.” When asked if Clinton told the truth to Stephanopoulos, Quigley told a Boston radio station Thursday that Clinton is now lying about telling the grieving family members the lie about the YouTube video: This is a woman that will do and say anything to get what she wants. I have very little respect for her. I know what she said to me and she can say all day long that she didn’t say it. That’s her cross to bear. She knows that she knew what happened that day, and she wasn’t truthful, and that has come out in the last hearings — that she told her family one thing and was telling the public another thing. … People made mistakes but for some reason somebody decided to perpetuate this lie and I don’t know if we’ll ever know. It fascinates me that people sit in a room and talk about, “Hey, let’s come up with this movie idea and Mohamed and a protest.” Nobody has ever owned up to where that story came from and why, and somebody knows. … It is a fascinating thing that in this day and age, a huge lie was created around a terror attack on 9/11. So not only did Clinton lie to these people (and America) as they were grieving over their loved ones, Clinton is now publicly defaming them as liars on the Sunday shows.

Wow..  And to think after all of this, there are still some blind fools out there that will still vote for that duplicitous, self-righteous, sanctimonious, arrogant, lying, limousine liberal..  THAT is what really is shocking.  Hillary?  Even Dems who support her know she is a pathological liar.  Like I said, what is really shocking is that even knowing that some will still vote for her.

Hillary: I Didn’t Lie to Benghazi Families — It Was ‘The Fog Of War’

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” while discussing the uncovered email showing Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton had told the Egyptian prime minister that “we know the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film,” prior to telling them it was a YouTube video that caused the terror attack, Clinton said she did not lie to them but instead was caught up in “the fog of war.” When confronted by video clips of family members of Benghazi victims, Clinton said, “I understand the continuing grief at the loss that parents experienced with the loss of these four brave Americans. I did testify as you know for 11 hours and I answered all of these questions. Now, I can’t — I can’t help it that people think there has to be something else there, I said very clearly, there had been a terrorist group that had taken responsibility on Facebook, between the time that I, you know, when I talked to my daughter, that was the latest information, we were giving it credibility, and then we learned the next day, it wasn’t true. In fact, they retracted it. This was a fast-moving series of events in the fog of war. I think most Americans understand.”

Doesn’t she just want to make you vomit?!?  Always making excuses for failures and incompetence…and in this case, for brazenly lying.  Just like the sleazy attorney that she is (and just like her hubby, before he was disbarred and impeached), she does that big wide-eyed “gosh it wasn’t my fault” look into the camera, while smiling no less…and lying yet again.  How any clear-thinking American could possibly vote for that nauseating, arrogant, self-righteous, elitist, piece of garbage is hard to fathom.

Ben Affleck Had Hillary’s Private Email Address–and late Ambassador Chris Stevens Didn’t

Ben Affleck sent an email to Hillary Clinton’s private email server during her tenure at the State Department, an email released on Friday by the agency revealed. The Argo and Batman v. Superman star e-mailed Clinton on April 16, 2012 to provide an advanced copy of a report on sector security reform in the Democratic Republic of Congo on behalf of his Eastern Congo Initiative nonprofit organization. “The report discusses the opportunity that now exists for the international community to partner with the Government of the DRC to reform the security sector and, in doing so, take concrete steps towards creating a better future for the country,” Affleck wrote. “This report describes a path towards greater security if reform of the military, police and judicial sector is supported by firm commitments from the government of the DRC and the international community.” He added: The report maintains that the underlying reason for many of the problems in the DRC is the pervasive lack of security throughout the country. It offers a critical look at the symptoms that a weak military, police and justice system project on the population as well as the root causes of the horrible reality of daily life in the DRC; lack of political will. Past attempts at military reform have failed mainly due to the lack of political will from the Congolese government, and the international community’s shortfalls in supporting and encouraging the momentum needed for reform. During the Benghazi Committee hearings last week, Clinton acknowledged that Ambassador Christopher Stevens, who was killed along with three other Americans in the September 11, 2012 terrorist attack in Libya, did not have Clinton’s private email address. “I do not believe that he had my personal email,” Clinton said in her testimony, adding: “He was in constant contact with people on my staff, other officials in the State Department, and I did have an opportunity to talk with him about the substance of the policy. But with respect to security, he took those requests where they belonged, he took them to security professionals.” The email was revealed as part of the State Department’s effort to release thousands of Clinton’s emails stored on a private server during her tenure as Secretary of State.

Doesn’t that just make you want to vomit?  Her divaness was taking emails from Ben Affleck…a HollyWEIRD actor, for crying out loud..on her private email..  And yet, an Ambassador, working for her, who DIED in the line of duty didn’t even have that email address.  What a breathtaking lack of priorities.

Opinion: The Benghazi Hearings Confirm Yet Again What a Brazen Liar Hillary Is

Dear Reader (though not Sid Blumenthal, who is probably busy trying to figure out how he can get his penny loafers on over his hooves), The storm clouds are gathering. That’s not metaphorical. I’m in Dallas. The rain has been Biblical with periods of apocalyptic. But if it’s meteorological metaphors you’re looking for, back in Washington, the clouds are actually parting. It’s been a week of clarification: Paul Ryan will almost certainly be the next speaker of the House. Jim Webb will go back to 1965, when men like him were welcome in the Democratic party. Lincoln Chafee will go back to his true calling as an artisanal vegan cheese monger (sold by the gram and kilo only!). Joe Biden will almost certainly spend his retirement telling strangers at the bar that he could have been president if he wanted to. Then again, he’ll also probably tell them that he can fit 38 Ho-Hos in his mouth at one time and that Belize smells like Robert Reich’s hat. Lot’s of people are saying Hillary is now assured to be the Democratic nominee — and even president — because of these clarifying events of the last ten days or so. I don’t think any of that is nearly so clear. Bernie Sanders may still win in both New Hampshire and Iowa. And I continue to have trouble believing such an event wouldn’t reshuffle the race and draw someone else to the rescue. But something else was made clear this week: Hillary Clinton is a committed and unapologetic liar. Of course, this wasn’t actually a revelation any more than testimony from the Secretary of the Interior that, after extensive study, he can confirm that bears do, in fact s** * in the woods. There’s a scene in one of the Dune books where Paul Atreides experiences living through the moments he’d already prophesied. If I remember right, it was a dreamlike sense of ennui as he walked through steps he’d felt he’d already walked through. Or something like that. The point is that when it comes to Clintons lying and the press not caring and turning their derision on those who do, it’s déjà vu for as far as the eye can see. So I wasn’t surprised that the Benghazi hearings went as they did. The narrative was written before she entered the room. The only thing that ever confuses me is why so many Republicans are so willing to play their parts with such predictability. Personally, I’ve never found the Benghazi scandal very mysterious. It’s been clear for a very long time what happened. I’ve been saying as much for years on TV and even in this very “news”letter. For instance: There is an enormous amount of theorizing about what the “real story” behind Benghazi really is. To me it’s always been obvious. The White House was caught off guard — for reasons stemming both from ideology and incompetence — on September 11, 2012. As they have after virtually every other (jihadist) terrorist attack on Americans, they acted as if it had absolutely nothing to do with them. As with the Times Square bomber, the Fort Hood shooter, and other Islamist assaults, there’s always some other reason for the bloodshed, some attempt to claim, at least for a while, that this was an “isolated incident” with no broader implications for the War on Terror or Obama’s foreign policy. Admittedly, even this White House understood that spinning the Benghazi attack as an isolated incident wasn’t going to work (such intense spinning could risk irreparable scrotal torsion). So they went with the story about the video. At least in Wag the Dog Robert DeNiro (Connie Brean) kept denying the misinformation he was spreading: Conrad “Connie” Brean: You’re goddamn right, then it’s got nothing to do with the B-3 Bomber! John Levy: There is no B-3 bomber. Conrad “Connie” Brean: [Knowingly] I just said that! There is no B-3 bomber, and I don’t know why these rumors get started! Yesterday’s hearings confirmed that Hillary Clinton deliberately and knowingly lied when she blamed it all on that video. This really isn’t a debatable point now. We can argue about why she lied and we can debate whether that lie matters. But that she lied is incontrovertible. First of all, we know that the video story wasn’t, in fact, true. Second, we know that the Obama administration knew it wasn’t true. Third we know that Hillary knew it wasn’t true. (You could claim that she was lying to the Egyptian prime minister when she said, “We know that the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the film.” But it seems less likely that she would have lied to her own daughter on the night of the attack.) After reading many of Clinton’s e-mails — never mind her bizarre claim in the Democratic debate that the Libyan intervention was a success story — it seems pretty clear that one of her motivations was to shift blame away from what she — and Sid Blumenthal — had wrought. They had schemed for a long time to find a way to spin the Libyan adventure as her triumph in anticipation of a presidential run. The Benghazi debacle threatened to shed light on the underlying policy failure — not just of failing to provide security, but of the whole intervention. Better to blame the video. We learned something else as well: Much of the mainstream media simply does not care. Noah Rothman has a good rundown of the praetorian media’s response to the hearings. In short, Hillary Clinton lied over and over and over, but she did it with poise and grace, so she’s the winner. I should be more furious about it all, but rage is hard to muster when the outrageous is so predictable. Contempt, however, is much easier to conjure.

I always love reading Jonah Goldberg’s political musings!  He really cuts through the crap..  Anyway, to read the rest of this op/ed, click on the text above.

‘Serial liar’: Families of Benghazi victims blast Clinton on Benghazi

Michael Ingmire watched as Hillary Clinton was grilled for 11 hours Thursday about the 2012 attack in Benghazi that left his nephew and three other Americans dead and saw not a future president, but a “serial liar.” As a congressional panel pressed the former Secretary of State over the attack on the consulate facility in the Libyan city, Ingmire, uncle of Sean Smith, and relatives of former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty watched from their homes, hoping Clinton’s testimony would yield answers about why additional security was not granted and why she initially blamed the attack on a YouTube video instead of a coordinated act of terrorism. “The thing that was shocking – one of the pinnacle moments – was the revelation she told her family there was a terrorist attack while she told America something else,” Smith’s uncle, Michael Ingmire, told FoxNews.com. “Mrs. Clinton is a serial liar.” Smith, an information officer, and Woods, a former Navy SEAL, died along with Doherty and U.S. ambassador Chris Stevens when Islamic militants stormed the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi and set it ablaze before attacking a nearby CIA compound with machine guns and rockets. Stevens, the first U.S. Ambassador killed in the line of duty since 1979, had repeatedly asked the State Department for increased security at the consulate prior to the attack but his requests were not granted. In the hours following the attacks, the Obama administration learned they were carefully planned assaults by Al Qaeda-related militants but Clinton and others would go on to tell a different tale: an anti-Muslim YouTube video caused spontaneous protests and angry mobs were to blame for the attacks. “So if there’s no evidence for a video-inspired protest, then where did the false narrative start?” Ohio Republican Rep. Jim Jordan asked Clinton during the hearing Thursday. “It started with you, Madam Secretary,” he said. “You could live with a protest about a video, that won’t hurt you, but a terror attack would.” Clinton rejected Jordan’s claim, describing the situation in the hours after the attack as “fluid” and the details unclear. “I am sorry that it doesn’t fit your narrative congressman, I can only tell you what the facts are,” Clinton said. During the marathon hours of questioning — which Democrats claim was a partisan attack on the Democratic presidential frontrunner — Clinton said Stevens understood the risks involved and that his requests for additional security never crossed her desk. “Those requests for security were rightly reviewed by the security professionals,” Clinton told the committee. “I did not see them. I did not approve them. I did not deny them.” Clinton also described Stevens as a friend, saying the 52-year-old ambassador “understood that most people in Libya or anywhere reject the extremists’ argument that violence can ever be a path to dignity or justice.” “I knew and admired Chris Stevens,” she said in her opening remarks Thursday. “He was one of our nation’s most accomplished diplomats. Chris’ mother liked to say he had ‘sand in his shoes,’ because he was always moving, always working, especially in the Middle East that he came to know so well.” But Clinton’s closeness to Stevens was called into question by Rep Susan Brooks, R-Ill., who asked: “Did you ever personally speak to him after you swore him in in May? Yes or no please.” “Yes, I believe I did,” Clinton replied. “I don’t recall.” Ingmire described Clinton’s choice of words about Stevens as jarring. “How could she say ‘Chris thought this’ and ‘Chris felt that’ when she basically had nothing to do with him?” Ingmire said. Tyrone Woods’ father, Charles, recalled meeting Clinton when his son’s body arrived at Andrews Air Force Base two days after the attacks. “I gave Hillary a hug and shook her hand and she said, ‘We are going to have the filmmaker arrested who was responsible for the death of your son,” Woods said, reading the account from his journal. “That was a complete bald-faced lie,” he told FoxNews.com Friday. “The day after the attack, she was talking to the Prime Minister of Egypt and she said the attack in Libya had nothing to do with the video.” Smith’s mother, Patricia, gave a similar account, saying she was told by the administration “it was a video when they knew it was not a video.” “They told me lies,” she said Friday. “My son told me the night before that he has been asking for security and he hasn’t heard anything.”

What?  Hillary, a “serial Liar?”  Nahhh…  Perish the thought!   lol  Like we’ve been saying from day one..  The more people learn who that obnoxious, self-righteous, arrogant, entitlement-minded, elitist lying hypocrite is…the more those same people will change what positive impression they have left of her.  We just hope the minds of  enough registered voters change..and we can finally be rid of the Clintons once and for all.
