Starnes: ABC doesn’t hate Roseanne — The network hates her viewers

There’s no doubt that what Roseanne Barr tweeted the other day regarding Valerie Jarrett, a former top adviser to President Obama, was racist. But did ABC Entertainment go too far when it canceled her television show? Referring to Valerie Jarrett, who is African-American, by her initials, Barr tweeted Tuesday: “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby=vj.” Barr later apologized to Jarrett and the public and deleted her tweet, calling it “a bad joke.” ABC said in a statement that Barr’s comments were “abhorrent and repugnant” – which they were. And ABC also said the tweet was “inconsistent with our values.” Now, that’s an interesting word for ABC to use – values. This is the same company that employs Joy Behar, a notorious anti-Christian bigot. Behar, a panelist on “The View,” recently belittled Vice President Mike Pence over his religious beliefs and suggested people who talk to Jesus are mentally ill. After a massive backlash from viewers, Behar was forced to apologize. However, she was not fired for her blatant bigotry. In addition, ABC owns ESPN, which earlier this month rehired the profane Keith Olbermann, a man who has been known to unleash a torrent of vulgarities at President Trump. He has repeatedly called President Trump a Nazi on social media, along with other words that are unsuitable to post in this column. Do the words of Behar and Olbermann reflect ABC’s alleged values? If not, why are they still receiving a paycheck? Well, that’s what we call Hollywood hypocrisy. It’s permissible for actors and broadcasters to attack conservatives and Christians. And Hollywood especially loves it when celebrities attack Trump supporters. This bears repeating – what Barr tweeted was detestable and racist and the network was well within its right to mete out a harsh punishment by cancelling her show “Roseanne.” But in doing so, ABC also punished dozens if not hundreds of other people – actors, writers, producers, costumers and makeup artists. Why not just write Barr out of the show instead of pulling the plug? Well, I have a theory about that. I contend ABC executives privately despised the program and were just looking for a reason to cancel the show. Think about it – ABC’s highest rated program attracted a huge audience of gun-toting, flag-waving, blue collar Trump supporters. And I believe that embarrassed network executives. ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey told reporters before “Roseanne” was cancelled that the comedy was going to stay “away from politics” and focus “toward family” in the upcoming season. Matt Drudge responded by tweeting: “Corporate cannibals stripping Roseanne of her fun.” ABC was basically telling journalists it was going to tone down all the rhetoric that appealed to Middle America – the people Hollywood and Hillary Clinton dismiss as a basket of xenophobic, homophobic, racist deplorables. A few hours after the network pulled the plug on “Roseanne,” MSNBC’s Chris Hayes summed his take on the scandal. “Roseanne’s problem turned out to be that she far too authentically represented the actual worldview of a significant chunk of the Trump base,” he said. And that’s why ABC canceled “Roseanne.” Network executives could not stomach the show’s “deplorable” viewers.

Agreed…  Todd Starnes was responsible for that spot-on assessment.

Mike Pence Urges View Co-Host Joy Behar to Apologize to ‘Millions of Christians’

Vice President Mike Pence reportedly accepted comedian Joy Behar’s apology for mocking his faith, but he had hoped the ABC television star would make a bigger apology to the “millions of Christians” who tune in to The View. “She apologized to the vice president, he accepted and said he wasn’t offended by her comment for his own sake but on behalf of the millions of Christians who watch ABC and her show,” a White House source told Fox News. “He encouraged her to make the same apology publicly on the show that she did privately to him.” Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed at a shareholder’s meeting Thursday that Behar, who co-hosts the daytime talk show The View, apologized to Pence for her comments saying that the vice president suffered from a “mental illness” for speaking to Jesus. “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus,” Behar said on February 13. “It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices.” “My question is, can he talk to Mary Magdalene when his wife isn’t in the room?” she added. Pence described Behar’s comments as an example of “religious intolerance” and an “insult” to many Americans who are faithful. “To have ABC maintain a broadcast forum that compared Christianity to mental illness is just wrong,” Pence said. “It is simply wrong for ABC to have a television program that expresses that kind of religious intolerance.” More than 30,000 callers complained to ABC television network over Behar’s comments after Media Research Center president Brent Bozell launched a campaign to target the network’s advertisers. Behar has a history of criticizing conservatives and President Trump on the daytime talk show. On a February 27 broadcast of The View, she suggested that attendees of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) have a “penchant for Nazis.”

Joy is such a loser..  And, while her apology to VP Mike Pence was a step in the right direction (whether she did it of her own volition, or was probably directed to do so), she didn’t have the courage or integrity to do it on tv.  She’s a nauseating, hate-filled, bigot…and she thinks shes witty, when really, she’s stunningly stupid.

More Than 30,000 Callers Blast ABC over View Co-Host Joy Behar’s ‘Anti-Christian Bigotry’

More than 30,000 callers blasted ABC for allowing The View’s Joy Behar to spew “anti-Christian bigotry,” but the parent company has not taken action on any of their complaints. An estimated 30,588 angry viewers called the television network as of Wednesday morning, outraged after ABC broadcast an episode of The View this month in which co-hosts Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin mocked Vice President Mike Pence for his religious beliefs. Media Research Center president Brent Bozell urged the television network to apologize for allowing religious bigotry to be tolerated on network television. The MRC posted contact information for 14 advertisers that broadcast on ABC, as well as information on how to get in touch with the president of ABC television network. “I am sure the advertisers of ‘The View’ will be just as appalled as I am about the anti-Christian remarks made on the show,” Bozell wrote. Behar and Hostin criticized the vice president for voicing his belief in Jesus Christ on the February 13 broadcast. “Look, I’m Catholic, I’m a faithful person, but I don’t know that I want my vice president talking in tongues,” Hostin remarked. Behar replied that Pence’s talking to Jesus is not a sign of faith, but a sign of “mental illness.” “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices,” Behar said. The ABC television network, which includes entities such as ABC News and Disney, has not yet commented on the matter or addressed the callers protesting the network. Despite the outcry from ABC’s viewers, the daytime talk show has not toned down its anti-conservative rhetoric. On Monday’s broadcast of The View, Behar said attendes of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) “have a penchant for Nazis.”

The View is, of course, mindless garbage..  And, Joy Behar is so nauseatingly stupid it boggles the mind that ABC has allowed her to be on “Baba Wawa’s” show (The View) this long.  But, her brazen attack on those of Christian faith is a bridge too far even for Joy.  ABC needs to fire her immediately, and apologize to the millions and millions Joy has offended….as well as the Vice President.

Sen. Lankford confronts ABC over ‘hate group’ tag: Disagreement ‘isn’t the same as hate’

Sen. James Lankford, Oklahoma Republican, on Monday confronted ABC News for labeling the conservative Alliance Defending Freedom as an alleged “hate group,” saying that disagreeing on the issues “isn’t the same as hate.” The network stoked outrage on the right with its July 12 online article headlined, “Jeff Sessions addresses ‘anti-LGBT hate group,’ but DOJ won’t release his remarks,” which referred to the designation used by the liberal Southern Poverty Law Center on its “hate map.” “In this country, we have the freedom to disagree. However, disagreement is not the same as discrimination, and it’s not the same as hate,” Mr. Lankford said in the Monday letter to ABC News President James Goldston. “As journalists and members of the government, we have a responsibility to distinguish between the two,” Mr. Lankford said. “Labeling ADF a ‘hate group’ feeds into a narrative that news media frequently editorializes beyond the facts. This ultimately harms American trust in the press.” The ADF has asked for a retraction and an apology from ABC, accusing the network of “journalistic malpractice.” The network has not responded to a request for comment. NBC News ran a similar article July 12 using the “hate group” label. Both news stories appeared after the SPLC issued a July 11 press release titled, “SPLC: Attorney General must release remarks given to anti-LGBT hate group.” SPLC President Richard Cohen defended the “hate group” designation, saying in a statement that the Arizona-based legal foundation “spreads demonizing lies about the LGBT community in this country and seeks to criminalize it abroad.” The ADF has in recent years taken on cases involving Christian small-business owners such as Washington state florist Barronelle Stutzman who have been penalized by the government for refusing to provide services for same-sex weddings. Mr. Lankford described the SPLC’s definition of a hate group as “overly broad and not based in fact or legal accuracy.” “I found it odd that ABC would designated ADF as a hate group not based on any actual crime or action, but apparently based on their belief in religious liberty or traditional marriage,” Mr. Lankford said. “Since I think I can confidently assume that ABC News is a strong supporter of the First Amendment, why would ABC News label a peaceful group as a ‘hate group’ simply because of a difference of opinion?” Mr. Sessions spoke July 11 at the ADF’s Summit on Religious Liberty in Dana Point, California, a speech that was barred to the press. The Federalist published his prepared remarks on its website July 13.

The SPLC is throughly discredited, extreme liberal, agenda-driven group of sh_t disturbers that hate Christians and Christian organizations.  That’s the bottom line.  And yet the dominantly liberal mainstream media continue to use them as a resource.  They’re oftentimes on NPR/PBS, CNN, MSNBC, etc.  Next time you hear some idiot anchor like Wolf Blitzer say something like, “…the Southern Poverty Law Center”…  Just change the channel quick, because what follows will cause a sudden loss in your IQ points.

ABC Enrages NFL Viewers With Anti-Trump ‘Black-ish’ Promo

The liberal ABC-Disney Television Network generated outrage during its televised coverage of the Houston Texans’ victory over the Oakland Raiders Saturday night in the Wild Card round of the AFC Playoffs, but it had nothing to do with the football. Instead many viewers were annoyed at a promo for next Wednesday’s episode of ABC’s sitcom Black-ish, which features a predominantly African-American cast being decidedly anti-Trump in tone and nature. In the promo, which bills the episode as the “election through the eyes of Black-ish”, Lucy (a white character played by Christine Reitman) tells her predominantly African-American co-workers: “I voted for Trump!” before adding the clichéd justification, “I’m a racist? I have black friends!” In another scene, her colleague Daphne (Wanda Sykes) appears to kick out at her for merely expressing that she had chosen to cast her vote for the Republican Party. Meanwhile the show’s protagonists Dre and Rainbow Johnson are seen looking crestfallen at the outcome of the election while in another scene Rainbow shouts “Go Hillary!” The promo announcer goes on to promise: “Oh they’ll be tweeting about this one!” People already are tweeting about the episode before it’s being aired but it’s not what ABC– owned by Disney– wants to read. Football fans are objecting to Trump voters being ridiculed in such a tiresome and predictable fashion. “Why does the NFL keep playing an anti-Trump commercial for the terrible show Blackish?” wrote one tweeter. “They must not know their audience”. Another viewer fumed: “I am offended at the preview for the show #blackish about voting for Trump makes you a racist!” Matt Falk tweeted: “No one watch #blackish. Not everyone who voted for Trump is a racist, That show caters to the lowest common denominator” while Steve James declared on the online social networking service: “Man, Blackish looks so original! A Trump voter isn’t racist because she has black friends! Can’t wait to never watch a second of that show.” It’s not beyond the realms of possibility that Trump will weigh in on Twitter with his thoughts about Black-ish in the next few days. After all in October 2014, the President-Elect tweeted: “How is ABC Television allowed to have a show entitled “Blackish”? Can you imagine the furor of a show, “Whiteish”! Racism at highest level?”

Exactly!!!  The President-Elect is spot on, and rightly calling out ABC/Disney on their stunning liberal hypocrisy.  It’s SO refreshing to see a high-level political figure calling out the hypocrisy of political correctness.  To liberals having a show called “Black-ish” or even a network called BLACK Entertainment Television (BET) is NOT somehow inherently racist.  Just fathom if there was show called “White-ish” or a network called “White Entertainment Television?”  First of all, the media wouldn’t allow for it’s existence.  But, if it did.. Boy howdy how there would be riots, protests, marches and all the rest of that crap.  Such a double standard.  Thank God Trump is willing to call it out for what it is…and is saying what all of these NFL viewers are Tweeting and posting on FaceBook.  They’re sick and tired of this nonsense being thrown in their face, and being told they’re racists for voting for the white Republican male, instead of the white Democrat female.  EPSN and other sports networks have been doing the same thing…and THAT is why their ratings are in the toilet.  Fans have had enough of it.

ABC responds to petition to remove Raven-Symone from ‘The View’: ‘We love Raven’

ABC responded on Saturday to hundreds of thousand of online petitioners requesting that Raven-Symone be removed from her co-hosting duties on “The View.” “We love Raven. She is confident, genuine and opinionated, all qualities that make her a great addition to the panel,” a representative for ABC said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. The statement comes in response to a petition titled “Petition to Remove Raven Symone from the View.” The petition, which has garnered over 100,000 signatures in just three days, calls on Barbara Walters to fire the “Cosby Show” child star from “The View” over remarks she has made that many consider to be offensive to black people. The 29-year-old actress has sparked controversy in recent weeks saying she wouldn’t hire someone with a “ghetto name” like “Watermelondrea.” Earlier this week she suggested the Spring Valley High School girl who was thrown to the ground by a school resources officer this week bore responsibility for the arrest and shouldn’t have been on her cell phone in the first place. The petition, started by Che Scott-Heron from the U.K., has gained 119,525 signatures. The goal is to reach 150,000 supporters.

This is so rich..

ABC News Has Yet to Release Full Suicide Note of Vester Lee Flanagan

Vester Lee Flanagan, aka Bryce Williams, murdered two former colleagues at a TV news station in Roanoke, Virginia, last Wednesday morning. A couple hours after the shooting, ABC News received a 23-page fax outlining Flanagan’s views and motives in his own words. In the five days since the shooting, ABC News has chosen not to publish the full contents of the fax, which was variously described in the media as a manifesto or a suicide note. No explanation has been given for withholding the full contents from the public. Given that Flanagan is dead, there would seem to be no reason not to reveal it (i.e., no pending trial and therefore no reason to worry about an ongoing investigation or influencing potential jurors). ABC did report excerpts from the document on the day of the shooting. In them, Flanagan said the final straw that prompted his crime was the Charleston church shooting. Speaking of racist shooter Dylan Roof, Flanagan wrote, “You (deleted)! You want a race war (deleted)? BRING IT THEN YOU WHITE… (deleted)!!!” A New York Times report, published last Thursday, described the fax as containing 3 separate suicide notes, all of which had been typed in the past few weeks. The Times added some additional detail to the report by ABC, including the fact that, after he was fired by WDBJ in 2013, Flanagan killed his two cats in a rage and later buried them. On Monday, the New York Daily News reported on a separate cache of letters Flanagan sent to his former roommate Robert Avent. Avent and Flanagan met in 2002 while working out at a gym in North Carolina. In the letters, Flanagan reminisces about his life as a gay prostitute and describes his disappointment and worry over losing his looks.

Of course ABC News has buried this! That is hardly surprising. After all, this story doesn’t fit their racial template, or further their liberal racial agenda. To them, only white people can be racists, and commit racially motivated “hate crimes.” So, they don’t know what to do with this. Of course, if the races had been reversed, the “manifesto” would be the topic de jour nonstop on the news networks. And ABC News, along with the rest of the dominantly liberal mainstream media, would be putting it out nonstop 24/7…and we ALL know it. This lunatic piece of garbage was VERY up front and open about his intention to further (or start) a race war, and said as much. He was a brazen (gay) black racist, and very open and honest about that as well. And yet, that whole component of this story has been buried by the liberal media. NOWHERE is the racial component even discussed by the liberal media. In fact, we’re still seeing stories about how they’re “trying to understand why” he did what he did; what the “motive” was…and that the authorities are still investigating the murder “to determine a motive.” It makes me want to vomit! Gimme a break, and stop insulting our intelligence! These cops need to have the courage to call this what it was; a racially motivated murder. Period! That’s it! This isn’t rocket science. No further “investigation” is required. He told us all why he did what he did!

As an aside… Those self-righteous, entitlement-minded, racist “Black Lives Matter” rabble rousers need to be shunned for what they’re saying about cops and such, and seizing on this horrific act of evil to further THEIR liberal racist agenda; to somehow attack cops and “racist” white people. It’s time we ALL stood up against their crap, and said, “ALL lives matter” and to call these “Black Lives Matter” losers what they are; racists.
