Ryan Reynolds shared a public service announcement to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus in Canada in which he poked fun at fellow celebrities feeling self-important amid the ongoing crisis. The Canadian actor shared the brief one-minute video on his Twitter page Monday in response to a social media chain launched by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. In it, the actor struck a serious tone while asking fellow Canadians to stay at home in an effort to curtail the spread of COVID-19. “Thank you, Prime Minister Trudeau,” Reynolds says in the video of himself sitting on the couch and speaking directly to camera. “We need to work together to flatten the curve and fight off COVID-19.” For the sake of levity, that’s when the 43-year-old “Deadpool” star joked about the many ways in which celebrities are seizing the current world health crisis for attention on social media. “I think in times of crisis, I think we all know that it’s the celebrities that we count on most,” he deadpanned. “They’re the ones that are going to get us through this… right after health care workers, of course… First responders, people who work in essential services, ping pong players, mannequins — they’re great — childhood imaginary friends, sure. Like 400 other types of people.” The actor then concluded his message on a serious note by asking his followers to practice social distancing and encouraging them to look ahead to the future. “Look, stay at home, practice social distancing, wash your hands. We are going to get through this thing, we’re going to get through this thing together,” Reynolds concluded. Trudeau, whose wife tested positive for the virus, started the social media chain calling on high-profile people to help him “plank the curve.” Reynolds ended his video by nominating Canadian musician Steven Page, his brother, Terry Reynolds, and fellow actor Seth Rogen. Awesome!!  Ryan used his almost Deadpool-like sarcasm to poke fun of his fellow HollyWEIRD actors making all of these mind-numbingly out-of-touch videos and comments on social media.  We love Arnold S..  BUT, the one of him sitting in his hot tub and smoking a cigar and telling everyone to relax.  Really?  Those of us who aren’t gazillionaires like the former Terminator are worried about our jobs, putting food on the table, and paying our bills.  All Arnold has to worry about is whether his maid won’t show up due to quarantine.  These HollyWEIRD liberal elitists have no clue..  Thanks Ryan for slapping them.  Excellent!!     🙂
